Dad is in hospital

My dad has been admitted to hospital with COVID this morning. Oxygen sats 85%, high temperature. He’s unvaxed (into all sort of conspiracy theories) but don’t get me started on that! He’s had COVID for more than a week now, how likely is it going to get worse? He’s 72 but no serious chronic illnesses, not obese.
Him and my mum live in a different country and I’m so worried. If he’s to get worse, when is it likely to happen?

My condolences. I understand that feeling of worrying about not being present. It happened to me. But maybe sometimes it is easier to leave life alone.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear your sad update. My dad died nearly 5 days ago (not from Covid, he had pneumonia) and we arrived at the hospital 15 minutes after he passed, so I know the feeling of being upset that nobody was holding his hand. Sending love

Thanks everyone. I just feel awful at the moment. I have a tightness in my chest and I can’t breathe. Just can’t stop thinking of my dad, how terrifying it must have been for him to die alone. I just wish somebody even a nurse or a doctor could have held his hand when this was happening. How comforting it would have been. And now we lost him forever in such awful circumstances and there is nothing we can do and it hurts it hurts so bad. I just can’t stop crying.

I didn’t even said I loved him when he was out of icu and replying to text messages. I was just saying that I hoped he gets better. Oh how I wish I said that I loved him. I keep beating myself up for this he died and didn’t even know that I loved him it’s so sad
