Anyone any idea if this is going to be anything dramatic or just a 'be careful' pep talk?

OP posts:
TonytheDog · 19/07/2021 17:31

You know when teenagers talk to you and it's all 'and you know so what happened was that well, when we went to oh well you know Tony wasn't there but anyway so we were at the park and then well, yeah. Can I make a sandwich?'. That's Boris.

marieantoinehairnet · 19/07/2021 17:31

JVT - driven by human behaviour, tearing the pants out of things again

We can't trust the Great British public to do anything sensibly, we're the only European nation with a binge drinking culture, we're fooked

TonytheDog · 19/07/2021 17:32

"We reserve the right to go to mandating" for installing the NHS app. He slipped that in quietly!

CrunchyCarrot · 19/07/2021 17:32

Thinking about it, a 'crowded indoor venue' could be many places. Could be a large wedding reception.

TonytheDog · 19/07/2021 17:32

*mandation

RoseRedRoseBlue · 19/07/2021 17:33

@marieantoinehairnet

Can anyone tell me why it's ok for people to go clubbing and spread this disease but it's not ok for hundreds of thousands of children who aren't infected to go to school this week - what did our children do to deserve this kind of contempt for their existence. Ok to not be vacc'd, ok to get long covid, ok to miss out on education - all so the ungrateful masses can go clubbing, save Pret and to attend super spreader events
Wanting to have a ‘normal’ life isn’t being “ungrateful” - plus not everyone has children.
the80sweregreat · 19/07/2021 17:33

Yep, my eldest used to mumble nonsense in his teens. Boris is just morphing into a recycled teenager. A really clueless one.

SpindleWhorl · 19/07/2021 17:33

'We reserve the right to go to mandation' blah blah ... 'by September'.

And there we have it.

CrunchyCarrot · 19/07/2021 17:33

"We reserve the right to go to mandating" for installing the NHS app

Well sorry, Boris, I don't have a smart phone!

IcedPurple · 19/07/2021 17:33

we're the only European nation with a binge drinking culture,

You've clearly never been to any of the Nordic countries.

NothinHappensAfterTwo · 19/07/2021 17:33

What is the definition of a 'large gathering'?

It’ll be Tesco on a Saturday morning by October. Fucking hell.

marieantoinehairnet · 19/07/2021 17:34

We have to be realistic, no one across the globe is having a normal life right now, what makes us world beating or able to defeat the undefeatable?!

the80sweregreat · 19/07/2021 17:34

Boris then thinking : shit , what did he just say ?
I'm losing the will you live here !!

marieantoinehairnet · 19/07/2021 17:34

@IcedPurple

we're the only European nation with a binge drinking culture,

Yes I have, but no one does it quite as badly as we do
IcedPurple · 19/07/2021 17:35

@CrunchyCarrot

Thinking about it, a 'crowded indoor venue' could be many places. Could be a large wedding reception.
Could be a church, a university lecture, a theatre, a pub. So many places. Very, no doubt deliberately, vague expression.
pinkgin8 · 19/07/2021 17:36

@marieantoinehairnet Yes I have, but no one does it quite as badly as we do

Agreed 😅

ineedaholidaynow · 19/07/2021 17:36

Crowded indoor venues can include schools!

the80sweregreat · 19/07/2021 17:36

Boris not sure what he is using ; or , indeed , who he is!

TonytheDog · 19/07/2021 17:37

He didn't answer the question about why he thought he didn't need to isolate 🤦🏻‍♀️

SpindleWhorl · 19/07/2021 17:37

Is he drunk?

IcedPurple · 19/07/2021 17:37

Yes I have, but no one does it quite as badly as we do

I'm not going to get into a discussion about how 'badly' various nations do it, but Britain clearly isn't the only country in Europe with a binge drinking culture. It's very much part of the culture in much of northern and eastern Europe.

NothinHappensAfterTwo · 19/07/2021 17:37

Crowded indoor venues can include schools!

That’s a frightening thought.

SpindleWhorl · 19/07/2021 17:37

Incoherent.

marieantoinehairnet · 19/07/2021 17:37

Waffling again

marieantoinehairnet · 19/07/2021 17:38

Looks slightly amused with himself too
