My daughter has a sniffle- she went to a children’s party only 7 kids no parents but has come back with a sniffle

Husband double jabbed but when he went to pick up he was invited into the house where he said there were other parents standing in the kitchen. He was in for about 8-9 mins but feels uncomfortable

I’m yet to be vaccinated so now I feel my times up with Covid- my husband is pretty convinced I’ll die but I starting to wobble a bit now….I don’t have anyone to talk to in to hence the reason I have to rely on mumsnet to have a rant

"So we made the decision that I’ll hold off until my husband is fully vaccinated so there is one person around for my daughter incase I don’t make it"

This is beyond anxious. From this it sounds like you both made a decision to be vaccinated separately in case something happened to him not just you

And your husband constantly telling you you are going to die is ridiculous. He needs some help for his anxiety

Romanoff · 10/07/2021 18:33

I am more concerned that your daughter is living with an asshole like your husband.

He sounds like he is an abusive twat. Even if it's a mental health issue, it's still abusive. He is moving you to a spare room?

And either your mental health has taken such a dive you need outside help, or you have been completely brainwashed by your husband.

I am just not sure if this is a situation where both parents have severe mental health issues and need help. Or a usual abuse situation where YOU need help ASAP.

But this is not good for your daughter.

Namechanged4thi5 · 10/07/2021 18:34

@somewheresorted thank you for being kind. I didn’t expect much kindness but surprisingly most have been understanding- I don’t have anyone to talk to so have to use the avenues I have-but thank you again for being kind

Was it him that convinced you not to have the vaccine not a medical professional

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 10/07/2021 18:34

@LightAsTheBreeze

He sounds abusive if he keeps trying to terrorise you about covid
I’d agree with this. It’s one thing to have anxiety about yourself but he seems to be focussed on you dying and not him. I’d tell him to shut the fuck up.
EmmalineC · 10/07/2021 18:34

I'm CEV, I had Covid in February, it was unpleasant for a month or so. I needed oxygen for a while then I got better. My DH (who wasn't allowed to visit) wasn't sitting at home writing my funeral service and preparing the children for my imminent death. You're being over-dramatic and your husband is hardly the most supportive man, is he?

SilverOtter · 10/07/2021 18:34

It could simply be a cold. Both of my two are absolutely streaming at the moment, but repeated lfts are telling me it's not covid.

CavernousScream · 10/07/2021 18:34

Your husband needs mental health support, but that’s not very easy to access. You’re not going to die from either your daughter’s sniffle or the vaccine. Go to a drop in vaccine clinic tomorrow. Get vaccinated.

Aquamarine1029 · 10/07/2021 18:34

Your husband is a massive prick and you are falling for his hysteria. Honestly, this is so unhinged it's astounding. Get a grip before you turn your child into a nervous wreck.

Crinkle77 · 10/07/2021 18:35

@PatriciaHolm

Does he use this as a way to stop you going out and doing things, OP?

It's completely irrational, which makes me think he's got an ulterior motive.

Yes that's exactly what I'm thinking too.
FourTeaFallOut · 10/07/2021 18:36

What else has he convinced you shouldn't do now that he has had the vaccine and you haven't now that he's convinced you that you are primed for death?

Maggiesfarm · 10/07/2021 18:38

If your daughter came back from the party with a 'sniffle', she wouldn't have caught whatever she has from the party; that wouldn't show up so quickly, but two or three days down the line. She caught the infection before that.

Just carry on as normal. Children catch colds all the time.

FourTeaFallOut · 10/07/2021 18:38

Why the hell don't you have anyone to talk to? Does it have anything to do with your DH?

Wellbythebloodyhell · 10/07/2021 18:38

Is this some kind of piss take / wind up thread??? It has to be!

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 10/07/2021 18:38

OP - can you explain if you are extremely clinically vulnerable? How and why would you die?

simonisnotme · 10/07/2021 18:39

how old is your daughter and what was the party that she needs a lie down after, a bit ott after a house party

Stuffin · 10/07/2021 18:39

That is exactly what I thought.
Legoninjago1 · 10/07/2021 18:40

@SmileyClare

If this isn't a wind up, you both need help with controlling your anxiety. This is no way to exist.

My husband ended up exposing himself to a group of parents ooh err.. Grin

😂😂

Yeah, I hope so. It's in bad taste if it is but far worse if it isn't.
DinaofCloud9 · 10/07/2021 18:41

Frightening thread. Do people actually think like this? Get your vaccinations and stop listening to your husband. He sounds absolutely bonkers. If this is real and not some odd spoof of something.

SpeakingFranglais · 10/07/2021 18:41

@LightAsTheBreeze

This.

I simply can’t fathom the logic of getting himself fully vaccinated whilst simultaneously telling you that you will die if you catch it, but not encouraging you to have the vaccine.

PearlNextDoor · 10/07/2021 18:42

OMG, this is a disturbing thread to read.

If you get covid-19 and you're a normal weight and 40 years old with no underlying health conditions, your chances of surviving it are about 99.90 I'd say.

God. Relax.

Why does your husband want you to be so anxious?!!

RubbishRug · 10/07/2021 18:43

@Atalune

I don’t really understand your panic?

I think you should go back and speak to your doctor.

Friend has a rare condition and was at a higher risk of clots. She got the pfiezer jab.

Why do you and your DH think you’re going to die?

A friend of mine who's in her 60s actually has a clot, that is being managed and still got the AZ. it was deemed safe and she was fine.

Deffo. Nobody is THIS stupid. Are they?!
Quartz2208 · 10/07/2021 18:43

This is the oddest thing ever - you are under 40, not overweight and have none of the pre existing conditions that make you vulnerable but your husband is convinced you are going to die if you get it to the point you do to?

Either he is having a panic/anxiety problem that he needs to access help for or he is being controlling and using this as a means to keep you in (so abusive behaviour)

Are you allowed out at all OP?
