DN is in isolation for close contact. This is her fourth time. I've only ever had to do isolation because of her not being allowed out. Feels very much "Here we go again".

Me.
I'm on day 7 of isolating for the second time.

Elliemayclampett · 05/07/2021 08:03

Me. Tested positive on Friday despite being fully vaccinated Confused

nettytree · 05/07/2021 08:07

Son in isolation today. Someone in his year had a positive test.

Vaccination doesn't mean you're immune, it means it's less likely to be serious if you get it.
YippeeKiYay155 · 05/07/2021 08:08

Yep. My DD is Yr8 and her whole year group is remote learning due to the high number of positive cases. This is her 4th isolation since October.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 05/07/2021 08:09

I have two dc isolating due to being close contacts (different schools)

YellowPostitNote · 05/07/2021 08:09

Thankfully not today, one coming out of it and back at nursery.

However 40% of my own primary sen school are now self isolating this week, through pupils testing positive, plus various staff who have been in contact.

This is the most pupils testing positive we've had so far.

KillerFlamingo · 05/07/2021 08:10

No but about half the teachers are in isolation so school will be fun this week! Shock

Hotcuppatea · 05/07/2021 08:10

My Y9 DD is at home. The whole year is isolating. She has no close contacts and no symptoms. I think she's enjoying it this time.

ohfourfoxache · 05/07/2021 08:10

Yep….Ds1’s bubble burst, back to home schooling

My daughter is, she goes back later this week as long as no symptoms and negative test. Lots of cases in her school.
My sons not feeling well so he’s not going into college and he’ll be doing a test later.

Ethelswith · 05/07/2021 08:13

1x DC isolating (close friend positive) and it's the second time for them. Quite a lot of her year group is now out as 1 case has become 3 confirmed (Delta hotspot area) plus other pupils in different year groups and two staff, and the email from school hints at more on the way (I guess they know of more pupils/staff awaiting test results)

Howshouldibehave · 05/07/2021 08:13

DD is now back but I’m off!

Who is your DN that’s isolating, @RosieLemonade? Is that Dear niece?

Shakirasma · 05/07/2021 08:13

DS isolating this week due to a positive on his SEN school bus.

Despite me working is a school, DH visiting peoples houses for work and DD going to college, every single brush with covid and isolation we've had as been because of DS's school.

OutrageousFlavourLikeFreesias · 05/07/2021 08:16

DS is isolating for ten days, along with everyone else from the school who was on the latest Plague Bus. Plus his entire year group is isolating today while they complete Track And Trace for a second case. His second ten-day isolation. His friend's fourth.

Tatum1234 · 05/07/2021 08:17

My y8 son is home, his best friend tested positive last Tuesday.

hopeishere · 05/07/2021 08:18

Me. DS isolating until Friday. Contact was on the last day of term. It seems mad the rest of us can go about our business as normal though.

I'm not sure of the point of all this testing now. Like it's spreading hugely, should we just accept that and only focus on the very ill.

Assume it's just going to rip through now and we just have to hope vaccinations keep hospital numbers down.

SushiGo · 05/07/2021 08:20

Yes, 2 out of 3 children self isolating due to close contact...

Been lucky so far so can't moan but does feel a bit like the run up to Christmas when schools were closing all over the place.

Frazzled2207 · 05/07/2021 08:25

Yup y1 child again.
Yr 3 child has luckily avoided it thus far which is amazing good luck as we are in a NW hotspot.
Just hope we can somehow limp to the end of term without further upset. 3 weeks to go.

Cactuslockdown · 05/07/2021 08:27

Yep, 2 primary DC off here. First time for us luckily… not sure my 2 could pick the children who tested positive out of a line up 🤦‍♀️

OliveTree75 · 05/07/2021 08:27

My y3 is off. Was sent home on monday because of a case in the other y3 class. It was extended due to a further case so he doesn't go back until next monday now. 2 weeks of school lost and a childcare nightmare Sad

My ds is the same. Doesn't know who they are!

I don’t get this unless the teacher is ill and no replacement can someone explain.

Either way SI should finish for the child after 10 days even if they can’t return to school
