DN is in isolation for close contact. This is her fourth time. I've only ever had to do isolation because of her not being allowed out. Feels very much "Here we go again".

@EndSI
Yes, and they are double-vaccinated FFS
Err, did you not know it doesn’t make you invincible, you can still spread the virus and catch it FFS.

NightOwl19 · 05/07/2021 15:57

We're on day 8 here, 4 year groups out of the entire primary all off

Covidatemyhomework · 05/07/2021 16:08

DD’s school has not had a bubble burst yet. I’m astounded as case volumes are really high here. I fully don’t expect them to make it until the end of term though. I feel like everyday will be the day I get the text message…

GetTaeFuck · 05/07/2021 16:12

Youngest DD has symptoms so I’ve ordered her a PCR test, eldest DDs year group have been sent home today, so I’m keeping middle DD off regardless.

Whereismymojo · 05/07/2021 16:13

Yep! Two - and both positive!

80-90% less likely to even contract Covid-19 with a double-vaccination.

Then add on 50% less likely to transmit it.

That is a pretty substantial reduction.

Science facts.

FFS

EndSI · 05/07/2021 16:15

But I guess Penny you are of the 'let them rot at home' as walking biohazards school of thought regarding pupils.

CimCardashian · 05/07/2021 16:17

My DD is self isolating due to a case in her class. SE London secondary

Snowpatrolling · 05/07/2021 16:20

My 13 yo dd.
Been in contact with 4 positive cases in school. Day 1 of isolation!!!

Hellocatshome · 05/07/2021 16:22

DS2 in isolation, just 6 more days to go 🙈

PurpleWh1teGreen · 05/07/2021 16:40

No, but every time I get an email from school my heart is in my mouth.

Why oh why did I think it was a good idea to book our one mini-break this year, right at the start of the holidays....

mumonthehill · 05/07/2021 16:44

First time for us here! Contact last Wednesday apparently. Even though ds had a negative pcr on Thursday he still has to isolate for 10 days. He is very fed up. First time this has happened in his school

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 05/07/2021 16:46

Me! Me! Me!

Getting fuck all done for work and raging at the government, either vaccinate them or stop the isolations ffs.

MadMadMadamMim · 05/07/2021 16:49

DS (16) is isolating again. He's very pissed off because he's had Covid and is convinced he can't get it again - so doesn't see why he should stay in. Really doesn't see why he can't go to the local pub to watch the England match on (Wed?)

woodfort · 05/07/2021 16:51

Gosh, I didn’t quite comprehend just how lucky we are reading this as we haven’t been sent home from school once (only 1 DC in primary mind). It’s the last week of term this week and from September I’m assuming the bubble rule will be mostly gone so I won’t have to worry every time I see an email from school.

Chillychangchoo · 05/07/2021 17:03

Yes but I haven’t been isolating my kids. They’ve been in and out too many times.

We were done a while ago.

Screamingcowboy99 · 05/07/2021 17:04

Had the kids home since last week.

They bloody finish school in a fortnight FFS. Just let the negative ones go in.

FindingMeno · 05/07/2021 17:09

Nope.
Returned last week following isolation for the umpteenth time between my dc's

StarCourt · 05/07/2021 17:09

Yep school emailed today telling me to collect DD as she needed to self isolate from today.
I asked if she could walk home ( we are 7 mins away ).
School said. But she's only year 7. We'd prefer you to collect her.
She walks to and from school every day!

beentoldcomputersaysno · 05/07/2021 17:12

One has been told today at pick up to isolate for the rest of the week...it's Monday today, so assume kid must have been having symptoms and gone to school anyway last week or else we wouldn't need to isolate?

LadyPenelope68 · 05/07/2021 17:16

@EndSI
And it’s idiots like you who cause cases to rise.

Horst · 05/07/2021 17:30

Don’t think so. My oldest got a positive lft last night as well as a few others in his year group last night/this morning and the bubbles all been sent home despite the tests being carried out technically over 48 hours since being in school.
CeeceeBloomingdale · 05/07/2021 17:32

Yep, four of us in isolation, one with confirmed COVID. The two children were both in isolation due to burst bubbles when the test was taken.

Horst · 05/07/2021 17:32

Ah Misread that. 7 days this week plus the Friday, Saturday and Sunday last week would of been the 10 days so likely a result taking ages or a postal test.

Sloaneslone · 05/07/2021 17:35

Mine came home at 9.20am apparently the case in his class was confirmed at 9.10am

The kids in school are the nursery and reception.
