I read a statistic yesterday that think about 375000 are off school currently due to bubbles bursting!

My dd is currently off and the local high school has three years out!

None here

UpSlyDown · 01/07/2021 17:27

Every year bar one isolating at DDs primary. Tearing our hair out here.

mumsneedwine · 01/07/2021 17:27

127 today

HarrisMcCoo · 01/07/2021 17:29

They're on holiday thank goodness. Got fed up with worrying if one had the slightest cough!

FrancisCross · 01/07/2021 17:32

My 3 are off and 4 year groups off at their primary.

shakeitoffshakeacocktail · 01/07/2021 17:33

Loads in the area, every other school with at least 1 bubble gone in the last fortnight.

My daughter is off and her bubble is out (primary) it's actually her and myself who are positive.

I'm double vaccinated and have felt shit for a week. Daughter (6) also had mild symptoms she was obviously ill. On sofa for a full day refusing food for 2 days, temperature

Neither of us have had a cough although my throat was itchy

Another mum (not a contact of mine/ daughters) is feeling even worse than me she is also double vaccinated

Don't know what to think anymore.

I will recover but it is different to any cold/ flu I've had before. Sheer exhaustion and killer headaches

jazzandh · 01/07/2021 17:34

I've got one off - but it's due to Noro (clear for covid)!

LysistrataVickers · 01/07/2021 17:34

My DS is off until Monday. So all his class (Y2) and Y5 in the same school are off too.

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 01/07/2021 17:35

My DD is out, she's the only one in the house negative.

FrasierCraneDay · 01/07/2021 17:41

Whole secondary and half primary here Shock

kimlo · 01/07/2021 17:42

dd1 is off. It's her second time. First time in isolation she did get covid after a couple of days.

Dd2 has never had to.
My bubble at work has never had to.

shouldistop · 01/07/2021 17:45

My sons nursery is closed. Ds isnt a close contact but there wasn't enough staff to stay open

Daisychainsandglitter · 01/07/2021 17:46

My 6 year old has been off this week- it's not been great.
I feel really sorry for the year below her. They just finished 10 days isolation and went back on Monday only to be turned away at the gates this morning and told to isolate for a further 10 days.
I am totally done with this now. It seems like nonsense when I see all the people at Wimbledon and at football matches on the news.

chaosrabbitland · 01/07/2021 17:47

mine in year 8 is on her second week off , on the 11 june she was told not to come in for the following 10 days as there were some cases of covid i later found out it was only 2 and just for that they sent home 4 whole forms of them , she went back and lasted a total of 2 days as on the 3rd when she went in a lad in her class had tested positive with his crappy lateral flow test so i had to leave work and go and get her , she had only been in for 3 hours and they shut them all in the library , shes back on the 5th and im wondering how long it will be before shes sent home again , im sick to the back teeth of it , i really am

Saidtoomuch · 01/07/2021 17:50

My two are off. One of mine has tested positive and their whole year is off due to several cases. Their sibling is obviously off because of contact isolation, but despite a negative test yesterday has started with that tell tale cough. We've been so careful, but schools seem rife with it.

ginsparkles · 01/07/2021 17:50

None. Haven't had any time off for bubbles bursting/close contact throughout the whole thing. Very rural small school.

Caramellatteplease · 01/07/2021 17:51

I'd feel more reassured if CEV children and their siblings could get the vaccine

Caramellatteplease · 01/07/2021 17:51

Wrong thread

Tiddlywinkly · 01/07/2021 17:54

Yes, my 5 year old is off until next week. Both classes in their cohort are off. Selfishly, I'm worried about a long weekend we've got booked when the school closes in 3 weeks. Got another child (7). Had no isolations for our household since December until now.

Penyu · 01/07/2021 17:55

And now we are hearing that children/teens are purposely faking their lft with all sorts of things (ref. tiktok) to get a positive result, in an apparent attempt to get early holidays! 😳😂 what. A. Fuck up.

SupermanInk · 01/07/2021 17:57

Year 7 daughter is self isolating til next week. Half the school are now isolating due to more cases being found. The school are doing live online lessons so learning isn’t really affected for her.

SupermanInk · 01/07/2021 17:59

Is that true? 😬

hennybeans · 01/07/2021 17:59

My eldest two are off. More than half their secondary school are currently isolating. And we've just been told that year 7 camp the last week of school has been cancelled.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 01/07/2021 18:00

One off here and so many off at their school.

If isolating due to contact someone with a positive LF test, has anyone followed up with the school to see if said case is actually confirmed positive?

aleC4 · 01/07/2021 18:02

The infant school I work in has never had to close a bubble.
We have 1 child off isolating at the moment as her brother is positive.
Local secondary school has 10 off on Y10.
