I read a statistic yesterday that think about 375000 are off school currently due to bubbles bursting!

My dd is currently off and the local high school has three years out!

@SupermanInk Apparently so although they then have to have it confirmed by getting a PCR. This is why I want to follow up with the school to confirm that the case is actually positive so she is not isolating unnecessarily.

Fitforforty · 01/07/2021 18:04

DD1 has just gone back. Local high school has had to completely close due to number of cases.

laselvar · 01/07/2021 18:05

120 kids in our primary school.

floatingboater · 01/07/2021 18:15

Our high school has one whole year group off (3 positives)

Frazzled2207 · 01/07/2021 18:17

One in one out. The school (primary) has only had two bubble closures the whole year which given that we’re in the NW is exceptionally lucky. I think about half the local high school is out.

@SupermanInk

And now we are hearing that children/teens are purposely faking their lft with all sorts of things (ref. tiktok) to get a positive result, in an apparent attempt to get early holidays! 😳😂 what. A. Fuck up.

Is that true? 😬

inews.co.uk/news/technology/tiktok-fake-covid-test-forced-self-isolate-friend-learned-1081300?ito=twitter_share_article-top. Was trending on Twitter today, Jeremy Vine picked it up. As a teacher of this age group, nothing would surprise me. Younger primary, I doubt it.

yes apparently it is , i read the article , if you put fruit shoot or any other kind of fruit juice on it , a positive result comes up , its summit to do with the acid in the juice , its been shared on tik tok which more than half my dds school is obsessed with
sunshineandshowers21 · 01/07/2021 18:24

both my boys are off, years 2 and 8 in different schools. first time for my youngest, third time for my eldest. also my two year old isn’t in nursery as half the staff have covid at the moment and they’ve had to close.

10storeylovesong · 01/07/2021 20:20

My son is isolating. My two best friends sons are isolating. All different schools in one small town - one had only been back 2 days from previous 10 days. One of my staffs daughter is isolating and two of my staffs kids tested positive this week.

Stretchandsnap · 01/07/2021 20:24

DD2s year 5 group off - 90 children

Waxonwaxoff0 · 01/07/2021 20:44

DS has not had to isolate ever. Long may it continue.

Verite1 · 01/07/2021 20:46

Yep. My DD.

Mercedes519 · 01/07/2021 20:47

Had one sent home and then back in due to positive LF and then negative PCR so they are insisting on PCR.

Older one was close contact but then they’ve shut the whole year this week anyway and gone back to online learning.

Roll on the end of term…

MarshaBradyo · 01/07/2021 20:48

None I’m hoping it lasts

Yr11 is finished anyway but yr6 and nursery still in

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 01/07/2021 20:50

4 classes and nursery out here and the local pub is shut (might be connected 🤷‍♀️)

TheDukeissoHot1 · 01/07/2021 20:57

DS(10) is currently isolating, back to school tomorrow for him thankfully.

Local secondary has also got hundreds of kids now isolating, with multiple cases across most year groups.

Seems to be rife at the minute.

Lemons1571 · 01/07/2021 21:01

Rural town here, nothing until last week. All schools normal. It’s suddenly exploded, there are now whole year groups in multiple schools all isolating at home. The gov.uk stats are a few days behind and still showing as 0-2 cases but it’s gone crazy here. So many cases and close contacts, that the rest of the kids are being sent home so the school can provide 100% remote learning rather than a few in and most out.

duckme · 01/07/2021 21:10

Two of my three are off. Two different schools. One goes back tomorrow and the other on Monday.
Sick to death of it all.

Shieldingending · 01/07/2021 21:16

Mine is off isolating again Sad

EasterIssland · 01/07/2021 21:19

Not my son but
Nephew is self isolating 12yp
Friends son is self isolating 15yo
One of my sons nurssery class is as well

Macarena1990 · 01/07/2021 21:23

DD (15) is currently on her 6th isolation. Really concerned about her mental health - she is so fed up and frustrated.

Younger 2 have had 1 lot each.

LBOCS2 · 01/07/2021 21:24

We've had one off for ten days, yesterday got the call to say that the other now had to isolate. Had them both at home today. It's a nightmare.

devastating · 01/07/2021 21:26

My youngest is at home along with the rest of the entire year group (8 forms - approx 240 students).

At work we have 67 students from one year group isolating.

Malteser71 · 01/07/2021 21:29

I’ve removed mine. They are fit and well. There’s no point sending them to school any more, the risk of being told to isolate isn’t worth it.

ByThePool2021 · 01/07/2021 21:43

None. 4dc spread over 4 different schools - 3 secondaries and 1 primary and no one has had to isolate since December. I think we’ve been very lucky. From what I gather there has been about 5 or 6 cases across all the schools since Easter, but non of their year groups have been affected
