I read a statistic yesterday that think about 375000 are off school currently due to bubbles bursting!

My dd is currently off and the local high school has three years out!

Mine's still there.
(Touch wood) not had to be off since we all went back.
One class not so lucky though and are having to self isolate this week.

Bristol here its awful.

I have 3 kids 3 different schools.
Dd1 seniors all year 7 off some close contacts other years and least half year 10 as someone came in whilst awaiting results of test.
She feels unwell tonight headache but negative lateral flow.

Ds2 150 kids 25 staff so half school off all year groups she no longer wants be there and feels really anxious.
Her transition day to seniors cancelled.

Dd3 all its a mess took him breakfast club text saying bubble burst member of staff postive.
Then email lunchtime
Then they said they could go back next day as the case wassnt linked to case 1 in different class and that member staff been off.
So sent in Friday to get email Sunday saying all those who attended fri have self isolate.
Husband was cross as said we should not sent him in .
It then spread with 8 new cases and they spread it to their parent's.
Anyway 10days past I was supposed send back tue but dident.
Wed am 1st thing text saying confirmed postive case another 10 days.
Because he was home no need self isolate but are home learning and I can see effect its having on everyone its grim back to back 10 day isolating.

Some primary and secondary school in city fully shut some due staffing issues.
Don't know many local schools without cases.
Much worse than before xmas.

I have no idea how these kids are going to catch up on so much missed exucation

Wheresmybiscuit3 · 02/07/2021 10:48

Mine are in school. I have no idea if any of the bubbles have burst in the school as they don’t say.

sempiternal · 02/07/2021 10:58

Yes DD's class are isolating.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 02/07/2021 11:01

Yep. DS has been sent home this morning due to someone in his class testing positive. He’s in Yr 10 and there’s at least 23 of them off in his class.

trying29 · 02/07/2021 11:02

not right now but 5 school years were out at the same time in early May in our south london primary

derailment · 02/07/2021 11:34

Yep. No burst bubble as yet but reception child has a cough so we're at home waiting for test results.

BlueJay12 · 02/07/2021 13:54

My year 8 DD is currently in her FOURTH spell of isolation - enough is enough

tearsandtiaras · 02/07/2021 14:04

yes

WarriorN · 02/07/2021 15:50

25% of the school.

Thatswhathappens · 02/07/2021 16:28

It’s awful reading all of this, my dd is really struggling this time as she is year six and due to leave school in a few weeks and now they are isolating until never enough the end of term, everything has been cancelled they had planes and my dd is truly broken at the moment!
From news reports I have read they may not be even carrying bubbles on in September!

Both my year 4 and year 2 children are off until the 10th. It's ridiculous now

Pickersgill · 02/07/2021 16:37

Notified today that my y7 and y9 have to self isolate. DD is clinically vulnerable. Sad

Ethelswith · 02/07/2021 16:44

I have one off - one of her BFFs was symptomatic (temperature) the day before yesterday and has had a positive LFT (yes, I know they shouldn't have) and closest contacts are off at least until her PCR is back, but today's news is that another girl in the year (also a good friend) has had a positive PCR, so I expect quite a lot will be off pretty soon.
