Because no one wants to use them, what a waste of money.

We've done loads and never registered the results. So they're not wasted. I am pleased we have them as they give a degree of reassurance ahead of seeing people; I think the roll out of LFTs has worked well, just wish we'd had them last year too.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 26/06/2021 07:51

I don't forget to register my negative results with the NHS: the first time I saw what a faff it was - as if I'm going to go through that twice a week.

user68901 · 26/06/2021 08:34

Registered negative ones with school website but got fed up of the nhs logging system. I just couldn't be arsed with the faff.

SleepyMathematician · 26/06/2021 09:01

The NHS logging system is stupid. I don’t mind doing my own as I’m registered and it’s not too bad but to report other family members I have to go through a ridiculous rigmarole every single time. I’m don’t have time for that. So although we are doing them, we aren’t often reporting.
If they want it reported they need to make it MUCH quicker and easier.

Three of us taking twice weekly tests here ( so effectively a box a week) however I have 2 spare boxes as I will need to take more as I have more face to face meetings and you can only order one box at a time. So if I forget one week it is not the end of the world.

Lanique · 26/06/2021 09:19

We've used kids but have never bothered to log them - too much faff.

Lanique · 26/06/2021 09:19

Used loads, not kids Blush

BatshitCrazyWoman · 26/06/2021 09:20

@ChocOrange1

I wanted to do one test before visiting an elderly relative. They gave me 4 boxes full, so I have 27 tests sitting in the cupboard unused. I'm sure plenty of other prior have the same.
I got sent one box with 7 tests in it. I use them weekly for care home/supported living visiting, it's a pain to have to keep ordering them (I don't pass a pharmacy on my way anywhere - perhaps I should make a special trip to get lots!)
Icequeen01 · 26/06/2021 09:40

I work in a tiny SEN school. We are going under in the damn things. I actually phoned the DfE and asked them to stop sending them and asked them if they could collect the box loads of stuff they sent us when we were going to be doing the testing in school as you now can't use that stuff. They said at the moment they have no plans to collect the redundant stuff. We have no storage and we now have literally box loads. We give them out to staff, some of whom are testing (but not many!). It's ridiculous.
