How long are people currently waiting for results? Test was at walk through site at 5pm Tuesday- hoping it won't be 2-3 days they said!
In an area of high infection and rapid increase!

Dh has COVID so I can’t go out anyway, but nhs sent me a pcr home test to do as a close contact on a trial thing.

I sent it back yesterday afternoon, it got delivered 8pm last night still no results. I’ll update when they come through.

danni0509 · 23/06/2021 22:09

@Motleyvegetables ring and ask, is it 119. I had this before and the test wasn’t registered, they did it on the phone and the result came through in 10 minutes x

Motleyvegetables · 23/06/2021 22:12

I think I will @danni0509, especially as both you and @wejammin have mentioned having issues in the past

byvirtue · 23/06/2021 22:18

I posted mine at 4.15pm yesterday got my results 7.15pm today.

Negative, would like my sense of taste back now please.

cocoloco987 · 23/06/2021 22:21

I got my latest results the same day - tested at 11.30am results by 7, however I'm still waiting for my November test results so reliability varies

stuckinarutatwork · 23/06/2021 22:44

9 hrs (we're in Devon). DD was tested at 9:15 this morning and we got the text at 6:05 this evening.

stuckinarutatwork · 23/06/2021 22:48

@MrsWarleggan

To all the negative test resulters: What made you get a test. Symptoms, close contact etc.
DD had a temp (and sore throat).
Motleyvegetables · 23/06/2021 23:04

Just to update I contacted 119 and our test has been registered. The call handler said that sometimes they come back in 8hrs and other times they can take longer (we’re at 37hrs now) Back to hoping it’s negative and back in time to send them to school tomorrow.

This time a close contact, the time before dd was a close contact and I thought I might as well do a test seeing I was taking her - missed out on starting LF tests as I was off with her and couldn't collect them and the first time dd and I were both really unwell. That's the time I didn't get my results back although dd was negative.

Crunchymum · 24/06/2021 06:42

8 hours for the most recent test.

11am test and results back at 6.45pm and it was a Sunday too so kids didn't have to miss any school (was negative)

Crunchymum · 24/06/2021 06:43

DD2 has yet another cough (had a nasty one in Mid May which was negative too) hence the PCR test.

Motleyvegetables · 24/06/2021 06:59

40hrs altogether before we got the negative confirmation email.

1happyhippie · 24/06/2021 07:02

Our area were told to get everyone 12-30 yrs old tested this week for a spike in cases.
My dds were tested 4 pm on Tuesday, we are still waiting for the results
We are in cumbria

nonsensenow · 24/06/2021 07:28

We tested at 9.15 yesterday at a drive through as my 4 year old had a cough, 6 year old a slight cough and runny nose. I've had a runny nose / sneezes and itchy eyes so put it down the hay fever. We tested as a family. No results yet.

academicallyblonde · 24/06/2021 08:22

Still waiting for ours after 24 hours. This for the second test as the one we did the day before came back as unclear. Nightmare. We’re literally sitting by the door ready to go to school as soon as it comes through. (I’m a teacher and already been off 2 days). When we last did one 6 weeks ago it came back in 12 hours. I guess more people are testing now.

danni0509 · 24/06/2021 08:29

I posted my home test Tuesday 4pm, was received at a lab at 8pm (I tracked royal mail) results 1am this morning via email, 7am by text. So less than 48 hours.

Negative result.

IHeartKingThistle · 24/06/2021 09:10

24 hours and nothing yet. Have had loads of negative LFTs so it was only to put my mind at rest but it's stressing me out!!!

mrswhiplington · 24/06/2021 10:18

Had my test at 9am yesterday and got results through at 2.06am today. They put us on something called a Spitfire test they are trialling which guarantees results within 24 hours.

cupcakecourageous · 24/06/2021 10:25

@IHeartKingThistle

I tested positive (PCR), but daily lateral flows didn't start showing positive until four days later - just a warning that the lateral flows only show positive when the viral load is incredibly high and you've been contagious for quite a while already.

Good luck with your PCR results x

IHeartKingThistle · 24/06/2021 10:31

Oh god don't say that, I want it to just be a bad cold!!! You're right though which is why I went for a PCR.

BunTooti · 24/06/2021 11:16

25 hours, walk in test site. South Yorkshire.

espressoontap · 24/06/2021 11:19

We got ours 26hrs later. Such a relief to be negative.

ListenLinda · 24/06/2021 11:51

I tested at 11am at a drive through centre yesterday. No results yet. Last time any of us had a test the results were so quick (test at 3pm, results via email 2am next morning)

The drive through test centre was the busiest I have seen it though…

ListenLinda · 24/06/2021 13:07

Just got them through, negative. So 26 hours.

IHeartKingThistle · 24/06/2021 13:33

Just got a negative. 26 hours. Phew
