How long for PCR results?

How long are people currently waiting for results? Test was at walk through site at 5pm Tuesday- hoping it won't be 2-3 days they said!
In an area of high infection and rapid increase!

My son had his at 1pm and we got the results the next morning when we woke up (the actual email was sent a 01:05)

We have received all our results from walk-in or drive-through centres in less than 12 hours. Postal one was about 20 hours from posting.

I posted one back yesterday at 8am.. it was delivered to the lab by RM at 6.30pm (followed the tracking) and still waiting .. frustrating as I have two appointments this afternoon I’m now hanging on for.. 🙏🏼

About 23 hours in the end!

I had a walk in PCR test yesterday at 1pm. Still not had results. Kids off school. Having to book dog walker for tomorrow as Ddog didn't get a walk today

Also after some answers! We tested at drive through site 4.30 yesterday and had nothing through yet. Last time we had results back in 14 hours.

Just to add a work colleague had a walk in test at 8am yesterday and got her results at 11 today.

Hmm ours was a walk in one too, but I asked this on another post before. Do the test need checking in a amount of certain hours like blood test do ect or because it's a virus it just stays alive on the swab?

Waiting here as well - tested toddler at a walk-in at 10am yesterday but no response yet.

We've had three tests over the past year in our house, longest was 25 hours, but a friend had one two days ago and still hadn't had results after 36 hours.

We got tested 10am a few days ago and received results by text 12hrs later

We still waiting been 24hrs now.

Our household has lived at the sodding test centre (or so it feels...!). Average wait time 24 hours. Quickest return 12 hours. Longest 5 days! Most recent was about 30 hours I think.

I had a test at a drive-in centre in the south west on Monday morning, had the result within 12 hours. I was very impressed.

One in May was 20 hours and one in early June was 27 hours (different children, same test centre)

DC3 and I are in hospital (planned admission) and had a PCR test on admission yesterday 4pm. No results yet.

We had done a test on my 6 year old at 9 am yesterday, still waiting...

We just recieved it and a negative!

We’re waiting on a result for DD before both DC can go back to school. Test was at 9.30am yesterday and nothing yet. It’s our first test so not sure how long to expect.
I just text my MiL though as she is a nurse in a dementia home and she’s only just got the results of her test, taken on Monday morning (tested weekly at work) she said that’s the longest wait yet

We have got our results back - 24 hours later. Negative!

My son had the test yesterday at 12.30pm at a drive through this is the longest we ever waited!

I've done a drive through one for my son twice in the last 3 weeks. First came back in 13 hours and second came back in 22 hours.

Anyone done a recent postal PCR? If yes, how long did it take for your results please?

At a drive through last week it was almost to the minute 24 hours.
