How long for PCR results?

How long are people currently waiting for results? Test was at walk through site at 5pm Tuesday- hoping it won't be 2-3 days they said!
In an area of high infection and rapid increase!

Finally had our back as well - 28hrs and negative result.

MsSquiz · 17/06/2021 14:23

We all tested at 1:30pm on Friday and got our results by 11am on Saturday

Dottydoodoo · 17/06/2021 14:51

My DS was tested at 4.30 yesterday afternoon and we got a negative result through at 7.30 this morning. Cue a super speedy school run! I was very impressed how quickly it came back.

Lipsandlashes · 17/06/2021 15:16

Still nothing for us Sad I hate waiting for things - especially when I want DDs back at school!

Smile3 · 17/06/2021 16:59

@Dottydoodoo yes ours came at 8.10 and I was like come on kids school. Bless them didn't know how quick they could do it when they tried Grin they wanted to go back but isolated as younger brother had symptoms. Turns out my lo has a chest infection been at the docs this afternoon.

Lipsandlashes · 17/06/2021 18:01

Test result now back and it’s negative

espressoontap · 22/06/2021 12:04

Taken my two for tests this morning. Hoping we get a quick turnaround to send the older one back to school. He started with a cough yesterday but is otherwise fine, DD is 9 months and has a temp and viral rash which I'm sure is teething.

Bloody covid - so stressful.

mejon · 22/06/2021 12:12

Tested at 3pm yesterday afternoon. Result via email at just gone 6 this morning (text was over an hour later so lucky we checked email first!).

MrsWarleggan · 22/06/2021 15:57

To all the negative test resulters: What made you get a test. Symptoms, close contact etc.

Smile3 · 22/06/2021 16:35

Yeah our were cough, night temp also a snotty nose which that's apparently a symptom of new variant 🤷‍♀️ this was on a 2 year old and after neg result took docs and was viral chest infection, which is still lingering!

mejon · 22/06/2021 22:18

@MrsWarleggan

To all the negative test resulters: What made you get a test. Symptoms, close contact etc.
Health Board via school and LA sent out emails last week asking anyone with a range of other symptoms to get tested - mild cold symptoms like sore throat, stuffy/runny nose, sneezing, headache or general flu-like symptoms or just feeling 'not right'.

DD had a sore throat on Friday evening but gone by Saturday, then bunged-up nose which became a little runny with the odd sneeze over the weekend. I felt it was probably 'just' a cold or due to the high pollen count, but wanted to make sure in light of the email request which will have been sent for a reason. Lots of her schoolmates have also been tested with similar symptoms and those that have come back have been negative too, so there's something going round but thankfully not Covid.

MrsWarleggan · 23/06/2021 07:29

@mejon

Thanks for that! I'm currently 22 hours and waiting. Was hoping for a negative over night so that DD1 could go to childminders today. She's climbing the walls. I've had to self isolate as close contact, so that means she hasn't been able to go out anywhere and DD6 can't go to school as got no one to do school run. So infuriating!! 😡

cupcakecourageous · 23/06/2021 08:26

PCR tests results taking about 12 hours here on the north west (we've got many new pop up testing centres due to is being a hotspot)

funtimefrank · 23/06/2021 08:42

SW here. Test at 8 yesterday, results at 6 this morning. School suggested test due to headache and mild temp and she was a negative

MrsWarleggan · 23/06/2021 09:25

Bang on 24hrs. Negative. Still have to self isolate though 🤦‍♀️

espressoontap · 23/06/2021 10:56

Urgh we are 25hrs now and still waiting. DS is driving me insane.

Fitforforty · 23/06/2021 11:02

I was request to by the Zoe app, my symptoms were fatigue and runny nose and sore eyes.

wejammin · 23/06/2021 13:09

29 hours waiting so far here, in the north west - @cupcakecourageous, based on your post does that mean it's got lost Sad?

Kids are climbing the walls and we're mid loft-extension so there's noise and mess everywhere. DS (age 2) had a temperature at nursery so he can't go back without the results.

cupcakecourageous · 23/06/2021 13:41

@wejammin I'd definitely phone with your barcode (although they did say 48 hours to me....but myself, DD, DH and 7 colleagues have all had tests back within a day though)

Good luck x

wejammin · 23/06/2021 14:05

@cupcakecourageous thanks so much, just rang up and it hadn't been registered! The results came through straight away, I would have been sitting there for 72 hours otherwise. Thankfully negative and everyone can get back to school and nursery!

notapizzaeater · 23/06/2021 18:52

Did a postal one Sunday - collected from me about 11am, results Monday morning.

MarshaBradyo · 23/06/2021 18:53

Fast 24 hours here

feellikeanalien · 23/06/2021 19:31

Went to a walk through centre with DD at 2.00 pm on Monday and got results by text at 7.50 next morning with a negative result.

However I then got an email at 6 that evening to say that the email confirming the negative result was wrong and that the results were void.

Luckily I hadn't taken DD to school because she had been sick on Monday so can't go back until tomorrow. We had to go for another test today, drive through this time.

I'm pretty sure DD doesn't have Covid but if I had sent her to school yesterday on the strength of the negative test It could have had really bad consequences for her class.

cupcakecourageous · 23/06/2021 19:54

@wejammin thats great news!

Motleyvegetables · 23/06/2021 22:00

We’re in London. I went to walk in with my 5 year old at 9.30am yesterday, still not had the results. Both kids have been off school for the past two days and are climbing the walls. Am crossing my fingers for a negative before the school run tomorrow morning!
