Would you report a multi household holiday?

Rosie65834 · 16/06/2021 07:32

UK holiday booked in a rented house for 10th July with 4 households/8 people. The group is conflicted about whether to cancel given the extension of the rules. If the holiday is cancelled it won't be possible to rearrange.

If you owned a holiday let, would you check or care?

If you lived next door to one, would you report a multi household holiday?

Theoretically, the group could say they are 2 households. Would anyone challenge it?

I wouldn’t report you unless it had a negative effect on me. E.g. If I live next to the holiday accomodation and you were being piss taking inconsiderate wankers with e.g. Bad parking, rowdy behaviour and loud music. Then I’d report you just out of spite. Otherwise no, crack on and enjoy yourselves.

Randominternetbitch · 16/06/2021 09:35

Oh come on, these responses are so diappointing! Not only should the OP be reported to the Covid Police but I was expecting at least a few posters to call for parading them through the streets to a chorus of shame and being pelted by socially distanced righteous folk with rotten fruit and veg. At the very least someone NEEDS to be calling the OP a granny murderer!

Where are all my covid rule police at?

Hallyup6 · 16/06/2021 09:35

Wouldn't care. Go and enjoy.

Flaxmeadow · 16/06/2021 09:38

I would be amazed if a hard pressed holiday let company raised questions on this..like many holiday businesses they need the cash and will be grateful for the business.

Holiday let's are fully booked and are having to turn people away all the time. They don't need to break the rules and would probably prefer customers who didn't either. A holiday maker can walk away after a week, it isnt their business on the line. Same in retail, pubs, restaurants etc, who will have also gone through the rules with a fine tooth comb

Grin finally the tide is turning in favour of common sense...

Where are all my covid rule police at?

They all looked at the photos of our dear PM and his blatent, couldn't give a toss hypocrisy. There was no mistaking anything from those.

DeathByWalkies · 16/06/2021 09:40

I wouldn't report you - I have a life and better things to think about - but don't be surprised if the holiday let cancels on you.

GilbertsLuckySocks · 16/06/2021 09:42

We enquired after booking a party for my son’s 12th at a trampoline venue.

It’s blurb states two households only at the party, maximum 6 kids.

Impossible, unless your son has 5 friends all from the same household !

I phoned and they said, ‘it’s up to you really’ when I mentioned the attendees would be from 6 different households. And that they wouldn’t check households.
To be fair, the venue is run by youngsters. There’s nobody over 25 working there even at manager level.

So. It’s all a bunch of lip service nonsense isn’t it, these rules of no more than two households mixing.

I won’t even start on the total lack of social distancing and Covid cleanliness in my distribution warehouse ! Shock

PotassiumChloride · 16/06/2021 09:43

Jesus, who has time to monitor and report their neighbours for having the temerity to go on holiday??

Mrsjayy · 16/06/2021 09:43

I mean we have football with hundreds of people traveling to games staying god knows where all thats fine and dandy but 3 families can't go on holiday together,it's turning Into a total farce.

Endofether · 16/06/2021 09:45

Wtf! Gestapo !

advancenames · 16/06/2021 09:46

With holiday lets there's a risk that neighbours have been annoyed by issues in the past - parties, noise, parking etc, so might be happy to report something that seems to be breaking the rules. I think I'd probably cancel, but I'm quite risk averse so would spend my holiday worrying about getting fined.

Roonerspismed · 16/06/2021 09:46

No because I’m not a snitching bitch!

PineappleMojito · 16/06/2021 09:46

I wouldn’t give a shiney shite and would mind my own business and let others live their lives how they see fit.

wigjuice · 16/06/2021 09:47

I've truly gone past caring.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 16/06/2021 09:47

@NannyAndJohn

Let me put it this way, OP - I won't have any sympathy for you if you are caught out and fined.
Why doesn't that surprise me? Confused
MyDcAreMarvel · 16/06/2021 09:52

No, why would you?? because people health and life is more important than someone’s holiday.

MyDcAreMarvel · 16/06/2021 09:52

No because I’m not a snitching bitch!
Are you 11?

KateOr · 16/06/2021 09:53

Yes, if you are going to be my neighbours and are:
Squeezing eight into a let for six
Noisy, really noisy, - screaming kids, music, hire a hot tub
Park inconsiderably so we have to disturb you to do the school run

Then I will rain down vengeance upon your head, get all the two stroke garden appliances running and dump a big heap of fertiliser upwind.
I'm struggling a bit with the tourists at the moment, just found a camp of five vans at a quiet beach and the rubbish and smell of piss has made us very sad.

Could you please, please also send just one adult into the supermarkets, it's Morrisons, I'm sure the kids can guess what ice-cream flavours are available.

HareofEasttown · 16/06/2021 09:54

No because I don't live like that

Oly4 · 16/06/2021 09:55

No! And they’ve probably had vaccines

Mammymar · 16/06/2021 09:56

No, I wouldn't report it.

bringincrazyback · 16/06/2021 10:00

@zippyswife

No one really reports that kind of thing anymore do they?
To go by the things I read on this forum, there are some who would report people for breathing these days, so it wouldn't surprise me. I hate how 1984 our society is becoming.
woodfort · 16/06/2021 10:02

I would struggle to find something I care less about tbh.

And we are following the rules but honestly a big part of that is that we are quite an introverted house and 2 households is kind of our max anyway.

everybodysang · 16/06/2021 10:02

@Charmtaste

After the G7 BBQ I don’t think anyone cares about the rules anymore.
why? Because people had a barbecue outdoors? You know you're allowed to do that, right?
