The reason I like this thread is because of your sane, sensible reactions when I am having a wobble. I could post elsewhere "this has happened! Help'" and certain people would reply "Well, it is a pandemic, I'm afraid! Just stay at home, 1000,000 deaths a day by July, close the schools now and think yourself lucky you're not living through the Blitz!"
Whereas you lot give me "no, that's not great, but realistically, consider XYZ and how we've moved forward" and I feel much better. It's not hiding my head in the sand, it's putting things into perspective.
I don't need fluffy kittens, I need real people who can point out the light switch when I'm stuck in the dark.

PomRuns · 24/06/2021 15:04

Ok I retract the need for a fluffy kitten. I was just referring to how cheered we were in difficult times by pictures. My recollection anyway - to quote the Queen ‘recollections may differ ‘

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/06/2021 16:05

I can’t remember the name of the little donkey who cheered us up in the long winter months on the Good News Thread. We need him back.

Also agree with Reachersloveintrest’S version.

carolinesbaby · 24/06/2021 16:35

Marzipan?
I'm up for a revival of Marzipan. Anything equine gets my vote. I'd vote Tory if they promised free riding lessons 😂

thatgingergirl · 24/06/2021 17:08

Ha! I'd just opened a box of chocolate marzipan before scrolling through the board! That'll do for me, but happy to see a 'photo too!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 24/06/2021 17:14

Hospital admissions are falling. That's good news, right?

PomRuns · 24/06/2021 17:19

Tbh I liked the flowers that were posted too.

I'll back away now !

As in daily admissions or people in hospital?
LivinLaVidaLoki · 24/06/2021 17:39

Daily admissions @TheChineseChicken

TheChineseChicken · 24/06/2021 17:40

Thanks

Cafeaulait27 · 24/06/2021 18:24

Apparently we still have the lowest death rate in Europe, so that’s something.

EasterIssland · 24/06/2021 18:42

Northern Ireland adds Balearics, Malta and some Caribbean islands to travel green lis

PomRuns · 24/06/2021 18:54

That’s something - I’ll rebook our flights.

PomRuns · 24/06/2021 18:55

Ah misread - hopefully the same…

lomaamina · 24/06/2021 19:08

@LivinLaVidaLoki

Daily admissions *@TheChineseChicken*
More on this here: “concerning #coronavirus case numbers coming in, but better news from daily hospital admissions in England. Numbers here have suddenly stalled and gone into reverse: by Tuesday (and on a seven-day basis) there had actually been three days of falls.” Via twitter.com/gsoh31/status/1408089200864464896?s=20

I think Spain changes their list next week, that the current one is until the 27

MarshaBradyo · 24/06/2021 19:45

That’s great re hospitalisation stalling and going in reverse

That’s what we need!

BunsyGirl · 24/06/2021 19:47

I’ve got a holiday booked for Malta so keeping everything crossed that they will still let us in!!!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/06/2021 20:06

Yes it was marzipan. He was adorable.

Bordois · 24/06/2021 20:21

Woo, if you're vaccinated you won't have to quarantine when you come back from an amber country 🥳

Maybe next month isn’t it. ?

That’s great! Do you still have to PCR tests?
carolinesbaby · 24/06/2021 20:25

I was so hoping for that news but I still cannot book anything because they haven't said WHEN. Feels like the carrot on the end of a long stick.

Bordois · 24/06/2021 20:25

Actual hospital admissions compared to the Warwick graph of doom.

TBF, considering the case numbers over the last few days I do expect there will be a bit of a rise in a week or so. However, if its the case that its younger people getting it from socialising, etc. I would also expect to see the trend in short stays continuing too.

And this is the people in hospital graph too.
