I had my 2nd AZ on the 4th of June and as a health anxiety sufferer have been very on edge for the last ten days. Just hoping to hear from others who have had theirs.

I had mine weeks ago. 5 weeks I think? Maybe 6?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/06/2021 00:07

Had mine last Thursday, needed a couple of afternoon maps and terrible headache yesterday but fine today.

user1471453601 · 15/06/2021 00:07

I've had AZ so has my daughter, her partner and four of my frienfs. All of us are fine.

Why are you on edge? I understand you have health a nxity, but whst, in particular is making you anxious?

wetwiped · 15/06/2021 00:08

Had mine 6th June after much deliberating as also struggle with health anxiety.

Titsywoo · 15/06/2021 00:10

Had my second AZ end of March

alexdgr8 · 15/06/2021 00:20

had my second one in mid april, i think.
no ill effects.
did have a few with first one, slight shivery, muscle aches, esp in that arm which lasted a while, and spaced out feeling. felt a bit like i imagine a hangover to be. but overall nothing much, and well worth it to get jab.
this was all on first one.
nothing at all second one . AZ.
hope you are feeling ok, OP ?

LazyDragonTooth · 15/06/2021 00:21

Had my second 2 weeks ago, had a full week of terrible headaches after but no arm pain. 1st one had 4 days terrible headaches but 3 weeks of arm pain, literally couldn't raise my arm and accidentally leaning on that arm made me scream it was so bad. All gone now! I was worried about this bloodclot thing, that all came out after my first dose, I'm probably very high risk but nothing so far.

Longdistance · 15/06/2021 00:21

Had my second about 3 weeks ago. All good. The first one made me feel yuck, haven’t felt anything with the 2nd dose.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 15/06/2021 00:22

Had mine at the end of March. Still here :)

ScrambledSmegs · 15/06/2021 00:22

Yes, had it on Wednesday last week, no side effects at all. Although this time it really flipping hurt, the first time I barely noticed it.

I understand feeling on edge, my DH has health anxiety and he's worried about getting his second. It's fair enough, it's ok to feel worried and I'm trying to support him without being pushy. To be fair I was called for my second at 6 weeks after the first which is significantly earlier than I expected, he's just going by the guidance (which keeps changing!).

ScrambledSmegs · 15/06/2021 00:24

Oh and I get loads of migraines which my GP laughingly told me might put me in the high risk category but he wasn't sure about that. Which makes me feel wonderful; as you can imagine Hmm. But so far so good.

GrimDamnFanjo · 15/06/2021 00:25

Me. Very few side effects this time. I also barely felt it which is not like me at all.

Kaylasmum49 · 15/06/2021 00:26

Thanks for the replies.

It's the worry of blood clots that is scaring me. I think the occu6in 2nd doses is 1 in 60000 atm.

Me. No side effects at all. Not even a sore arm.

FactsAndFigs · 15/06/2021 00:34

Is there any reason why 10days? I am anxious about getting 2nd dose as within few hrs of 1st vaccination I went down hard being unwell it 2wks before got any energy back. I assumed if no adverse effects within 48hrs be ok.

Kaylasmum49 · 15/06/2021 00:37

The risk is from 4 days to 28 days from what I've read.

Yep. Had mine about 7 weeks ago. Felt a bit shit for a while, but I'm fine.

I was unwell after my 1st. Like mild covid. Nothing after the 2nd.

AnotherSunrise · 15/06/2021 00:47

Had mine... no problems at all

Blessex · 15/06/2021 00:49

I have so many other things to worry about it doesn’t even cross my mind to worry about something that is extremely unlikely to happen. If anything I am relieved I have now had my second.

Lucienandjean · 15/06/2021 00:51

I'm over fifty. After my first jab I had a fever and aching limbs for about 24 hours. Also a very painful arm with a huge red lump on it.

After my second jab...nothing. No aching arm, no shivers, nothing.

I'm over 50 Have had both AZ jabs. 9 weeks apart. Didn't feel the jab going in either time. (I do have B12 jabs regularly which can sting a lot so maybe this is why the AZ jab felt like nothing) Sore arm after 1st jab but felt fine with no other side affects. 2nd jab I didn't even have the sore arm. I wouldn't have known I'd had the jab if I hadn't been there.
alexdgr8 · 15/06/2021 01:04

i am well over 50.
i think extreme headache is the symptom to watch out for, as those very rare blood clots are not the normal kind.
worse than an acute migraine apparently.
i just had general malaise for less than a day after first jab, plus a lingering arm muscle ache, and nothing at all after second.
the risks from covid are much worse. hurrah for the vaccine.
