I had my 2nd AZ on the 4th of June and as a health anxiety sufferer have been very on edge for the last ten days. Just hoping to hear from others who have had theirs.

OP posts:
Kathy2020 · 17/06/2021 09:43

@Anamaz I had it at 15weeks

SprayedWithDettol · 17/06/2021 09:46

Yes had both A Z and over 50. I’m absolutely fine. Currently on my spin bike sweating profusely as I normally would.

oneglassandpuzzled · 17/06/2021 09:50

Had mine three weeks ago. No problems. Ditto my husband and all the friends I know who had AZ.

toolatetooearly · 17/06/2021 10:04

Yup, about 3 weeks. Although I felt crappy after the first jab, I had zero side-effects after the second.

ComDummings · 17/06/2021 10:07

Had mine a few weeks ago. Zero effects!

Livpool · 17/06/2021 10:07

I had mine a few weeks ago - no issues

ComDummings · 17/06/2021 10:07

Side effects I mean

123abcyellowredblue · 17/06/2021 11:21

Im in my 40s. Have had both AZ jabs. Symptoms far less after 2nd jab. Nearly 4 weeks past 2nd jab now and no problems

moofolk · 17/06/2021 11:22

I've had mine five or six weeks ago and feel great.

It seems to have shifted my long Covid and I haven't felt this good since February 2020.

moofolk · 17/06/2021 11:24

I'm 42 btw.

Sore, very heavy arm after first one but felt better the day after than I had in a couple of weeks, and only very slightly tender arm after second.

enjoyingscience · 17/06/2021 11:26

Yep, had mine about a month ago. No side effects.

thismeansnothing · 17/06/2021 11:27

DH had his last week. He was sick as a dog with the first. But this one he was fine. Sore arm for a couple of days and that's about it

WeatherwaxOn · 17/06/2021 11:29

Over 50. Had my second jab 2 weeks ago (brought forward, originally due today). I felt a bit more tired than usual during the afternoon and the next day.
No headaches, nausea, cold feeling or sore arm.

Wobblysausage · 17/06/2021 11:31

I had it but only because otherwise I’d have lost my job! I wouldn’t have had it otherwise.

I had it last week, 16 weeks after having my first, because I was really unwell with my first and I was so scared to have it! The second one didn’t hurt, my arm didn’t hurt at all and I just felt a bit tired for a few days. I do have health anxiety and now I’m looking for symptoms of a blood clot to appear and probably will be for the next few weeks. I’m not over 50 though but still a bit anxious.

Mammyloveswine · 17/06/2021 11:35

I've had mine...I've also a history of blood clots!! I'm only in my early 30s too..

The doctor was more than happy for me to have my second dose (the guidance changed between my doses) but didn't put pressure on me just explained the odds etc.

I decided the small risk of blood clots was less of a concern than me catching Covid.

TooManyPlatesInMotion · 17/06/2021 11:39

I am having my second next week - managed to bring my appt forward! No side effects first time.

strangeshapedpotato · 17/06/2021 11:41

@Kaylasmum49

Thanks for the replies.

It's the worry of blood clots that is scaring me. I think the occu6in 2nd doses is 1 in 60000 atm.

Nope

The risk may be 1 in 60,000 with the first dose, although it's important to note that most of those people make a full recovery.

The risk is much lower with a second dose - presumably because if a person was susceptible, they'd react to their first dose. While anyone who did react to their first dose, wouldn't have a second dose!

It's currently estimated at between 1 in 600,000 and 1 in 1,000,000

HelloMissus · 17/06/2021 11:42

I had my second recently.
Felt ropey after the first, but no problems after my second. Not even a sore arm.

PioneerWoman · 17/06/2021 11:45

I am 54 and had my second AZ 9 days ago, absolutely fine. Nurse told me 2nd dose is usually easier than first.

OverTheRubicon · 17/06/2021 11:45

I had mine early... and got my second dose 2 days before the news came out about clots, which felt ironic as well as scary because I only had it so early because I have a health condition where one of the risks is increased vulnerability to clotting.

Was so scared! But actually all has been fine, and with numbers going up fast in my area am really happy to be fully vaccinated. I totally sympathise with people who have concerns, especially if they're otherwise young and healthy so low risk. However with rising cases, the balance of risk is starting to tip back towards it being better to vaccinate, because your risk of clots is still higher if you get covid than if you get the vaccine, and long covid is ugly even in young people. Only you can assess and decide for yourself, whatever you do I hope you can feel confident and stay well.

Marguerite2000 · 17/06/2021 12:36

@Kaylasmum49

Anyone over 50?
Yes, me. I had my 2nd dose on 20/May and feel fine.
Hamilbamil · 17/06/2021 14:37

Late 40s... Had 2nd jab on Tuesday. Was a bit "under the weather" and more tired than usual for 24 hours, but ok now.

Thelm · 17/06/2021 14:41

I’m 37 and my second AZ jab about 8 weeks ago. I’m absolutely fine.

DinosaurDiana · 17/06/2021 14:45

Over 50 and have had both of mine.
Side effects with the first, none with the second.

MaMelon · 17/06/2021 14:45

I’m in my early fifties, had my 2nd AZ vaccine a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely no problems at all - I had awful chills and fever for 12 hours and a v sore arm for a few days with my first so hadn’t been looking forward to it but had no issues at all with the 2nd.
