Not sure how Boris can stand up tonight and ask us to wait 'just another few weeks' after his antics this weekend.

Nor after seeing the scenes at countless pubs where people were celebrating the footy results

I'm 100% done now

I certainly thought @Thewiseoneincognito sounded positively thrilled about it

BingBangBong1 No-one is thrilled about it. I've also seen "gleeful" used frequently. So odd. It seems more reflective of the person writing it TBF than anything.

@Thewiseoneincognitothewiseincognito

"Covid deniers heads are going to spin off when they realise we’ll be in lockdown before end of the year because of Delta variant. 📈"

We know Covid exists - doesn't make someone a covid denier because we can see that people are no longer dying, because we value health and jobs, because we know people need treating for other illnesses which are killing in greater numbers than covid now.

It's just not all about covid anymore though - there are other things that are equally or more important now

RaspberryCoulis · 14/06/2021 12:22

Will continue wearing the masks in shops as I don't particularly fancy a £1000 fine or being confronted by a Covid Monitor who thinks it's their place to question it.

But I'm done with the not having people inside your house too. Never doing that again, sorry Boris. (Or rather, sorry Saint Nicola who is even worse than he is).

The Europeans are #done, they are off on their holidays.

If you rtft, I'm hardly the only person who has pointed out they sound excited. So please don't single me out And no, I'm very far from excited. I'm livid actually. I lost my gran. I couldn't go to her funeral due to tiers. I lost a friend. I couldn't go to theirs either. I didn't vote for that bumbling, self important bunch of toads currently masquerading as our government. I'm just having to put up with the consequences of those who did.

Victoria in Australia have now restricted travel again. These are the new rules post a month of lockdown - very restrictive.

www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/jun/11/melbourne-lockdown-covid-victoria-restrictions-coronavirus-rules-covid19-explained-10km-radius-masks-compulsory-exercising-home-gatherings-what-you-need-to-know

Everyone abides by the rules.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 14/06/2021 12:25

@murbblurb

He's fucked up. Everyone pays. It's shit - but refusing to keep taking precautions wont help. Protest against our useless leader instead.
Absolutely agree, @murblurb.
CovidCorvid · 14/06/2021 12:26

I'm no fan of the govt at all but as far as I can see the G7 summit was within the rules wasn't it? Even the BBQ on the beach. They may not have been social distancing but if it's work related (and a networking bbq will count as work) then you don't have to social distance.

Thousands of people every day aren't socially distancing at work. Boris and co will say the small talk/relationship building is a large part of the summit.

They were outside, I think there was less than 30...even if more than 30 again that's allowed if it's work related.

HazeyJaneII · 14/06/2021 12:27

@BingBangBong1
What about @Thewiseoneincognito s post made her seem excited about a lockdown?

I just don't understand why people saying they get why restrictions can't be fully relaxed, or even speculating that there may be another lockdown in the Winter, means that they are excited by lockdowns, can't wait to be locked down or are lockdown lovers?

placemats · 14/06/2021 12:29

Can I ask those that are done.

Would you wear a face mask on a plane journey?

A train journey?

A bus?

A Taxi?

Thewiseoneincognito · 14/06/2021 12:33

@BingBangBong1believe me there is nothing to love about this.

I too have lost 3 members of family to Covid. Unfortunately when this next wave peaks it will silence those who are saying numbers are low open back up I’m done.

It’s no different to the horrendous scenario of running out onto the beach when the tide suddenly disappears to look at the little fishes flipping around on the wet sand gasping for air - just before the waves come rushing back in.

People are desperate to regain normality and I get that, but you must be pragmatic and understand that our behaviours now have repercussions later on.

You may be done, but Covid isn’t.

osbertthesyrianhamster · 14/06/2021 12:35

I was done long ago. Am off next week to visit with friends.

placemats · 14/06/2021 12:36

One vaccine jab doesn't protect you from the Delta variant.

You can still get the Delta variant despite double vaccinations - be asymptomatic and have a high viral load.

user00002 · 14/06/2021 12:36

to the poster who keeps saying we will be locked down again by the end of the year - I really don't understand this.

Are you suggesting the vaccines will not work against the delta strain?

I genuinely do not understand this narrative because there will be new strains of COVID won't there? So we will be in and out of lockdowns forever in your opinion?

MaxNormal · 14/06/2021 12:38

If the vaccine doesn't work we're going to need another plan that isn't restrictions, won't we?

Arrowheart · 14/06/2021 12:38

I can't wait to hear him gaslighting us all tonight. He will throw a bit of waffle and Latin into the mix but take no responsibility whatsoever that after we have all done all the things we can to stick to the rules, he is the one who monumentally fucked up by not closing the borders and allowing the Indian/Delta variant in in plane loads. If you want a lesson in how to gaslight a country then tonight will be it.

Anniegetyourgun · 14/06/2021 12:38

As soon as you see "I'm done", "face nappy" or "sheep" you know what angle they're coming from, and it's not from former 100% compliance despite the fact that is generally claimed in the same sentence.

However, there's no denying that a lot of the restrictions have been pointless or contradictory, that rules they've kept are sometimes less effective than ones that have been lifted, that certain things should have been done months ago but there's precious little point doing them now, and that the present Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is an idle, self-serving, useless twit.

randomkey123 · 14/06/2021 12:40

But it's not the end of lockdown, is it? We're still going to have to wear face nappies, still socially distance to some degree and restrictions will be in certain places ie hospitals etc.

And GP's aren't going to magically open their doors.

Life has changed forever with this pandemic.

It is pleasing to see that so many posters are not bored of bashing Boris.

StealthPolarBear · 14/06/2021 12:44

Lockdown should be an emergency measure not the default solution.
We're more than a year on. We have vaccines. We need to find another way or at least all get to have our say on how we want our lives to be if this situation isn't going to improve any time soon. We collectively need to decide what level of risk we'll accept and what restrictions we can live with rather than them being imposed.

Haenow · 14/06/2021 12:44

I have 3 close friends getting married soon, all postponed weddings. It’s rubbish for them. :( No, it’s not the worst thing in the world but I understand the upset and frustration.

I've not said I wont continue to wear a mask.
I have had both vaccines
I've lost people too and I'm no Covid denier

However, I can see why people have had enough.

They see their government willfully put rules in place for the country, then do nothing to help double that protection. The G7 did break rules. They have had Covid cases go up, amongst specifically police officers, since it began.

I will abide by masks and stuff but I think everyone has their limit and many have reached theirs. Those who have followed every rule since the start like me, I can see it. I have days where I've had enough. Days where I think I will go out but I can't be bothered with masks and dealing with the monumental hayfever I have.
I do feel a bit hopeless sometimes.

Stand outside with a blini and a beer, huddled in a group, wearing a Prada suit for 'a work reception' - have at it.

I don’t believe the gov will ever return our freedoms unless we stop complying.
