Not sure how Boris can stand up tonight and ask us to wait 'just another few weeks' after his antics this weekend.

Nor after seeing the scenes at countless pubs where people were celebrating the footy results

I'm 100% done now

I get why people are fed up with it all, but I don't get the G7 connection. They didn't do anything that we're not allowed to do?

ILookAtTheFloor · 14/06/2021 10:25

@flameprincess

I am going to stop wearing a mask. I wore a mask all last summer while heavily pregnant when shopping and again in hospital for every appointment and it was miserable. I can't believe I'm still having to do it in this fucking heat and I'm double vaccinated now. If everyone needs to be vaccinated because it prevents transmission then why do I need to wear a mask? What am I protecting people from?
That, and masks do close to bugger-all any way.

Drinks reception - currently banned at weddings

No mask when out of your seat - not allowed

I can;t stand Johnson but this is just covid deniers grasping at straws. You'd have a point if he said you can't go to the beach too.

30 people limit in England, 8 people limit in Scotland.

Unsure33 · 14/06/2021 10:28

Were there over 30 outside then ? I thought they were all testing as well ?

Way more. They posed for pics distanced but the gathering was bigger than 30

I just don't believe the government or the media anymore as it has been very clear for 15 months days now that the media are being given the already decided direction of travel to sell, and they duly set about selling it.

In both novels "1984" and "The Handmaid's Tale" the opening narrative is of societies in chaos, in which the people look to media for direction and solutions, and they become paralysed in waiting transfixed for the good news which never eventuates. What we are discovering now, is that actually, eventually, people simply stop listening and switch it off. This opens the door to more extreme and reactionary narratives, media - and politicians - to fill the gap.

I think we are in a very dangerous place when mainstream people start to mistrust mainstream institutions and this really isn't a direction we want to sleepwalk down.

OK absolutely fair point then and I join you in your fury.

Tittyfilarious · 14/06/2021 10:33

I don't think the I'm done is all just to to with Boris on the beach it's also that after this long and the goal posts shifting again and again people feel done. Shopping in a face mask holds no joy for me going in a pub having to scan in or give details then told where to sit and not being allowed to move around freely is rubbish it might not bother some people but it bothers lots of others . Alot of people have now reached their limit with this as they no longer trust anything the government says because we do as we are asked then it's something else

There were way more than 30 there. The thing is, there are exemptions for work purposes but they were standing around having a beer and a burger! It wasn't an official meeting, it was a knees up.
SpindleWhorl · 14/06/2021 10:39

@Workyticket

I have selfish reasons for being invested - my wedding is re-arranged for July.
And my DD is supposed to be performing at a gig that probably won't happen now either.

Shit, isn't it?

Her concert was supposed to have happened last April. But was cancelled.

I feel so sorry for couples trying to have a bit of a wedding with friends and family, especially those that don't have a handy cathedral, tame priest and central London rose garden to use.

Honey12346 · 14/06/2021 10:50

@StacysMomMandyJessiesEx

I’m worried those all saying ‘I’m done’ are going to refuse to comply in shops where we are bound by tight covid guidelines/rules/regs and face disciplinary if we allow customers to behave in an ‘I’m done’ way in our stores?

Covid audits check our cctv for all kinds of compliance. We are shamed on social media, complete with a photo, if seen to be slipping with covid regs

What shop guidelines? I've been to essential and non essential shops and they got rid of all the one way system/blocking the aisles etc. And if your shop didn't, do you really face disciplinary if a customer walked the opposite way from the one way system Confused
bumbleymummy · 14/06/2021 11:10
@bumbleymummy - please stop assuming that everyone wants what you want. Some in their 20s want to be jabbed, it's only days to let them be jabbed.
We don’t have to keep restrictions until they get jabbed though. They’re low risk. They’re very unlikely to end up in hospital and put strain on the nhs. It’s ridiculous. We don’t put restrictions in place every winter until elderly people have their flu vaccine and they’re FAR more likely to end up in hospital than a 20 year old with covid is.

LysistrataVickers · 14/06/2021 11:16

If people stopped getting tested/refused the test in hospital then surely the government's beloved "data" would fall. Deaths are down to next to nothing so when will restrictions lift if not now? There will always be variants as there are of the flu........

Flyonawalk · 14/06/2021 11:23

Surely allowing 22,000 people into Wembley to watch the Euros makes a nonsense of any restrictions.

I think even the most compliant will start to question the sanity of all this.

Bobholll · 14/06/2021 11:25

You are still supposed to be distancing outdoors. No-one is & fair enough. I’m not either. But the guidance is to SD indoors & out. There’s no distancing indoors either in my experience. You sit at a table of 6 for dinner, as normal. I was at a pub (indoors) for the football yesterday. Yeh, everyone started seated but soon were on their feet singing & chanting & hugging & shouting when they scored etc. It didn’t bother me but I did sit there thinking, well, if this doesn’t spread covid, nothing will 🙈

LysistrataVickers · 14/06/2021 11:25

I'm sat at home with my 8 year old son because he is too anxious to to go school. I tried but they sent him home. I'm also signed off work with stress and anxiety caused in the main part by the fucking MSM scaremongering, restricting bullshit.

So, love or hate it, #ImDone says it all for me.

Thewiseoneincognito · 14/06/2021 11:27

Rule of 30 outdoors is allowed right? All will be vaxxed and tested.

Little bit different to 300+ in a nightclub with poor ventilation isn’t it.

Covid deniers heads are going to spin off when they realise we’ll be in lockdown before end of the year because of Delta variant. 📈

Why are you letting him watch the MSM if he has anxiety about covid restrictions? Some parents need to be very careful about how they project onto their children, poor kid I hope he manages to overcome this, June 21st shouldn’t really have had any effect on him anyway?
Brokenrecord3006 · 14/06/2021 11:32

@Bobholll I believe social distancing is gone now if it's between friends and family. So a group of friends hugging in a pub is allowed.

Dissimilitude · 14/06/2021 11:37

We are slightly cursed in the UK with a combination of safety-ist SAGE, but a PM with libertarian leanings.

I could live with being Australia / Taiwan (stringent enforcement but long periods of domestic normality), or Texas / Florida (risk acceptance and live your life while covid rages on in the background).

But instead we've chosen interminable, weakly enforced restrictions.

So I am also done!

June2021 · 14/06/2021 11:42

@poppycat10

I bet there are still people washing their shopping and quarantining their post, despite being vaccinated. You were never going to catch it from your shopping or post!

Personally I think people are overreacting unless it's their livelihood at stake. Do you really need to be able to prop up a bar rather than wait for someone to bring your drinks to your table?

Strange behaviour that.

I'm more annoyed that they keep sending children home because someone in close contact apparently has it now..... stop doing it. Numbers are so low in our area - most turn out to be negative after a few days so it's a real pain in the bum organising and so really unnecessary.

I'm done too.

LoudestCat14 · 14/06/2021 11:42

LysistrataVickers I'm so sorry to hear that, and sending a fist bump of solidarity. She's miles improved now, but my DD has had a horrendous time this year with anxiety and not wanting to go to school. It was separation anxiety, caused by being at home with us in lockdown for so long and then fearing something bad would happen if we weren't together every minute of the day. It's been heartbreaking to watch her struggle with her mental health, so that's why I'm done too.

June2021 · 14/06/2021 11:44

Exactly. The point was to stop the NHS from being overrun. That has been achieved now.

The most vulnerable have been double vaccinated now it they wanted to be. Sod the ones who can't be bothered.

Time to say 'done with this' and stop isolating etc.
