Lingering fatigue following Pfizer vaccine - anyone else?

I had the Pfizer vaccine nearly 4 weeks ago and am still not right. I had a few days of being shivery and noticeably very tired. I now feel fine sitting down, working, etc, but every time I try to do something active, even a short walk, I am finding that I feel physically very tired, very quickly - like my legs won't work properly and I am wading through mud. I am also struggling at my usual pilates and yoga classes - very low energy. It occurred to me that this could be related to my vaccine - has anyone else experienced this? I am normally in good health, but am hyper mobile which can cause fatigue if I overdo it - I am definitely not overdoing it though!

No. I did for a good week afterwards though. I had a sore throat too which I tend to get when I’m about to get ill and my immune system is compromised. The. I went back to feeling normal after 10 days.

My DP had her second Pfizer dose about 7 weeks ago and has been exhausted ever since. She’s usually full of energy and never struggles with fatigue so it’s a marked difference to how she usually is. She was crying the other day because she feels so tired all the time. She was fine after the first dose - no side effects at all.

I am starting to get a bit worried tbh - I hate feeling like this. I felt exhausted while I was unloading/reloading the dishwasher this morning, which is ridiculous. I usually jump out of bed at 5.30, but have been struggling to get up. It's my first dose, so it's making me feel anxious and apprehensive about the second - plus trying to weigh that up against what COVID itself might do to me if this is how I have responded to the vaccine...

Sorry to hear your dp is experiencing this as well - it is upsetting and frustrating.

I had mine about the same time as you op and have not felt great for the last few weeks tbh. Similar to you, more tired than usual, dizzy at times and just not 100%

TerritorialPissings · 10/06/2021 09:29

Hmmm odd, as I had mine about 2 weeks ago and I definitely feel more “heavy” when doing my usual exercise. Like I haven’t got the same pace as normal. I walk lots, and even my normal walks seem more of a trudge.

Az end of April and I feel like it still on and off.

Starting to feel better but only just

OliveTree75 · 10/06/2021 09:51

I have been shattered since mine 3 weeks ago. I was exhausted all weekend. Keep having dizzy spells too

TheVolturi · 10/06/2021 10:16

Sorry that others are suffering but relieved to hear we are not alone!

onemouseplace · 10/06/2021 10:19

I did for 2-3 weeks after my first dose of Pfizer - it was that heavy and exhausted feeling you get when you haven't quite got over an illness.

It did go, and then I was absolutely fine after my second dose.

Agreed. Obviously crap that others are experiencing this, but good to know I am not the only one. No one I know in rl has had a reaction that has lasted more than 48 hours!

Yes I have also felt similar , not sure if it’s Pfizer or a bug , my first vaccine was nearly 4 weeks ago.

sociallydistained · 10/06/2021 10:49

I feel exactly the same and have moaned about it on another thread. 2 weeks post vaccine now. I am an active person, regular gym goer and really struggling. I feel so upset about it! I felt semi normal yesterday but again back to fatigue today I almost cried in my gym session and now have work and zero energy.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 10/06/2021 10:57

I thought I had the same, I'd been woozy and tired since my jab two weeks ago. Then I got a text from my midwife (30 weeks pregnant) to say my iron levels were low. After a couple of days on iron supplements, I'm feeling better. For me, the jab timing was coincidental I think.

Its worth getting a blood test if its persists.

TheVolturi · 10/06/2021 10:57

I take any vaccine going 🤣 and have never had any side effects like this. It must be really prepping our immune system or something! The strange thing is that I didn't seem to have any side effects until about a week after.

SirVixofVixHall · 10/06/2021 11:00

I am like this eight days after my second AZ.
I am prone to fatigue anyway due to autoimmune issues, but this is worse, I can normally walk for quite a while but I am finding even short dog walks quite arduous.
I hope it wears off.

Rainydays55 · 10/06/2021 11:11

I would describe how I’m feeling as more tired than normal even though sleeping well, spaced out / brain foggish and not like dizzy but feeling like I’m on a boat?! It went away last week but came back again at the weekend and has been like it all week so far. Not sure if anyone else is the same?!

Notsoaccidentproneanymore · 10/06/2021 11:15

Same. A month later and I’m beginning to feel more normal.

2 weeks after the 2nd vaccine I managed to sleep for 13 hours in one stretch. Which is ridiculous.

Rainydays55 · 10/06/2021 11:19

Did you have the same side effects from both your first and second? This weekend is 4 weeks since my first so I’m hoping it will wear off sooner rather than later!

Notsoaccidentproneanymore · 10/06/2021 11:23

First one exhausted for 4 days, then that feeling gradually lessened over a few days.

Also headache, dizzy/light headed.

Rainydays55 · 10/06/2021 11:25

I’m just a bit worried that I’m feeling like this nearly 4 weeks later that it will never go away !! Even though it only really started 2 weeks after the jab then went and has come back again. It could I guess be a bug completely unrelated to the vaccine

sociallydistained · 10/06/2021 11:27

This is exactly how I feel. I felt like it day after the vaccine then It went away. Came back a week later, particularly bad at the weekend then lessened now I'm back to it again! I have a uni assignment to work on and I just can't right now, I need it gone by the weekend or I'm screwed ffs.
NotBot · 10/06/2021 12:14

Nope. But I’m permanently exhausted, I have two small children. Fatigue is my life 😂 I’ve learnt to ignore it & carry on!

Notsoaccidentproneanymore · 10/06/2021 12:18

Are you just trying to push through it, or are you resting as much as you can?

Your body is working hard to process and react to the jab (no idea what it’s actually doing) which is why I think you feel like this.

My ds’s are adults now, so I didn’t have any children to work around. If I was tired I sat and read a book. Or just laid in the garden.

Other than working, sleeping, cooking and eating I didn’t do anything unless I felt up to it.

I’m sure the feeling will pass, just depends on what else you have going on in your life etc.

Cocolapew · 10/06/2021 12:20

I only had mine on Sunday but I'm knackered. I had a flu like reaction to it that lasted 24 hours. Like pp I have an auto immune disease which causes fatigue.
Also when I resting, ie going to sleep, it feels like my tongue is shaking Confused does anyone else have this?
