Lingering fatigue following Pfizer vaccine - anyone else?

littlepeas · 10/06/2021 06:53

I had the Pfizer vaccine nearly 4 weeks ago and am still not right. I had a few days of being shivery and noticeably very tired. I now feel fine sitting down, working, etc, but every time I try to do something active, even a short walk, I am finding that I feel physically very tired, very quickly - like my legs won't work properly and I am wading through mud. I am also struggling at my usual pilates and yoga classes - very low energy. It occurred to me that this could be related to my vaccine - has anyone else experienced this? I am normally in good health, but am hyper mobile which can cause fatigue if I overdo it - I am definitely not overdoing it though!

I was particularly exhausted for a few weeks after my second jab, I am a strictly no sleep during the day kind of person but for 2 weeks after I couldn't stay awake, I even fell asleep at the kitchen table in the middle of building Lego with kids, I think it was about 3 weeks I started feeling back to normal.

mahrezzy · 11/06/2021 10:42

Yes. Had first on Tuesday and exhausted, pins and needles, numb limbs and joints sometimes, pain, feeling sick, etc. I’m hoping it will pass soon. I’m a solo parent to a very active little boy and I’m struggling. Not sure I’m going to get the second jab if this is what the first Pfizer has done to me!

sociallydistained · 11/06/2021 10:48

I yellow carded my symptoms initially and have just done it again 2.5 weeks later saying unresolved fatigue etc.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 11/06/2021 11:17

I guess it's like a version of long COVID/post viral fatigue but it's very weird.

This makes sense. Or it could be down to some pre-existing health issues.

There was some research on ABO and Rhesus blood types and covid. Blood type O’s less likely to get infected and especially Rh negatives. I think these groups have strong immune system? And I think it’s something to do with ‘proteins’ on blood cells. (Anyone whose had kids will be aware if they are actually rh negative). More research suggested that if covid did manage to get past your immune system though, like say high viral load (or I don’t know - vaccine?) you might get iller with it than some people. Could that have anything to do with it?

I do overthink things 😂

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 11/06/2021 11:24

It was a weird feeling those side effects! Never had anything like that before.

Theonlyoneiknow · 11/06/2021 11:25

I don't have fatigue but I have developed tinnitus since my first Pfizer vaccine which is a total PITA :( I have yellow-carded it. Looking online it seems to be happening to others too.

Keeperinthecloset · 11/06/2021 11:59

I came on here to look specifically for anyone else with the same thing I’ve been floored for two weeks now .. is anyone else having problems with their eyes ? I can’t seem to focus mine .

SirVixofVixHall · 11/06/2021 12:01

I have tinnitus too.

WhyDoIFeelAwful · 11/06/2021 12:04

@Keeperinthecloset yes. I have double vision.

Cocolapew · 11/06/2021 12:13

I slept solidly for 11 hours last night. I've woken up to more lumps. The aren't itchy like hives are and are eventually bursting like a blister, but the don't look like blisters Confused.
Luckily I'm already off on the sick and still have a line for next week. If it doesn't improve I'll try to speak to my Dr next week.

Rainydays55 · 11/06/2021 12:14

Is there anyone who has started to feel better after 3/4 weeks? Would be lovely to hear some positive stories of getting back to normal!

weegiepower · 11/06/2021 12:18

@Rainydays55 yes after about 3.5 weeks I started feeling much better!

scottgirl · 11/06/2021 12:34

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith you don't need a G.P. to do the yellow card report, just google Government Yellow card report.

I had a severe reaction to my 1st Vaccine and have been told not to have the second one. Despite this no Doctor has ever mentioned the Yellow Card Report! I did one myself as I knew about them anyway.

PLEASE report symptoms, it is absolutely the only way we learn things.

I’m Rhesus Neg. will have to do some research!
WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 11/06/2021 13:37

@sociallydistained

That will take you down an internet wormhole trust me 😂

Then I got a text from my midwife (30 weeks pregnant) to say my iron levels were low. After a couple of days on iron supplements, I'm feeling better.

🤔 With a lot of us, could be something as simple as a vitamin/mineral deficiency.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 11/06/2021 16:42

@scottgirl

Thanks have just yellowcarded symptoms now. They particularly ask about whether you’ve had the flu jab and when. Got it for the first time ever end of last year 🤔

NebbiaZanzare · 11/06/2021 20:56

DH has just informed me neither of us are getting a 2nd dose of AZ, cos it's been suspended for under 60s over here. Might be a knee jerk reaction to a potentially vaccine related death of a youngster today.

I think he said we are supposed to get a blood test for antibodies and then if high stick to the one dose we've had. But didn't catch what happens if you failed to make loads of antibodies. My ice pick headaches have gone all woody woodpecker on me, so I'd struggle to understand spoken English, let alone Italian, at the moment. Will get DS to interpret between us when he gets in.

Either way, no 2nd dose of AZ for me. Which is something of a relief. Cos I can't face this again. Cross your fingers my antibodies are sky high and I can get away with just one dance with side effects. I'll live in a plastic bubble or something next winter if my antibodies are low. I can't willingly sign up for this kind of head pain again. I have no idea how migraine sufferers cope.

Zeitgei5t · 11/06/2021 21:37

Has anyone had shortness of breath? I'm 3 weeks post 1st dose pfizer and still have fatigue but also shortness of breath when I exercise which I've never had before. My dad also had these symptoms so clearly this reaction runs in the family! All tests say I'm healthy though I'm clearly not. No known underlying health conditions and not had covid to my knowledge.
Going to go and find out how to yellow card

SunshineSum · 11/06/2021 21:52

Yes I had shortness of breath. Also fatigue and headaches and palpitations. I'm just about back to normal four weeks in but it's been horrendous.

I think it might be hormonal. I'm peri and got a coil and have hrt gel. I know that women's periods get messed up by it but if your periods are messed up then your hormones are messed up and if your hormones are messed up that can lead to headaches, fatigue and palpitations.

The tiredness I've felt has been like nothing else and yes my concentration and ability to take in information has been massively impaired.

Blood tests all normal but I'm going to go back to the GP and ask for advice about what to do about the second dose because I really really don't want to go through this again.

SunshineSum · 11/06/2021 21:53

Btw I had AZ not Pfizer.

frankie001 · 11/06/2021 23:37

I had second dose in March and feel tired all the time! Also have back pain. Feel exhausted at work and foggy, and heavy.

WarriorN · 12/06/2021 09:23

5 weeks of fatigue, brain fog and mild headaches after AZ.

They say the second AZ tends to be better and the second Pfizer and moderna tends to be worse than the first, so it seem logical that immune reactions may include fatigue symptoms as per Cv infection.

That's what I tell myself anyway!

NebbiaZanzare · 12/06/2021 12:12

Day 16 post vaccination, I feel much better. Not 100%, but a good 70%.

A bit sleepy rather than beyond exhausted. Mild, fleeting head pains. Dizzyness is also very mild. No raised temp so far today. With any luck this means the corner has been turned.

CasparBloomberg · 12/06/2021 12:32

Has anyone posted this about CDC investigating vaccine link to heart inflammation. I read about it yesterday.
I really don’t want to scare people, but it wasn’t until things came into the light that we learned about blood clots and AZ.

Rainydays55 · 12/06/2021 14:26

For those of you who have experienced brain fog have you found it has gone away in the end? 4 weeks since my first vaccine and I’ve had it quite badly all of this week, before that straight after the vaccine I had a day of mildly having it here or there but this week it’s relentless and I feel I ll never feel normal again!
