Lingering fatigue following Pfizer vaccine - anyone else?

I had the Pfizer vaccine nearly 4 weeks ago and am still not right. I had a few days of being shivery and noticeably very tired. I now feel fine sitting down, working, etc, but every time I try to do something active, even a short walk, I am finding that I feel physically very tired, very quickly - like my legs won't work properly and I am wading through mud. I am also struggling at my usual pilates and yoga classes - very low energy. It occurred to me that this could be related to my vaccine - has anyone else experienced this? I am normally in good health, but am hyper mobile which can cause fatigue if I overdo it - I am definitely not overdoing it though!

How's everyone doing? I thought I was over it and then back to square one since yesterday. Foggy head,
so tired, dizzy, heavy wobbly legs. I don't understand what's going on!

Well I’m pregnant so I guess that’s been the cause of mine this entire time 😩

same boat as you, dizzy and sleepy! Have you spoken to your GP? Mine has given me Stugeron for the dizziness which has made me even more sleepy. Not sure if it will help.

Oh wow congratulations @sociallydistained that explains everything for you!

I haven't been to the GP yet @user34254356 although I did have a blood test late last year and all was well. I'm kind of putting it off, as I know if I mention the vaccine they'll dismiss it immediately and probably think I'm 'a one'!

I don't know, maybe I've just got a bug I can't shift 🤷‍♀️ Fed up of it, whatever it is

sociallydistained · 20/06/2021 10:44

I guess I didn’t have any Pfizer symptoms except tiredness the next day after all 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m not sure I would of got the vaccine so early had I known but hey Ho.

I really hope everyone else feels back to normal soon!

Just an update I'm just over 4 weeks post vaccine now and I'm starting to feel a bit better. The weakness and shortness of breath has gone, now just a bit tired (though had a couple of days this week where I've not had to nap!!) So fingers crossed I'm over it now! I did stop taking the pill this week as I read high estrogen can make symptoms worse so don't know whether that affected it or not (I take it for hormones not anti-pregnancy so can afford to stop)
I did consider not having the 2nd if my symptoms didn't improve, but with this new delta variant the first doesn't give much protection.
My GP was no help at all and offered the advice of 'maybe you'll just have to live with this' Hmm

Hope everyone starts to feel better soon x

@NebbiaZanzare. I'm also in Lombardia ( your username sums here up perfectly) in a badly hit Covid town from March 2020.. I'm 2.5 weeks post Pfizer and have the exact thing you say, which I put down to Low blood pressure for the heat, except it's not, my BP is fine.

I have lethargy and moments of feeling dizzy, daily headache, plus a tingling feeling in one toe that will just will not go away, as if there was an elastic band around it. Dreading second one in two weeks time, I can't cope with the wiped out feeling. I just hope it doesn't last too long.

NaughtyPrudence · 20/06/2021 20:50

@NebbiaZanzare And I also had a 'strange virus' in the first week of lockdown. No fever but extreme tiredness, the week before I'd been with a lot of people from the original red zone towns.

corahallett · 21/06/2021 14:38

Watching with interest...I had my second jab 48 hours ago and I feel exhausted, way worse than the first dose. No other side effects at all other than a bit of a sore arm but I'm working and I just want to get into bed and sleep I have zero energy at all. Hoping it wears off soon, I have things I need to be getting on with!!

halfpasteleven · 04/07/2021 03:19

@corahallett
Me too.. 2nd vaccine over 24 hours ago and the tiredness and sore arm this time round are really noticeable. Went to bed at 9 pm but it was after 12 when I fell asleep.. couldn't switch off.
Also feel like I have a sore throat starting.

I know quite a lot of people with COVID who have since had jabs and a colleague described it as a mini dose of covid. I know it's anecdata but people who were laid up in bed with COVID had the same for their jabs if only for a day or two. Covid gave me severe fatigue for 6 months. brain fog etc, irregular heart beat etc for 3.

The Pfizer jab side effect for me was fatigue for a few weeks. Hopefully everyone suffering this side effect will find it clears up soon.

unambiguousbeard · 04/07/2021 17:59

It finally cleared up for me after about 2 months. Now I'm laid up
With COVID again!

Are you alright now?

Teslascat · 31/10/2021 17:42

I had my first Pfizer vaccine in February this year and didn't feel great for a while, nothing specific just generally didn't feel well. I had my second vaccine in May and feel generally unwell since. I painted a small wall in my lounge about six foot by four foot and suddenly felt really weak, no strength in my arms or legs. I sat down feeling dreadful I didn't have the strength to get to the bedroom. I took my blood pressure and it was 186/165 and my pulse was 180. I took a blood pressure tablet and eventually made it to the bedroom I was desperate to the down. I did get a face to face appointment with my GP who sent me to A+E thinking I may have had a TIA. At this point 3 days after the event I still didn't feel great but at least I had some strength back. After nine hours waiting in an overcrowded A+E department I saw a doctor who was extremely good and I had a CT brain scan and thankfully I hadn't had a TIA. I still don't feel good and have on going health problems. I know it's nearly time for my booster jab but still feeling as weak and unwell as I do I really don't want the booster. Anyone any advice. Is there a Pfizer vaccine support group for people like me?
