Let them get on with it. I’m pleased we have the freedom to protest.

I’ve been out for a lovely meal in my favourite pub and am off on my holidays in a few weeks.

I don’t know what freedoms they have lost but if people feel like it’s important to them and the protest is peaceful then I’m a bit ‘meh’ about the whole thing.

I’m concerned about people ‘coming for our children’ though. I wasn’t aware of this. I’m sure most of us quite like our children so if someone could perhaps explain what we need to do to stop them from coming for the children.

Does anyone know? Who are ‘they’?

Unfortunately many of these anti-lockdown marches have very sinister right-wing extremism undertones due to people influenced by QAnon.

Except for when they're travelling on London's crowded poorly ventilated tube, and the public transport they use (mostly trains) to get to and from the city.

I'm a little disappointed at the lack of effort that has gone into that sign...have they used biro? I mean if you value your children you think you would at least use permanent marker.

To be frank, given the mess that is being made of things by the elected government, I’d way rather the unelected scientists were running the country. Sadly, the unelected scientists are only allowed to offer advice - it is the government’s choice whether they follow it or not.

I don't know who is more tedious in this whole sorry mess tbh, the tinfoil -hat-wearing, variants-are-invented-to-keep-us-compliant, anti-vax, tooth-gnashing "freedom fighters", or the batshit people on Twitter who argue that only essential workers should be allowed out and they should be quarantined in hotels away from their families .

Also people are either thick as shit or not paying attention if they think the "unelected scientists" are running the country. Currently, they are pointing out to Boris "data not dates" Johnson that we have not met the criteria he specified for moving to the next stage of the roadmap in June. He is ignoring them.

Also as someone whose father arrived in this country with nothing but the clothes on his back, from a place that was under the control of an actual dictator, where you would be shot in the street on sight if out after curfew, I find it quite galling to watch this bunch of mooks marching for "freedom". We don't know we are fucking born in this country.
