Yet more chat about novavax, (un)blinding, general vaccine passport stress, approval (please please please) and more.
Those involved in other vaccine trials also welcome.

nice to hear of others committed to it. I totally get why so many people have checked out, and it would appear virtually everyone on the fb group has. The delay in approval is very frustrating, and the whole travel thing is potentially very awkward for some, but at the end of the day we still did all do a Very Good Thing.

I am sticking with the trial, I just really hope Novavax is accepted/whatevered by MHRA

BG2015 · 12/06/2021 16:28

The letter means nothing. If the NHS/medics had any clout this would have been sorted by now.

Travel looks unlikely until at least August, and that's being hopeful.

I'm sticking with it.

PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 12/06/2021 16:49

I'm staying in. I've got no travel plans so I've not had to question my resolve. My heart breaks for those who have.

andadietcoke · 12/06/2021 17:32

I'm in the 'believe it when I see it' camp but as my US travel isn't until October I think I'll still review in mid-July and check that the US is giving the same message.

Frazzled2207 · 12/06/2021 20:39

On Twitter. Part two doesn’t say anything other than thanks for our participation.

I wonder when we'll have them in hand.

@andadietcoke

Me too. Hopefully someone has at least twigged that the ridiculous novavax a4 cards are hardly practical. Not sure this card is going to be of any real functional benefit though except for domestic stuff if that ever happens.

I’ve just been for a trial appointment/follow up for the Com-Cov trial. The nurse told me that we will be unblinded by the end of June (was meant to be Feb 22) and our vaccines will be uploaded to the NHS database for a vaccine passport Smile

Cookerhood · 13/06/2021 12:38

Is that Comcov2 @RoseWineTime?
I have a follow up appointment next week too. In London.

RoseWineTime · 13/06/2021 12:40

No it’s the original Com cov but I would imagine the same thing will happen for you @Cookerhood.

Frazzled2207 · 13/06/2021 12:42

@RoseWineTime

No it’s the original Com cov but I would imagine the same thing will happen for you *@Cookerhood*.
what's the possible combinations that you had @RoseWineTime?
OP posts:
RoseWineTime · 13/06/2021 12:46

AZ AZ
Pfizer Pfizer
AZ Pfizer
Pfizer AZ
I suspect the latter….

Cookerhood · 13/06/2021 12:55

ComCov2 is:
People with AZ fist dose have second dose of AZ, Novavax or Moderna
Pfizer first dose have Pfizer, Novavax or Moderna.
So it's a bit different to 2 licenced vaccines.

Frazzled2207 · 13/06/2021 12:58

ah ok thanks for explaining. @RoseWineTime you def had two licenced then which hopefully makes things easier though I imagine like us makes it complicated for the app too.

The US data has been released, all good but I don't think it tells us anything we didn't know already.

Bad news is in America approval is not being sought until September. I don't think that necessarily affects UK approval though, they seem to acknowledge that approval in South Korea, UK and India will come sooner than in the US.

Meanwhile some (UK) bod on the facebook group when he spoke to his trial team about travel concerns was told to go and get AZ and they could pull strings to get 2nd jab in 3 weeks if he needed it. No idea how this works in practice. Hopefully he'll let us know.

Novavax jab more than 90% effective, including against variants…..released on BBC news feed.
100% protection against moderate and severe cases of COVID.

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 14/06/2021 13:43

Can you link please @Monkeygirl68? Is this a new release?

Monkeygirl68 · 14/06/2021 14:05

Frazzled2207 · 14/06/2021 16:30
