Yet more chat about novavax, (un)blinding, general vaccine passport stress, approval (please please please) and more.
Those involved in other vaccine trials also welcome.

@andadietcoke

Well the news is full of double vaccination quarantine exemption. Any thoughts on whether this would constitute 'domestic use'?!

In unrelated news I still haven't heard back from Disney since submitting my vaccination status evidence.

you'd bloody hope so wouldn't you. However I would not expect any confirmation on that while it's still just media spin atm.

I thought Disney had given you the thumbs up? Also heard that NIHR were writing to cruise lines directly.

I got my letter today! It looks good I just hope people will accept it when the time comes.

Ragdoll4 · 22/06/2021 11:22

@Vargas
In NHS app, newly appeared Event Trial section, says I do not have a pass. Goes on to “how can you get one?” If you fall into one of the exempt categories. One of the exemptions listed is “you may have taken part in a COVID-19 clinical trial”. Doesn’t say how to achieve this but your letter covering domestic events should suffice. There’s always ? has government made our exemption known to event holders. I’d be tempted to contact Wimbledon.

indeed @vargas this development suggests that as long as you can prove you are on a trial you are already covered but this letter which is on its way should make it easier.

very jealous you have wimbledon tickets btw!

Vargas · 22/06/2021 11:49

@Frazzled2207 - yes, I'm just now reading the Wimbledon requirements and it looks like i can take the letter in lieu of the app, but it would be helpful if Wimbledon themselves could mention people on a vaccine trial. I will see if I can contact them directly.

Frazzled2207 · 22/06/2021 11:56

indeed it would. In your shoes I think I'd be doing a LTF too just as a back up plan incase you get some ignorant person on the gate.

Wow. So we don't constitute 'vaccinated' we have an 'exemption' (for event trials).

@Frazzled2207 Disney said yes, but it's in the hands of a third party approval company now. I'm hoping that if it's rejected that I'll have app proof and my letter to re-submit.

Vargas · 22/06/2021 12:12

Yes, I have put that in my diary, belt and braces!

Lwoj · 22/06/2021 12:14

I’m getting so fed up about this now. Nothing from the valneva trial. I have huge regrets about joining this trial given where I am now.

starwarspyjamas · 22/06/2021 12:27

I've been following this thread with interest. I had the trial vaccine in the autumn. Since February I have worked 12 hour shifts at the vaccine centre on top of my normal job to help do my bit to get things returning to "normal", however it now all feels like a kick in the teeth that there's no clear plan on ensuring trial participants are unfairly penalised, particularly as I've turned down numerous opportunities for an end of day left over jab. I am tempted to book a jab for tomorrow at another site and forget all about novavax. Whilst im willing to tick a box to say I've not participated on a trial, I am slightly fearful that I would be asked as I middle aged woman why I'd waited to get the jab and im not sure im comfortable telling an outright lie to that question.

Ragdoll4 · 22/06/2021 12:32

@andadietcoke my feeling is that until we are transferred from trial database to NHS app we’ll have to resort to being classed as “exempted”.
Also been mentioned on tv this morning that full digital info on NHS app has been delayed by the delay about sharing medical data. Wonder if this is delaying our data?

ItsSnowJokes · 22/06/2021 12:43

I am getting majorly pissed off at my trial site. I have emailed 3 times, called and left 4 voice messages and still had no call back about my arm. I am going to have to book a gp appt but I am worried they will refer me back to the trial site as it is a side effect from the vaccine. I am taking so many painkillers to get through the day and cannot sleep on that side either.

I think I'd say....it's none of your business.

That is really rubbish. Just hope your gp is more helpful.

I’m helping out with vaccinations too. Nobody I’ve come across would say that. But yeah none of your business is a good enough answer IMO.

Sorry to hear. Unfortunately I know nothing about where Valneva is at. Have you been told that you are at least getting the letter that we’re getting?

I was asked that very question. So I just looked bemused. The vaccinator filled in the silence with ‘ … so, were you just pondering then?’ I thought that was quite a good response, so I agreed with that!
Vargas · 22/06/2021 19:29

I help out with vaccinations too and often wonder why someone older is just now having their first jab but I never dare ask! Perhaps just say you're scared of needles?

I had a phone call back from trial team, only a couple of hours after my email, but unfortunately I missed the call so I'll try them tomorrow.

Cookerhood · 22/06/2021 20:30

I do wonder when older people come, but I would never ask. I just tell them well done for coming.

Dreamer1989 · 23/06/2021 17:02

Anyone visible on the NHS App yet?

JustMeAndWheatley · 23/06/2021 17:28

No

Mine has been updated to say : no Covid-19 records found in a big yellow box

RoseWineTime · 23/06/2021 17:40

My vaccine passport has appeared this afternoon!! I’m on the original Com-cov trial. Slightly disappointed to have had two the same - 2 Pfizer rather than the mixture - I thought I might have had Pfizer then AZ. Very pleased over all and that I now have a vaccine passport. Hope everyone else can get sorted too.

@RoseWineTime, congrats, very happy for you. Sadly, on a personal note, will feel more confident when I see a posting with unapproved Novavax in the mix.

My lateral flow tests are giving me 48hrs for the Events Trial bit, but still nothing for travel.
