Anyone not having vaccine , why aren't you?

Is anyone not having the vaccine and what are your reasons? Im in my 30s I'm not having the vaccine because I'm worried about the long term effects that might not come to light for a few years. Why are you not having it?
If you think the vaccine is amazing and anyone not having it is selfish you probably don't need to comment.

@Londonmummy00

If the government really cared about your health genuinely, then i think sunbeds should be banned, and smoking, junk food outlets like mcdonald’s and kfc should not be made so cheap and accessible that that becomes people’s main diet. In some areas they are all along the high streets not just 1. But the government instead tell us to use all these in moderation but not ban them outright. Why can’t we therefore take our own caution with covid?
Exactly and I was saying something similar the other day about cigarettes, if the government are so damn worried about our health smoking then why are cigarettes still being made and sold...money, it’s alway comes down to money.

@Pumperthepumper

The definition of totalitarianism " a system of government that is centralized and dictatorial and requires complete subservience to the state."

This just doesn't refer to the vaccine which is incessantly rammed down peoples throat despite not wanting it, it refers to not being allowed to hug relatives, visit second homes, arrests when walking in beauty spots, potentially having to share NHS data along with vaccine passports not allowing you to function in society without the government led vaccine. The restriction on our freedoms are frightening and the response to that is " Have the vaccine to stop these freedoms taken away " which reverts back to the vaccine not being optional at all but a form of medical bullying into the lives of people interfering with a human beings right for body autonomy. Utterly disgusting , all of this fits the criteria of totalitarianism to me

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 20/05/2021 18:10

I only know one person who isn't having the vaccine and they are as thick as mince and believe the conspiracies around the vaccine and that covid doesn't really exist. The rest of my family and friends are all having it as we want to get back to some kind of normal.

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 20/05/2021 18:13

@katylees - there is nothing to suggest that new vaccines are needed for Covid 19 now. The longevity of efficacy of the vaccines and need for boosters is a separate matter.

if you think we are getting back to " normal " with the vaccine maybe it's not the so called " anti vaxxers " that are as thick as mince- try a mirror. As for taking a vaccine that can lead to long term side effects purely to justify government policy rather than assess your own risk of covid to make an informed decision, it doesn't get any " thicker" than that

You're exhaustingly wrong on so many things.

"Research continues on all the vaccines. If necessary, future COVID-19 vaccines may need to be tweaked, not unlike what happens with the flu vaccine every year. All vaccine manufacturers are continuing to study the effectiveness of the vaccines and are already looking at what a booster might look like down the road."

Strange how I back up my posts yet you just type " you're wrong"... it is already being discussed how "tweaking them " like flu vaccines is likely to be needed but you know best clearly

Why do you think they told you not to hug your loved ones or visit your second homes?

flippertygibbit · 20/05/2021 18:22

I'm autoimmune and have had mine. I only took them to get back to some sort of freedom. My DP hasn't taken his which is fine with me.

flippertygibbit · 20/05/2021 18:23

Oh, but I won't be taking any booster though.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 20/05/2021 18:26

So someone who believes 5G conspiracies and microchips in vaccines and doesn't believe covid exists isn't thick? I think you could be the one who needs to look in the mirror if you believe that's a sign of intelligence.

What makes you think I haven't assessed my risk? I'm 46 and overweight and DH is 20 years older than me so I want to make sure we both have maximum protection from Covid. Most of my family is elderly and, while they are all vaccinated, I want to do my part for them as well.

katylees · 20/05/2021 18:32

"Why do you think they told you not to hug your loved ones or visit your second homes?"

because the government are not as concerned with mental health/economy etc as many believe.. most in the government are financially secure and what matters is not having the "granny killer" deaths thrown at them. The lower the death figures, the better their chance of re election especially as Labour seem to provide no meaningful opposition with frightened rabbit Starmer. I don't think its a grand conspiracy, just a lack of sensible risk approach for a virus that has an average age of death above life expectancy. The governments all follow each other like sheep- when one suspends the AZ vaccine many others do, one brings in masks they all so.. they're changing policies/ medical advice winging it hoping for the best with the sheep lapping it up living in terror when statistically an 82 year old that gets covid is far more likely to survive it and die of something unrelated years later.

Lack of exercise is linked to between 50,000- 70,000 deaths per year in the Uk- give it a fancy name " exercise19/ex19"and there would be threads of people crying on here faced with seeing their armchair when they return home believing death awaited as soon as they sat down shaking like a lettuce leaf

So.......for PR?

I think the vaccine is amazing and anyone not having it (who medically can have it) is selfish. I probably do need to comment because even though you're not going to change your mind, you still need to be told Wink

" so for PR"

Pretty much every government in every country in the world is more concerned about "PR" than anything else... lies , lies and more lies but I don't believe it's any kind of great conspiracy with lizards, microchips etc that pinkpussys friends believe in

katylees · 20/05/2021 18:39

@Pumperthepumper not sure what the point of your post was other to confirm I don't believe in 5G or microchips

YoBeaches · 20/05/2021 18:40

What exactly are your concerns about it then OP?

So you believe they told you not to hug your loved ones for PR and totalitarianism and they want to force you to have the vaccine, even though you’re choosing not to have it, and better than the vaccine is just your own ‘risk assessment’?

Because you said the discussion should be free from abuse. And then went on to be abusive.

katylees · 20/05/2021 18:45

"So you believe they told you not to hug your loved ones for PR and totalitarianism and they want to force you to have the vaccine, even though you’re choosing not to have it, and better than the vaccine is just your own ‘risk assessment’?"

You clearly can't read like your friend pinkpussy who is rattling on about 5G and microchips which is the default setting for anyone deciding not to take the vaccine. What would you call someone talking about microchips when a poster doesn't want a vaccine.. an academic ?

katylees · 20/05/2021 18:47

If you are so terrified of covid @Pumperthepumper then get the vaccine, I have issues when you foist your irrational fear on others where covid presents less of a risk. If you have had the vaccine why are you so frightened?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 20/05/2021 18:48

Jesus Christ, you have the cheek to call me an 'incorrigible dunce' when you don't even read my post properly?! Nowhere did I say you believe in conspiracy theories, the idiot I know who is refusing the vaccine believes them!

I'm now waiting with bated breath to see what other insults you come up with.
