New thread as the MRHA report is out today.

Note this is not an anti vaccination thread.

This makes me want to cry

So unfair

Rainbowsandstorms · 26/06/2021 13:28

@SheilaTakeABow that’s great news. Well done you. How are you feeling today?

Rainbowsandstorms · 26/06/2021 13:35

@Grellbunt I really hope something changes soon.

Grellbunt · 26/06/2021 14:03

I've thought of driving to England but I imagine they'll turn me away when they see my address/Scottish NHS number?

Grellbunt · 26/06/2021 14:05

Plus

" When you arrive, the staff will ask you questions to ensure you’re only offered suitable vaccines."

Sounds a bit like they'll still be funnelling over 40s off etc?

Maia77 · 26/06/2021 14:07

I looked at these walk-in centres near me but all they offer is AZ.

Maia77 · 26/06/2021 14:08

And yes @Grellbunt, they seem to be funnelling over 40s off.

Jabbinell · 26/06/2021 14:12

Crazy I could have walked in and got Pfzier today just down the road with no worries at all. Oh well too late now, but it could have saved me a ton of worry and money (blood tests).
Very frustrating.

SheilaTakeABow · 26/06/2021 15:38

@Grellbunt, i really feel for you. The system is so unfair; nobody should have to take a medication they're uncomfortable with.

@whataballbag and @Rainbowsandstormss, I'm not too bad. Bit of a headache and very tired and achy, but at least I'm not second-guessing every symptom like I would be with AZ.
Have you got any further forward Rainbows, or are you still isolating at the moment?

Glad you're ok. I was tired after Pfizer boost. Hopefully you won't get a fat armpit Grin

Grellbunt · 26/06/2021 16:00

Sounds as if it might not be that simple even in England, though, so... I will just wait.

Thanks everyone for good wishes. So hard when you can't talk to anyone in real life about it.

WeirdArchitecture · 26/06/2021 16:49

For info, there's Pfizer only at the huge vaccination centre in Wigan, north west this week regardless of age.

WeirdArchitecture · 26/06/2021 16:49

smaller places and walk-ins state AZ only.

QueenStromba · 26/06/2021 17:51

A small centre near me is Pfizer only so it's definitely worth looking at all the local centres and putting in postcodes for areas you can easily travel to.

penni00 · 26/06/2021 17:56

@Grellbunt.
Hang in there x

Rainbowsandstorms · 26/06/2021 18:29

@SheilaTakeABow glad you’re doing ok. Tests are all negative phew! I’m booked in for tomorrow. Feel nervous but more confident about it than I did a few weeks ago. @Jabbinell how far are you from the boarders? Do you have a friends address you could use and concoct a story about temporarily being in England? I’m so cross for you.

Grellbunt · 26/06/2021 18:29

Thanks folks!!

Good luck to all those who are still waiting and also to those doing the Pfizer/Moderna "waiting period" after...

Rainbowsandstorms · 26/06/2021 19:22

Sorry meant to tag you @Grellbunt not @Jabbinell

AppleJane · 26/06/2021 20:23

@Grellbunt do you know anyone with a Scottish nhs number who currently lives in England and has had their jab here? I mean they're not going to make everyone go back to Scotland who reside here. Really trying to figure out how we might be able to beat the system for you!

AppleJane · 26/06/2021 20:25

Sorry @Rainbowsandstorms I see you've beaten me to it. Conniving minds think alike 😂

Grellbunt · 26/06/2021 22:24

You're all so kind! Thanks. Am racking brains!

Olliphant · 26/06/2021 22:53

@grellbunt. Am in the same boat. Just got refused a pfizer today...am going to try for a letter from my doctor this week. Why are the staff at the centres such fierce gatekeepers? Surely we should get the vaccine before a 20 year old who will not even notice they have corona?! Gads.

Rainbowsandstorms · 26/06/2021 23:03

There has to be a way. You must be in the minority now. Surely it’s better for everyone to allow you to have Pfizer, it makes me so angry that you’re left with the choice between a known and serious risk from AZ or risking covid without the protection from vaccination when there is a safer alternative.

Olliphant · 26/06/2021 23:07

Thank you...I am writing to my doctor this week as last resort. It is so upsetting. I keep thinking that they ( gov) want us to stop the spread and stop the hospital admissions but will not allow a few folk to get the pfizer....it goes against everything that makes sense.

Leaveitonthefloordrobe · 27/06/2021 00:12

I don't understand the witholding of Pfizer from certain groups. There's a drive to vaccinate as many people as possible but at the same time they're not allowing those who are hesitant about AZ to have an alternative. Why?
