New thread as the MRHA report is out today.

Note this is not an anti vaccination thread.

@whataballbag brilliant news. So pleased for you Smile hope you’re doing ok.

Rainbowsandstorms · 19/06/2021 17:29

@AppleJane thank you. I wasn’t sure I remembered any being reported either but I’m not sure if they specified that there hadn’t been any. Frustratingly I only screenshot the chart and the bottom part of the text which makes me think there wasn’t any mention of deaths.

AppleJane · 19/06/2021 17:35

Okay so here's the wording for report issued 10th June:

"These events occurred in 200 women and 169 men aged from 18 to 93 years and the overall case fatality rate was 18% with 66 deaths. 23 cases have been reported after a second dose."

And here's the 17th:

"Of the 390 reports, 207 occurred in women, and 180 occurred in men aged from 18 to 93 years. The overall case fatality rate was 18% with 71 deaths, four of which occurred after the second dose."

Which is why I previously wondered if 4 of the 5 new deaths related to second doses but we can't be sure of that.

Missed the top bit off!

[quote Actualfactual]This is behind the paywall but the headline says it all

This has now been changed and was nothing to do with the blood clot issue. The theatre in their 'wisdom' was only allowing people who'd been vaccinated with and FDA approved vaccine to attend the concert. They are now allowing anyone who has had a WHO approved vaccine to attend.

Rainbowsandstorms · 19/06/2021 19:29

@AppleJane thank you so much. I’ve screenshot the whole thing this week. I didn’t think any deaths after second doses had been mentioned before this week. Like you I share the concern that four out of five of the new deaths are second dose related. That would mean that there has now been a second dose death in the 40 to 49 age bracket (2 new deaths recorded) and likely one in the age 30 to 39 bracket (one new death recorded). I wish they’d give more clarity so we aren’t left trying to piece things together! I’m feeling really angry tonight there are so many countries who have banned AZ for second doses or are giving people a choice. These include Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Austria. Though I also understand that our supply of mRNA vaccines isn’t great at the moment.

AppleJane · 19/06/2021 19:49

Yes @Rainbowsandstorms they could have gone a step further and clarified if the deaths are first or second dose related but assuming they continue to tell us next week onwards we should be able to work it out now. I've kept a copy of the weekly report for a good few weeks now if we ever need to look back at earlier stats Smile

Rainbowsandstorms · 19/06/2021 19:56

@AppleJane thank you so much. I’ve screen shot most of them but seem to have missed the odd week and odd bit of info. It’ll definitely be clearer from this week onwards. I’m just trying to get all my data together ready for speaking to my GP this week.

AppleJane · 19/06/2021 20:49

Going into combat fully armed @Rainbowsandstorms Grin

penni00 · 19/06/2021 21:54

Like Keir Starmer at Prime Minister’s Questions time….. :)

Rainbowsandstorms · 19/06/2021 23:19

@AppleJane hopefully so 😊 it was bad enough trying to get the appointment booked! Ready to fight my corner though. Thanks for the help with the data.

Rainbowsandstorms · 19/06/2021 23:23

@MiniMaxi I think it was you who shared a really comprehensive document re guidance for the use of AZ a little while ago. I think it was a government document but I’ve been unable to find the link on this thread or the actual document. You don’t happen to know what I’m talking about and have the link somewhere do you?

I’m absolutely convinced that the document had a statement in about considering an alternative second dose where a patient was otherwise unlikely to get their second dose. I can’t locate it anywhere though and I’m beginning to wonder if I dreamt it up!?! I’m hoping not as I used this when I had to fight to be booked in for a GP appointment to discuss this.

MiniMaxi · 20/06/2021 08:30

@Rainbowsandstorms was it the one that Beverly Hunt had linked to on Twitter? If so I can try to dig it out (haven’t been very good at saving documents!)

It's in the green book ☺️

MiniMaxi · 20/06/2021 09:37

Oh well done @whataballbag thanks!

@Rainbowsandstorms hope you get your mRNA sorted (if that’s what you decide)

SheilaTakeABow · 20/06/2021 09:40

That's really helpful @whataballbag.

@Rainbowsandstorms, I've also got a call booked in with my GP this week, will be interesting to see how we both get on.

I have to say, I really didn't want to go down this route. Would have loved it if the MHRA gave such clear figures that dose 2 was obviously safe, but unfortunately there's always so much that seems to be left unsaid that that's not the case Angry.

I've said it before, but I just can't get my head around the fact that we're all meant to blithely accept quite considerable risks.

Rainbowsandstorms · 20/06/2021 11:12

Thank you @whataballbag unfortunately the one I’m thinking of was a government document I’m beginning to think I imagined it though. Thanks @MiniMaxi I’ll have a look at her Twitter feed.

@SheilaTakeABow good luck. Let me know how you get on and I’ll do the same. I feel exactly the same as you. Each week I’ve been hoping the Mrha report will give me the confidence I need to get my second dose but things just aren’t clear enough.

Rainbowsandstorms · 20/06/2021 11:36

@MiniMaxi I found the document you referred to, that was tweeted by Beverly Hunt, that’s one of the ones I read through yesterday when I was trying to find the info. The info isn’t in there but it is the same format as the one I thought I’d seen the info in. I wonder if it was maybe in a past issue of a similar document that has since been updated.

Rainbowsandstorms · 20/06/2021 11:36

@whataballbag how are your side effects after your Pfizer dose? Hope you’re doing ok.

Proustianmoments · 20/06/2021 12:12

Hi all. I’ve been lurking on this thread for a while as I had AZ early March (due to my job, I’m under 40) and had a bad reaction (not blood clot related). I got a letter from my GP and had my second dose as Pfizer last week. So it is possible. Good luck to all trying to do the same. (Side effects wise I’ve had a very sore arm and have been tired but nothing compared to my AZ side effects).

SirVixofVixHall · 20/06/2021 13:06

Proustianmoments
What side effects did you get with the AZ ?

penni00 · 20/06/2021 13:25

@Proustianmoments
Hi, I have private messaged you.

I am interested in what side effects you had too after AZ, if you are happy to say

Proustianmoments · 20/06/2021 13:25

@SirVixofVixHall - mainly heart symptoms (very fast heartbeat /palpitations). I also had the typical flu symptoms for a few days but it was the heart issues that worried me and I didn’t want to risk having them again (I was also anxious about the blood clot risk but didn’t get Pfizer on this basis - I think others have though.)

Proustianmoments · 20/06/2021 13:30

@penni00 I’ve PM’d you back Smile
