Well not exactly going mad but I sense a trip to the cinema on the cards and a sneaky wagamamas and maybe a swift half.

Got to make the most of our freedom.
At least if it rains we can get inside.

I wonder if the pubs will have some music on.
I have missed that so much.

Got a long day of work Monday. Sad On Thursday though, I'm going to soft play with DD with two other mums and their LOs. Might go to a cafe afterwards, sleepy toddlers permitting. One of the mums I haven't seen since their DS was 5/6 months old. Cannot wait.

Well done you
I’m nearly 10 years ahead of you
But will give it my best shot

Haven’t been very well ... long ibs
Too bloody long . Years.
But I think I’m gradually getting on top of it
Had to go 100 per cent gluten and dairy free
So eating out isn’t the fun it used to be
But it’s what you do if you want to enjoy decent health in your 70s

Well my eyes are crossing so better get some sleep for The Big Breakout
Tomorrow.
Yeeha![/quote]
You’ll get used to it. I was diagnosed coeliac 4 years ago. It was a shock but now I’m so used to it and have found so many alternatives I really barely notice. Then I started getting bad IBS this Jan and it’s come down to lactose. I miss milk in lattes most - soya or coconut isn’t the same. Luckily lots of free from stuff is dairy free too.

I think your grandson has timed it better than a lot! My younger DD is just finishing 3rd uni year. The first term was finding her feet, then she really enjoyed the rest of first year in halls. Moved in with 4 friends for second year; caught what we now think was Covid in the February and by March almost all her friends had returned home. She’s barely seen any of them since, in well over a year. Uni has been online the whole year. She was desperate to go back in person after Easter but govt has said no until tomorrow and it finishes the following week so not back in person until Sept. She’s doing a masters year there next year but it won’t be the same as not all her friends are.

Honestly, I look back at all the fun I had at uni and I could cry for her. Let’s hope life picks up for us all. I’m not doing much tomorrow as working but will probably meet a friend somewhen this week for an indoor coffee. Can’t wait! Fed up with walking around in the pouring rain with my takeaway cup.

GiveMeNovocain · 17/05/2021 00:38

Going out for a meal with friends without worrying about the weather! Can't wait 😊

HeddaGarbled · 17/05/2021 00:55

Don’t be shocked - I’ve got tickets for a museum 😃

Aria999 · 17/05/2021 04:27

Not in the uk but as soon as I got my first vaccine shot we booked a vacation for the minute I would be fully vaccinated (DH was sooner). We have been going all kinds of crazy, babysitting, museums, restaurant meals...

peboh · 17/05/2021 04:47

I'm planning to meet a friend for an indoor coffee and cake date on the weekend, but that's about as exciting as my plans get. I'm really struggling to find it in me to make plans, as I'm not convinced it won't all be take away again in a week or two as the government flap about the Indian variant of covid.

shewalkslikerihanna · 17/05/2021 04:54

@SleepyMathematician
Thanks for the input
Yes I’m also lactose free, both 22 months now.
Both me and dh.
We manage well at home. Like you say, we barely notice but going out is a whole new board game.
I also can’t do fructose glucose syrup. That screws me up something rotten and hydrogenated fats
All the time it’s checking labels.
I can’t get away with gf pasta , breads, cakes either.
Occasionally, but not all the time.
In fact I can honestly say I’m not a lover of any of the breads.
When I make cakes I prefer them with coconut flour and coconut oil to anything else.
I shouldn’t be awake at this time..but my tum is playing up a bit.

Thought I might go absolutely crazy and sit down in the gym, that I've been in for 2hrs and drink my coffee indoors instead of out in the rain. Oh and if there's anyone in I trust enough I might ask for a spot sometime this week so I can safely test my one rep max.
I live a wild life, I do

Waxonwaxoff0 · 17/05/2021 06:39

No as I'm working. But I am this weekend!

FlowersofSpring · 17/05/2021 06:39

Nothing different. My lockdown life is pretty much my normal life. I like it that way though. I'm cleaning the house today. Rock and roll!

TeddingtonTrashbag · 17/05/2021 06:40

I'm going to get a coffee, sit my ass down and take my mask off. INDOORS. I'm mad, me
Grin

wendz86 · 17/05/2021 06:43

Working today but going for a pub lunch inside Thursday and gym class in person Friday .

Lemmen · 17/05/2021 06:45

Not planning to go anywhere for the first few weeks - it'll be rammed and I wasn't good with crowds or busy places before covid, let alone now. But all of you who are going for it, enjoy!

beardeddragon174 · 17/05/2021 06:46

Have booked a trip to the museum for me and 4 yo DS on Thursday. Might have a cake in the INDOOR CAFE AFTERWARDS #mumsgonewild

AhaShakeHeartbreak12 · 17/05/2021 06:50

I wish I was but I don't feel comfortable yet

Chunkymenrock · 17/05/2021 06:51

No, it's a normal working day and I've no desire to get near other people, let alone hug them.

EsmereldaMargaretNoteSpelling · 17/05/2021 06:52

Mad, no. Brunch with a friend indoors Tues for hour or so and getting a 20min lift x2 from a different friend to second vaccine appt and back on Fri. Anything else will be outdoors still, will try and shoehorn a couple of walks in but weather this week looks utterly shite.

Wannabangbang · 17/05/2021 06:53

Meeting with a friend for coffee inside a cafe. Can't wait

Watapalava · 17/05/2021 06:57

I have several plans this week

All meals and drinks really

Can’t wait!!

(I work in an office with 30 people, no distancing or masks so pubs are nothing!)

usernotfound0000 · 17/05/2021 06:59

2 meals out this week, trip to soft play for DD2 who has never been, trip to the pub at the weekend. And I can't wait!

Thunderpunt · 17/05/2021 07:00

Opening our restaurant this lunchtime and looking forward to welcoming customers inside. On the one hand can't wait, on the other dreading how my old legs are going to cope with working full time againGrinGrin but who cares.... we can open finally!

Angel2702 · 17/05/2021 07:06

Going to a football match on Tuesday night and going to a cafe with my Mum and my kids on Saturday for first time since February last year. First indoor place we will have entered other than shops.

Oysterbabe · 17/05/2021 07:09

I'm taking my 3 year old to a cafe for a piece of cake. I'm looking forward to it.

Oysterbabe · 17/05/2021 07:11

Oh and cinema and pub lunch with the Inlaws at the weekend. It'll be nice for the kids to start doing more stuff again.

psychomath · 17/05/2021 07:12

@MsOgyny I'll have an extra coffee for you then, and hopefully it won't be too long before you can join us Smile
