Limited travel list for the foreseeable future

Butterflyfluff · 14/05/2021 19:13

So Boris has said that the number of places we can travel to is likely to remain extremely limited for the foreseeable future

It was very all depressing

The government clearly don’t want us to travel and this gives them the perfect excuse to keep the options of places to go extremely limited

It wouldn’t even surprise me if travel was banned altogether again

Not sure how much more of this we can all tolerate ☹️

why?

RoseRedRoseBlue · 14/05/2021 23:23

@Coldwine75 if that’s “selfish”, then other so-called leisure pursuits should be labelled the same. This includes going to pubs, getting your nails done and meeting your relatives for a coffee. It’s not selfish to want to resume a normal life.

lostitall · 14/05/2021 23:23

@Coldwine75

why?
Because wahhh luxury holidays are good for my mental health fuck everyone else
loginfail · 14/05/2021 23:24

@Coldwine75

Anyone going abroad last year , or this is incredibly selfish.
For a holiday or do really mean anybody going abroad, for whatever reason?

You're far less likely to bring back a new variant from Chantelle's beauty salon though

Coldwine75 · 14/05/2021 23:25

A holiday abroad, why cant people wait, or are they so desperate for their 2 weeks on the beach even though we are in a pandemic!

Coldwine75 · 14/05/2021 23:26

Good for 'your' mental health, ok but who cares about a global pandemic hey!

RoseRedRoseBlue · 14/05/2021 23:29

@Coldwine75 but....where do you draw the line? If a country is ‘safe‘ or equivalent, what’s the problem?

Coldwine75 · 14/05/2021 23:31

but you dont know if that 'safe' country will change, its spreading the virus about just so people can have their time in the sun? sorry i dont get it and i dont abide by it, arent we meant to be 'all in this together'?

RoseRedRoseBlue · 14/05/2021 23:34

Oh come on, we have NEVER “all been in this together”, not even for a second. We need to accept that this is here to stay and learn to live with it. It’s been well over a year now and people are at absolute saturation point.

Coldwine75 · 14/05/2021 23:37

I have as much right as you to air my opinions so stop being so childish

Quite right, just as much as others have the right to think those opinions are ridiculous.
Ylvamoon · 14/05/2021 23:43

Mine has been postponed TWICE ! It's a once in a lifetime trip and was for a special occasion.
By the time we are actually going, it will be either to expensive or more likely the travel company is gone bust.

So yep, we really can't wait for our holiday, and ideally it should have gone ahead this year. And I can't wait to go!!!

Tourism is big business, and I am not sure if many tour operators will survive an other year without any decent income.

Thewiseoneincognito · 14/05/2021 23:43

@tiredofthisshit21

Oh shut up *@Coldwine75*. No one is listening.
I think you need to step away @tiredofthisshit21 There is no need to be rude and nasty to another person simply because they disagree with you. This isn’t the playground.
Coldwine75 · 14/05/2021 23:44

Yep ours postponed twice too, but we would not go this year anyway with a global pandemic still so active , so will wait,

RoseRedRoseBlue · 14/05/2021 23:45

@osbertthesyrianhamster I like your style 😉

Coldwine75 · 14/05/2021 23:45

Yep you may think my view is ridiculous, that's fine but to be told to shut up is primary school stuff!

I didn't, but then, I just made out my packing list to go abroad Wink.

Have fun then spreading the virus....

Coldwine75 · 14/05/2021 23:48

@tiredofthisshit21

Nope, not stepping away. Am sick of the holier than thou attitude. Am sick of the ' holiday in the UK' brigade. They can all fuck off.
Ooooh calm down, we are all entitled to our own opinion!
RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 14/05/2021 23:49

Not necessarily. If you go on a trip via channel tunnel, stay in your car, drive to northern Spain, have a nice self catering holiday, abiding by SD and other covid guidance, like you would at home... that's just not dangerous.
