Follow-on to the happy thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4210673-Can-the-40-49-age-group-now-book-their-vaccine.

(I'm jabbed, but just here to read happy news of jabs and try to book DH when it's his time.)

I'm 30 and got my invite yesterday through the GP and called to check as I didn't think I was eligible- apparently they've done all the over 40s registered at the practice already. 🤷

KikoMiko · 23/04/2021 08:38

@DobbyTheHouseElk

Popped onto the AZ side effects thread. Now I’m scared!

Was so desperate to have the jab. Now I’m worried.

Snap. I've been looking forward to getting mine, and now I'm worried. Mine is this evening after work.
burtiebotts · 23/04/2021 08:46

My 44 year old partner (June 76) managed to book his last night, appointments were available for today (we are in Hertfordshire)

Thanks for this thread, as I wouldn’t have thought to check otherwise!

I’m 39, so a bit of a longer wait for me... hopefully not too long.

Has anyone had their vaccination in wimbledon centre court yet and if so could you please share which vaccine was offered

ExpulsoCorona · 23/04/2021 09:06

@pjey from what I've heard centre court is usually AZ, AFC Wimbledon seems to have Moderna

freeez · 23/04/2021 09:12

@EasterIssland

Looks like March / April 77 might be the pivoting point between being able to book and not being able to. Someone in February can but not someone in June. Might be the same as what happened with 45 that the stopping point was March.
Upthread somebody born in 78 said they were able to book.

Dec 77, still unable.

ILookAtTheFloor · 23/04/2021 09:15

Has anyone worked out whether it updates 'on the hour' or is it at any random time? I find myself checking past the hour in case it's updated but this could be nonsense 😂

Along with the checks every 2 mins anyway of course 😂

pjey · 23/04/2021 09:15

@ExpulsoCorona ah...was hoping for Pfizer or Moderna

I'm also checking every 2 mins but have been working on your logic as well - did a special hopeful check just gone midnight and just gone 9am

seems like they're stockpiling for below 30s which makes sense

pjey · 23/04/2021 09:23

@EasterIssland hmm..yes..although I would think these vaccines would have some shelf life especially considering the storage temperature for Pfizer..

DobbyTheHouseElk · 23/04/2021 09:24

I’m June 77 and booked yesterday. Central NHS booking system, no call from GP. Didn’t clear cookies or have my NHS number.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 23/04/2021 09:27

I got a text from my GP surgery last night inviting me to book, as did just about every 40-something I know in the area! We've been joking about taking a picnic and making a party of it.

Tangledtresses · 23/04/2021 09:29

I'm 49 got a phone call from go last month... I couldn't make it
The nhs sent me a letter last week and I was able to book online at a local centre. Gp phoned me the same day and I had it yesterday Astra z

ii think its 6m so still ok

EasterIssland · 23/04/2021 09:37

also they're being used as 2nds just not as first as much

wintertravel1980 · 23/04/2021 09:45

Popped onto the AZ side effects thread. Now I’m scared!

Just for some reassurance, both DH and I got our first shots of AZ this week. We felt slightly tired/lightheaded but the effect was very mild. If I had been part of a vaccine trial, I would have been convinced I got a placebo and my side effects were psychosomatic.

People tend to write about their negative experiences. Those who are fine are less inclined to comment on their uneventful vaccinations.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 23/04/2021 10:18

I’m 43 and was actually invited last night for appointment in London. My first appointment is next week Smile

TokyoSushi · 23/04/2021 10:21

Ooh, this is exciting, just checked us both (me 41, DH 43) nothing doing here yet in Cheshire!

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 23/04/2021 10:25

My DH is 43 but a couple of months younger than me and hasn’t been invited yet. He’s loathed to book online until it changes to 40+ officially...

Oligodoodle · 23/04/2021 10:32

@TokyoSushi exactly same situation as you - Cheshire East... come on!!

TokyoSushi · 23/04/2021 10:42

It's got to be soon, right?!

Deliaskis · 23/04/2021 10:50

@TokyoSushi and @Oligodoodle I'm Cheshire East (and 43!) and DH is 45 but just missed the April cut off for 45-50s....he's just booked this morning at Alderley Park (wasn't letting him yesterday morning but I think was by the afternoon). So we really are next!

Deliaskis · 23/04/2021 10:51

And his appointment is May 1st, so not a long wait.

TokyoSushi · 23/04/2021 10:54

Eeek!
