Anyone had AZ with little / no side effects?

I had Pfizer a few days ago and have been pretty much fine otherwise than a tender arm and feeling a bit odd on and off. DH had AZ this morning, a bit hesitantly because of the news this week but decided to go ahead anyway, and all I'm seeing on here are horror stories about the awful side effects, not just the clotting one (must stop doom scrolling!).

Whereas in real life I know several people who've had AZ, and most of them, regardless of age, have felt a bit rough for 24 ish hours then fine. So I'm hoping DH will be the same.

Anyone had AZ and not had any side effects at all / very little?! I'm looking for some balance to all the negativity!

Yes I had my first AZ jab in mid-February. Only side effect was a slightly sore arm for a couple of days.

MajorNeville · 11/04/2021 12:43

Barely knew I'd had it, arm a little stiff next day but that's it.

TheQueef · 11/04/2021 12:45

Me.
Didn't even have a sore arm.

Theunamedcat · 11/04/2021 12:46

Feel like I'm fighting off a heavy cold with a sore arm had it four days ago now

oldegg123 · 11/04/2021 12:47

The vast majority of people of people who have AZ have minimal side effects. Everyone I know (around 15 people) had nothing more than a sore arm and a slight fever which is totally normal and to be expected.

Really important to remember that most people don't bother making posts about something being fine, you're mainly going to get those with anxiety or who have felt ill contributing to these threads.

RedcurrantPuff · 11/04/2021 12:49

Me, sore arm and a little bit fluey but still able to work, easily manageable with paracetamol.

Mintjulia · 11/04/2021 12:52

None at all. After all the dire warnings, I went home, got the paracetamol out, bumbled around the garden waiting to feel terrible. Nothing!

Went for a run the next morning and forgot about it. Smile

I had AZ a month ago, and just had a sore arm with slight fever and headache. I was back to normal in 36 hours.

Corrag · 11/04/2021 12:54

Me, no side effects at all, not even a sore arm.

MrsHastingslikethebattle · 11/04/2021 12:54

I felt a bit head achy the day after my AZ. After that nothing.

The news mishandles information. Theres such small risks of blot clotting. I think its 3 in a million.

thistimelastweek · 11/04/2021 12:56

No side effects at all.

Monkeytapper · 11/04/2021 12:56

I side effects, aged 42

Monkeytapper · 11/04/2021 12:56

No side effects!

fizbosshoes · 11/04/2021 12:56

Lots of people I heard had bad side effects and were bed ridden the next day but my best friend, BIL and DH were all fine. They're all in their 50s if that makes any difference. A friend who is a nurse volunteer doing vaccines said to keep really well hydrated and take 2 paracetamol afterwards regardless of how you feel.

Bluntness100 · 11/04/2021 12:58

I got cold symptoms, was really blocked up, it hit in the evening after jab at noon, and felt knackered, all in lasted 24 hours then I felt totally fine, it just disappeared.

TheQueef · 11/04/2021 12:58

I'd prescribed myself the next day in bed and rushed to finish my work in case I was wiped out I'm normally quite sensitive to vaccines.
The day after I actually poked around my arm, doubting they'd even jabbed.
Nowt, not even a headache.
Very underwhelming.

I did stay in bed, completely milking it.

Peridot1 · 11/04/2021 12:59

Felt a bit ropey for 24 hours. Was tired and felt cold. Woke up with a bit of a headache the day after which went with paracetamol. Was totally fine after that.

DH was similar except also had a sore arm for a few days.

Our neighbours both had it and felt similar - slightly fluey and tired.

Pumpkyumpkyumpkin · 11/04/2021 13:00

@fizbosshoes I made sure DH took paracetamol before he went and again 4 hours later, and am topping him up with water! I'm more anxious about him being ill than I was about being ill myself for some reason.

So good to hear everyone's 'non event' stories...some of the other threads are so full of people with horrendous side effects it makes it sound like everyone gets really ill.

I'm over 50. Had a sore arm (as I would expect) for a few days, felt really tired 24h later and had a mild headache.
Second vaccine is already booked.

ThisTooShallPass20 · 11/04/2021 13:01

I had my first AZ in January and second yesterday. Only side effect has been sore arm both times.

JaninaDuszejko · 11/04/2021 13:02

Everyone in my family (the two generations who are eligible) have had AZ and none of us have had any side effects. The reality is (puts my scientist hat on - I work as a senior scientist in the pharmaceutical industry) most people have no side effects from vaccines. Obviously those who do are more likely to talk about it and then you have the nocebo effect where if you expect to have side effects you are more likely to have them.

Okki · 11/04/2021 13:03

I had mine 2 weeks ago. Barely felt it and had no sore arm or anything. I have had an uncommon side effect - loss of appetite. But frankly there's enough of me that that isn't an issue and I hope it's permanent Grin

DH arm was a tiny bit tender the day after and he was a bit tired for a few days. That's all.

DuncinToffee · 11/04/2021 13:03

I had mild flu symptoms overnight , after that nothing
DH had muscle ache the day after but nothing more.

Branleuse · 11/04/2021 13:04

me, I had AZ and just felt a bit achy the next day, but was fine with a couple ibuprofen

Kenneldogsrock · 11/04/2021 13:04

No sore arm but I did feel v achy for 24 hours and then I was fine
