Anyone had AZ with little / no side effects?

I had Pfizer a few days ago and have been pretty much fine otherwise than a tender arm and feeling a bit odd on and off. DH had AZ this morning, a bit hesitantly because of the news this week but decided to go ahead anyway, and all I'm seeing on here are horror stories about the awful side effects, not just the clotting one (must stop doom scrolling!).

Whereas in real life I know several people who've had AZ, and most of them, regardless of age, have felt a bit rough for 24 ish hours then fine. So I'm hoping DH will be the same.

Anyone had AZ and not had any side effects at all / very little?! I'm looking for some balance to all the negativity!

No side effects here either. I'm female, 38 years old.

I had plenty of people telling me I'd be bedridden the entire weekend though!

flowery · 11/04/2021 13:05

I woke up during the night after having had it, feeling fluey, shivery and achy. Was awake for a couple of hours like that, then fell back to sleep ago by the time I woke up the next morning, the only thing left was an achy arm.

exLtEveDallas · 11/04/2021 13:09

No side effects here, slightly sore arm for 24 hours.

MsAwesomeDragon · 11/04/2021 13:12

I've had both doses of the AZ now. No side effects from either dose. I had a headache for a day or so after the first one but I regularly have headaches for a couple of days at that time of the month.

DH has had his first AZ jab. He had no side effects whatsoever.

My mum and dad have both had their first AZ jabs. Mum was absolutely fine. Dad had a rough day or two where he felt a bit "off" but no specific symptoms.

thatsgotit · 11/04/2021 13:13

Slightly sore arm for a day or two, no other side effects.

muffb · 11/04/2021 13:14

Dp(36) had his and said it was like a really bad hangover, started the day after the jab and lasted about a day and a half. We were on furlough at the time and he said it would have been enough to keep him off work.

Both MIL and FIL had it and were absolutely fine- only side effect was a sore arm in the area the jab was.

roguetomato · 11/04/2021 13:16

Me too. No side effects except for sore arms for few days.

Vinorosso74 · 11/04/2021 13:19

I was ok. Woke up at 5am the morning after I had it with a slight headache then another slight headache later that morning-couple of paracetamol and I was fine.
Arm wasn't bad, it was a lot worse after a tetanus injection a few years ago!

LondonJax · 11/04/2021 13:21

Normally, whenever I have any sort of jab, I get a raised red bump that hurts to the touch on the injection site then an achy arm for 24 hours or so.

I had the AZ mid March. I felt the needle go in but no redness, no soreness, no aching arm at all. I was fine the following day but the day after that I felt quite lethargic and a bit shivery. Not enough to need paracetamol but I had a lazy day on the sofa rather than rush about.

And that was it. No symptoms since.

DH didn't even get those symptoms when he had his a few weeks before me!

barbrahunter · 11/04/2021 13:22

I felt a bit fluey for 24 hours after AZ jab, and then I was fine again.

tarheelbaby · 11/04/2021 13:23

I had AZ and was fine. My arm was a bit sore that evening and maybe the next day but otherwise I was fine.

candycane222 · 11/04/2021 13:24

No soreness, and if ig fid make me more achy and tired tgan usual (im not young!) it was difficult to tell. Like a pp, I wondered if Id really had it. Husband had his a week later - nothing.

TwoBreakingIntoOne · 11/04/2021 13:27

At work we were more or less evenly split between Pfizer and AZ and the same with symptoms. Lots who had the Pfizer were ill afterwards

IndigoApple · 11/04/2021 13:28

I had it this week, felt tired and cold the next day but I was busy at work and it was snowing so 🤷🏻‍♀️ Had a headache the next again day which went with paracetamol. 5 days in arm is a bit tender and bruised although the latter may be vaccination technique rather than the drug itself! DH not 50 yet so not had his.

Colleague had bad flu symptoms and had to take first sick day in years.

notangelinajolie · 11/04/2021 13:29

AZ I had no side effects apart from the sore arm. I felt absolutely fine - no different whatsoever.
DH was quite shaky, with a high pulse and fever during the first night but he was fine the next morning.

RosesAndHellebores · 11/04/2021 13:29

We had ours at 7pm ish and the next day I had a slightly sore arm and by 5.30 felt I'd done a hard days' work when usually I carry on until 7pm.

DH, who is never, ever ill, oth woke up nauseous, felt fluey all day and I had to collect him from the station. He went to bed with a lemsip and had his dinner on a tray about an hour later. Right as rain the following morning.

Catcrazylifter · 11/04/2021 13:33

Got mine Friday. On Friday night had fever and chills. Yesterday felt tired weak and rubbish like the cold was ready to start, today absolutely fine just tender arm still. Took some paracetamol throughout yesterday seems to have done the job.

melaniepond · 11/04/2021 13:38

Just a sore arm for me. I was expecting to feel a bit rough afterwards but have felt quite energised ever since (I had it 5 weeks ago).

MRex · 11/04/2021 13:56

I had a mild sore arm like a bruise being pressed for 15 minutes on the evening of the vaccine and 10 minutes the next day. Then I had a mild headache after a couple of days that went wIth paracetamol until next morning and again went with paracetamol. The headache might not have been connected to the vaccine.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 11/04/2021 14:01

Felt a bit chilly about 10hrs after injection, despite heating being on, so put the fire on too. Went to bed clutching a hot water bottle (approx 12hrs after injection).

Lent on arm about 2 days later and took awhile to work out why it felt a bit bruised.

pommedeterre · 11/04/2021 14:52

Had it in the am in the pm spent an hour being cold then an hour 'burning up' - felt really hot and went bright red! Went to bed an hour early and woke up feeling normal the next morning.

pommedeterre · 11/04/2021 14:53

Arm was sore for a few days.

Beeme29 · 11/04/2021 14:53

I had AZ in Feb and had no side effects whatsoever!

KilljoysDutch · 11/04/2021 15:30

Had mine 2 months back and had a sore arm and was absolutely starving that evening.

Bluntness100 · 11/04/2021 15:42

I have to say of the eight of us in my group who had it, I was the only one who had any reaction at all, and as said, mine was mild, a few hours after I had it I had cold symptoms, tired, right as rain after 24 hours.

It’s supposed to be a good sign if you have a reaction it means a healthy immune system kicking in and reacting.

I was on the sofa ans my daughter said “you’re breathing really heavily” and I responded “yes, I can’t breathe through my nose I’m all blocked up. Think I have the cold” and she said that will be the vaccine. It hadn’t even occured to me I’d have a reaction, as said, next day still blocked up in the morning, felt knackered like I’d done a work out, by lunch time I wa totally and utterly fine. Nose clear, normal energy, not tired. 🤷‍♀️
