Are you under 40 and had the AZ vaccine?

Can you just give me a wave please? Or is there data on this anywhere?

I’ve had mine as an unpaid carer and am mid 30s but am the youngest person I know to have had AZ. It’s giving me the impression that I’m one of the first in this age group, which probably isn’t true. That thought is making the news about Canada suspending the AZ vaccine for under 55s a bit scary. So if you’re under 40, female, had AZ and are fine please reassure me. Blush

yes i am 36 had the AZ vaccine last monday - there was surplus at my nearest vaccination centre. No side effects really - sore arm, bit of a headache but nothing that stopped me working or that some paracetemol couldnt help. my partner same age also had it and he also didnt suffer much at all

slowtik · 30/03/2021 10:39

30 and have had mine. I do have asthma though.

OuiOuiKitty · 30/03/2021 10:39

Loads of health care workers under 40 would have had it.

theremarkablerocket · 30/03/2021 10:39

34 and had it two weeks ago. 24 hours of achey muscles but otherwise fine.

HairyFloppins · 30/03/2021 10:39

Lots of my daughters friends have had it. One is CEV the others work in healthcare. They are 19. No serious side effects either.

Spied · 30/03/2021 10:40

Work in healthcare. Had it in January. Age 40.

HeeeeeyBogie · 30/03/2021 10:41

Lots of my colleagues are under 30s and female, I am early 30s and female. I had the AZ vaccine in February. Apart from feeling like flu for a day, I've been fine.
Try not to focus on symptoms or you'll think you've got them all.

Boringlynormal · 30/03/2021 10:41

Thank you, I was under the impression most healthcare workers (like my sister) had Pfizer.

I’m 40 and I’ve had my first one.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 30/03/2021 10:42

I have had one AZ jab so far. Group 6 member thanks to Crohn's disease and I'm mid/late 30s. I'm really annoyed at the scaremongering about it tbh. I had quite bad side effects for a week or so, but I expected it thanks to my Crohn's/immune suppression meds.

dementedpixie · 30/03/2021 10:43

Surely they just get whichever vaccine the vaccination place has in stock at a particular time

HSHorror · 30/03/2021 10:43

41 and had it. Just chills and fever for about 12h.

GrumpyHoonMain · 30/03/2021 10:44

In the midlands many hospitals have created special websites specifically for carers under 30 to get leftover or close to expiry vaccines, and there has been a huge take up. So I bet you aren’t even close to being the youngest.

YerAWizardHarry · 30/03/2021 10:44

My sister has had hers (works as a healthcare assistant) and she’s 27. Lots of people I know have had it due to their jobs/carer status

RoseWineandCake · 30/03/2021 10:44

I'm 37, I had mine in early March. Aches and shivers for 24 hours that was all.

InMySpareTime · 30/03/2021 10:45

DS (19) had it over a week ago and was fine apart from an aching arm.

SavingsQuestions · 30/03/2021 10:46

Group 6 (can be any age but vulnerable conditions), nhs workers and carers will all have the vaccine which will be a fair number in their 20s and 30s, but obviously nothing like the numbers of those 50+

ahhhhhhhhhhhh · 30/03/2021 10:46

35 and had it nearly 6 weeks ago now. Was quiet ill for a few days after.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 30/03/2021 10:47

I'm sure there will be data on the ONS website if you have a good look.

But honestly, many thousands have had it, it's MHRA approved. Even the EU ran out of ways (at least temporarily anyway) of discrediting it. If there was a genuine issue in the under 40's we'd know about it by now.

All it's guilty of is saving lives.

WithASpider · 30/03/2021 10:47

DD1 is 17 and had it a few weeks ago. Fluey symptoms for a couple of days but otherwise fine. Me and DH had Pfizer.

RevolutionRadio · 30/03/2021 10:48

Had my first AZ vaccine February, I'm in my 30s. Was issued it through work.

DinosaurDiana · 30/03/2021 10:48

You’re not the first to have it. I have given it to you get people at the hub I work at.

I had it a few weeks ago due to past gestational diabetes and had zero side effects, well maybe a slightly sore arm for a couple of days but that was it :)

QuentininQuarantino · 30/03/2021 10:53

I had it on Wednesday and am 34.

The Canada story said that the risk was between days 4 and 20 and 1 in 100,000. I’m in Europe where they say it is safe. I’m so pleased to have had it but will be pleased when 20 days have passed!
