Are you under 40 and had the AZ vaccine?

Can you just give me a wave please? Or is there data on this anywhere?

I’ve had mine as an unpaid carer and am mid 30s but am the youngest person I know to have had AZ. It’s giving me the impression that I’m one of the first in this age group, which probably isn’t true. That thought is making the news about Canada suspending the AZ vaccine for under 55s a bit scary. So if you’re under 40, female, had AZ and are fine please reassure me. Blush

JustFrigginNameChange · 30/03/2021 10:54

32, ambulance service, got mine in Feb I think? I have my 2nd dose next week

AnExcellentWalker · 30/03/2021 10:59

Nearly 40, I had my 1st AZ a few weeks ago. Felt pretty rubbish for about 24 hours, then ok ish except a bit tired & a sore shoulder for a couple of days. All better within 4 days.

My DH (just over 40, he's my carer) had his last week. Felt cold & shivery for a couple of hours. That's it.

EasterIssland · 30/03/2021 11:02

36 and had it 3 weeks ago, the worse I had was the pain in the arm, so barely any side effects

rainbowunicorn · 30/03/2021 11:54

Why on earth would you think that you would be one of the first in your age group to have it. We have been giving it to people from the age of 18 since it was approved in this country. There are thousands and thousands of people who work as nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants etc who will have had it very early on in the program.

I am sure you will be fine.

Iamclearlyamug · 30/03/2021 12:13

I’m 32 and had first AZ on Sunday as an unpaid carer. Apart from a sore arm I’ve had no side effects 😊

TyotyaKlava · 30/03/2021 12:45

I turned 40 in February and had my vaccine about two weeks ago. Not clinically vulnerable. My husband is 39 and had his three weeks ago. He had a stroke when he was 30 but has fully recovered since then.

It probably is true to an extent as most healthcare workers were done early and would have received the Pfizer vaccine.

However, you are more likely to get clots if you take the Pill so I am quite sure what all the fuss is about.

TyotyaKlava · 30/03/2021 12:47

Forgot to mention, yes I am fine. I had post vaccine fatigue for a few days but that’s probably due to the cold I caught a few days prior to the vaccine.

TrinidadQueen · 30/03/2021 12:47

Niece who is 35 had it. We were worried as she had aching upper left pain for over a week. But like another poster, she is on immunosuppressive medication due to autoimmune diseases so that may have played a part.

CharlotteRose90 · 30/03/2021 12:48

I’m 31 had it when I was 30 last month. Got it due to Being on immunosuppressants.

Yorkshirepudding1987 · 30/03/2021 12:49
  1. Had it 5 weeks ago and had zero side effects other than a sore armpit and achy arm for a few hours.
MrsTabithaTwitchit · 30/03/2021 12:50

My ds had it , he is 24 but am NHS worker

MrsTabithaTwitchit · 30/03/2021 12:50

Sorry he is an NHS worker

Hyppogriff · 30/03/2021 12:56

Yup 35 had mine. All
Good.

Forevernamechange12333333 · 30/03/2021 12:57

33 and had it due to job role

SheilaTakeABow · 30/03/2021 13:02

I'm a little older, early 40s, but I had AZ two weeks ago today (asthma), which was pretty much the time the blood clot news broke. Have spent the past fortnight sumptom spotting and, to be honest, obsessing to an unhealthy degree. But I'm fine.

Boringlynormal · 30/03/2021 13:03

Thank you. I’m one of those people that’s reassured by things I probably shouldn’t be reassured by and troubled by things that probably aren’t scary but hearing other people have had it and were fine actually does help.

33 and had it two weeks ago

ImTheWolfToday · 30/03/2021 13:10

Had mine, all fine

LateKate · 30/03/2021 13:12

I had mine about 5 weeks ago. I take immune suppressants for crohns disease and normally feel rubbish after the flu jab. This was no worse than that- sore arm, headache and fatigue but nothing awful. Looking forward to getting the next one done.

Spacemonkey2016 · 30/03/2021 13:17

I'm 35, had mine in Feb. Nothing to report except a sore arm for a day or two.

Puffthemagicdragongoestobed · 30/03/2021 13:24

Slightly over your age group (early 40s). Had it mid February and had the usual flu symptoms. Like you the news about risk of blood clots have shaken me a bit, even though it seems to be rare. I would be interested if there is still a risk with the second jab, but it's probably too early to tell...

TheGriffle · 30/03/2021 13:35

34 and had my first jab on the 4th March. I had a few side effects for a couple of days and sore arm for about 2 weeks and that’s it.

EnglishRain · 30/03/2021 13:36

I'm 29 and have had mine. Healthcare worker too.
