@ThreeorFour.

That has got absolutely nothing to do with Covid and I’m not sure what your point is there. If we are doing that logic, I’d rather die of Covid then metastasised cancer.

Interesting thread, of course all lives matter but a 95 year old with terminal cancer that dies with covid subsequently registered as a covid death compared to deaths in the war where is the average age of death was 27 is ridiculous.

Cornettoninja · 31/03/2021 14:27

That’s missing the point though @Heathermary1995. All deaths are sad for someone but that 95 year old who ends up in hospital with thousands more of their peers means that a 27 year old in a car crash isn’t going to get an ambulance quickly or an ICU bed if needed. Thats the problem.

It’s been marketed as ‘save your granny’ or ‘save the NHS’ because apparently we’re incapable of reconciling ‘if all these old people die you’ve got no healthcare until they’ve finished’ and the subsequent issues that would arise from that. People lost their minds over toilet paper, it’s not inconceivable that losing healthcare would result in utter chaos once the reality of that kicked in.
