Another anti lockdown protest in London, the police will be criticised if they arrest anyone, they cannot win. Why can't people just stay at home, haven't enough people died.

Oh msbehavin you're a teacher Confused

We can but hope you demonstrate common sense, logic and the ability to debate if not on mn, then maybe in the classroom..

@yahyahs22

Good for them. Theres actually between 50000 and 10000000 people protesting. Because we can't go on like this, covid or no covid
"We can't go on like this".

Which is why there's a clear roadmap out of lockdown.

Dowser · 21/03/2021 20:14

Now a police van has been set on fire.

These violent, disruptive aresholes are demonstrating perfectly why tougher laws are needed.

MercyBooth · 21/03/2021 20:52

Just seen the pics of it Its in Bristol Apparently it was a peaceful protest this afternoon then troublemakers turned up.

They're doing the government's job for them.

These people need locking up for a long time.

MaxNormal · 21/03/2021 21:24

Totally different demographic at the Bristol one, btw. Antifa mob.
Seems like all sides of the political spectrum are fed up.

tangerinelollipop · 21/03/2021 22:05

Now a police van has been set on fire

It's scary. This has to stop.

tangerinelollipop · 21/03/2021 22:07

Antifa mob

Who can say with any certainty who they are?

I don't care which mob it is, ALL of them need to be stopped

tangerinelollipop · 21/03/2021 22:16

It's much more serious, are those in favour of protests happy now?

MaxNormal · 21/03/2021 22:24

It's a completely different protest in a different city. It's about the new protest Bill being brought in.

But I'm not surprised that people are kicking off about it.

tangerinelollipop · 21/03/2021 22:34

in a different city

Bristol is part of the UK no? Why are some trying to minimise this?

WouldBeGood · 21/03/2021 22:50

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to support protest without condoning violence.

@tangerinelollipop Protests and violence are two different things.

I support protest in a democracy (although its questionable whether we live in one anymore) i dont support violence.

MercyBooth · 21/03/2021 22:54

Your words @User133847 Not mine!

MaxNormal · 21/03/2021 23:03

@tangerinelollipop I'm a bit lost as to what point you're trying to make. There's a bit of a difference between people protesting by walking along a road, maybe holding up a placard, and setting police vans on fire.

Or do they look somehow the same to you?

tangerinelollipop · 21/03/2021 23:12

I'm a bit lost

We don't need any more gaslighting, bending the truth or justifying the unjustifiable. I can see the violence and it needs to stop

MaxNormal · 21/03/2021 23:13

Who is gaslighting, I'm completely confused now? And most of yesterday's march was completely peaceful, why does that "need to stop"?

BonnieDundee · 21/03/2021 23:16

I'm happy with peaceful protest but not with violence. And I still think we should be allowed peaceful protest

MercyBooth · 21/03/2021 23:16

@tangerinelollipop You need to avail yourself of a dictionary. We arent gaslighting.

MercyBooth · 21/03/2021 23:18

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”
John F. Kennedy

Dowser · 21/03/2021 23:52

Violence is not ok
On either side
Police or protesters.

No one should don a police uniform m got to work and end up getting hurt
No one should go to a peaceful protest and end up getting hurt.

Devlesko · 22/03/2021 00:01

So many rights being taken away, and it's scary how muct just willingly conform.
Gov can do what they want they know nobody will object, but to make sure the right to protest will be taken.

Dowser · 22/03/2021 07:00

That’s my worry too That it starts with our right to protest taken away. Does this then filter down to our right to object. How about our right to appeal?. What about our right to speak up.?

Where does it end?
