So with the release of figures as of Friday 19th March over half the adult population of the UK have had at least 1 vaccination.

The number of jabs given is March was phenomenal and its likely numbers will be lower for the next few weeks but even if its "only" 100-200k a day thats still more lives potentially being saved!

Juliet, this thread is a celebratory one. We are all delighted and excited about the vaccine roll out.
You can always start your own thread.

I love the 2nd doses number! highest ever?

CaveMum · 24/03/2021 14:07

About 35,000 down on last Wednesday’s figures.

CaveMum · 24/03/2021 14:08

Yes by quite a way - previous highest daily total for second dose was 132,016.
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 24/03/2021 14:08

354 people who have had the vaccine have died.

I have seen no evidence any of them died of the vaccine, though; it doesn't cause cancer to kill you for instance, as far as I know.

Mind you, from another board, I can offer something found in The Guardian (but not a link drat it) re reported AstraZeneca side-effects:

"There have been huge numbers of immediate side-effects such as pain, nausea, fatigue, headache and fever, with other notable reports including palpitations (1,318), “feeling jittery” (10), “screaming” (4), chilblains (10), alcohol poisoning (2), libido increased (1), libido decreased (1), and one remarkable report of a pregnancy following vaccination."

Some people really will report anything at all that goes wrong (or in the last instance, perhaps right?) and attribute it to the vaccine.

🥳🥳🥳

Maybe Hugo can take it easy in April 🤣

😂😂😂

My aunt is one of those people, she’s a total hypochondriac - she was reporting her myriad symptoms within hours of the jab 🙄

Can I just say that despite being terrified this morning (due to misinformation ) I had my jab this morning. yes I had a wobble and the ladies were so lovely and kind. In short I now feel bloody amazing.

Congratulations. The important thing is though...

Did you get a sticker?

EasterIssland · 24/03/2021 14:13

Glad t hear that passengers!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 24/03/2021 14:13

Bravo to you, passengers. Keep right on feeling well!

EasterIssland · 24/03/2021 14:14

@Bordois :) my thread is gone mental, now we also want Firemen and many other things! apparently many people have received stickers and tea and chocolates!

passengers · 24/03/2021 14:14

P's @Fifthtimelucky. so jealous. ..All I got at my centre was an man turning up for his appointment then walking out saying he didn't believe in it.

passengers · 24/03/2021 14:16

@Bordois I did indeed get a sticker..no lolly sadly. DH got his on Saturday and has refused to take it off!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 24/03/2021 14:19

Before or after he'd been jabbed, passengers? Apparently losing one's nerve at the last moment does happen; a friend of mine too reported someone as having walked out while my friend was getting his first dose.

passengers · 24/03/2021 14:22

He had no jab...apparently people just book to come in and say they are disbelievers

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 24/03/2021 14:31

Silly prannets.

lurker101 · 24/03/2021 14:33

Look at those figures - NI has just had the first day that second doses have exceeded first doses! Fantastic news, some of our most vulnerable people are now as protected as they can be Grin

DdraigGoch · 24/03/2021 14:35

But 200,000 up on the Wednesday before.

What on earth was the point in him turning up I wonder!
passengers · 24/03/2021 14:47

@Fifthtimelucky prove his point I guess. I however am sadly excited that tomorrow's figures include me!

WetJan · 24/03/2021 14:57

I didn't have any side effects from my first... missed a trick there. Just had the text asking me to book for my second and rather fancy some uninterrupted time in bed with a hot water bottle and a cuppa..... Grin

How odd! I suppose some people really do have nothing better to do!

Great numbers today - looking forward to the official total at 4! Grin
