So with the release of figures as of Friday 19th March over half the adult population of the UK have had at least 1 vaccination.

The number of jabs given is March was phenomenal and its likely numbers will be lower for the next few weeks but even if its "only" 100-200k a day thats still more lives potentially being saved!

Hopefully a record breaking second dose figure today, if it follows the trend 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🎉🎉🎉

buttery81 · 15/04/2021 15:28

I’m hoping so too @JennyWreny! Smile

Eng 79,117 + 292,383 = 371,500
Wal 18,763 + 10,695 = 29,458
Sco 13,720 + 27,553 = 41,273
NI 6,235 + 13,152 = 19,387
Total 117,835 + 343,783 = 461,618

nice numbers!!
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 15/04/2021 16:23

Good numbers Smile

Wales did more firsts than seconds yesterday. Maybe that is the Moderna numbers talking.

yellowspanner · 15/04/2021 18:55

Great numbers, again.
👏👏👏

DdraigGoch · 15/04/2021 18:57

Wales is way ahead on seconds so it's inevitable that attention has turned back to firsts (ahead on those too as it happens). A friend in his twenties who I'm not aware of having any conditions was jabbed with Pfizer today. It looks like they're starting to change the programme from targeted to anything goes.

Someone I know in his 40s was called last week (Wales) for a last minute appointment, he turned up and got pfizered. So it might have been the case for your friend as well
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 15/04/2021 19:33

It is funny with the Pfizer. You get people on here saying that it is only being used for 2nd doses now. The will struggle to do seconds etc. When that is clearly rubbish because like you both are saying people getting Pfizer as 1st doses still. The joy of mumsnet Confused

16% of adults have had second doses according to the blocky graph🥳🥳🥳🥳

Looking like the next few weeks with all these 45s and over getting appointments may make those first doses start picking up a bit more again ❤

CaveMum · 15/04/2021 19:51

This is amazing! In January we saw a high of 641 cases of Covid in Scottish care homes in a single week. This week there was 1 case.

Cavemum that is marvellous 🥳🥳🥳

DdraigGoch · 15/04/2021 20:11

@EasterIssland those in their 40s are well underway anyway here. 30% done once those who were already eligible have been discounted. The local health board is starting to prioritise under-30s where Pfizer or Moderna supplies are available so they may get done ahead of over-30s if there is a shortfall of AZ supplies.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 15/04/2021 20:17

It definitely helps having a small population when it comes to a pandemic. Wales is rocking it. I was worried my mother and stepfather would struggle to get their jabs. Being half way up a mountain and all. However the local medical practice has been brilliant. Both doses given. My mum didn't even go inside for the first. So her wheelchair didn't slow the production line of jabs down. The just jabbed her in the under the porch by the main door.

buttery81 · 15/04/2021 22:10

That is wonderful news @CaveMum! It goes to show just how well these vaccines are working.

“Only” 2,393 people are in hospital now with Covid. That’s down from a high of 40,000 at the peak.

Thanks @CaveMum - takes us over the 41.5 million in total.

42 million tomorrow!!!!!

Mumoftwoinprimary · 16/04/2021 16:42

Deaths are now (well) below 30 per day on average over the last week. We have also now had 7 consecutive days of less than 50 deaths per day.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 16/04/2021 19:58

Got too love the days they do over 500k jabs❤

Yes mum I have noticed the deaths recently 🤓 Just been holding off making a noise in case Easter reporting had interfered with that. We are well past that possibility now though aren't we👍 So good that deaths and hospitalisation are still not only looking good but going down. A big relief schools didn't affect things badly.

WombatChocolate · 17/04/2021 17:20

It’s quiet on here today. Perhaps everyone is still watching coverage of Prince Phillip’s funeral.

Good to see over 600,000 total jabs reported today...they are doing very well with the 2nd jabs.

yellowspanner · 17/04/2021 17:28

Blimey, over 600,000 today.
Wonderful news

DdraigGoch · 17/04/2021 17:30

Eng - 102,280 + 446,025 = 548,305
Sco - 11,303 + 26,953 = 38,256
NI - 5,723 + 12,443 = 18,166
Total - 119,306 + 485,421 = 604,727

Wales are no longer publishing figures on Saturdays. They will instead be added to Sunday's announcement. Today's figure is 14% up on last week after discounting the Welsh figures.

yellowspanner · 17/04/2021 17:31

I just looked at the blue boxes and 61% of over 18s have had 1 dose and 17% of over 18s have had both doses. Its effectiveness is clear from our figures on worldometer.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 17/04/2021 17:32

Lovely numbers and percentages today❤

PuzzledObserver · 17/04/2021 17:50

Another couple of days and we will top 10 million second doses. Astonishing!

BunsyGirl · 17/04/2021 18:32

Had my vaccine today...the vaccinator panicked that I was under 30 (as they only had AZ)...I’m 45. Made my day Smile.
