Try this link you answer saying you don’t know if have any of the CEV conditions but then it lets you book if you’re in CV ie Group 6. Far quicker than waiting for GP’s to contact Grp 6.

My GP surgery phoned me on Monday and I have an appointment for the vaccine on Thursday. I haven't received anything else -
Letter etc.

My asthma is severe though so I was half expecting something

lampygirl · 02/03/2021 22:05

Thanks! Managed to book mine in. I’m T1 diabetic. My GP was very dismissive and apparently they were just going by age when I spoke to them the other day but maybe they have activated something. It’s 20 odd miles away but we are young with cars so no bother and booked in for next week.

Wakemeuuuup · 02/03/2021 23:27

I still can't unfortunately

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 02/03/2021 23:37

Looks like it doesn't work for non-England people. Ugh.

HSHorror · 02/03/2021 23:38

I cant still. I should because of childhood asthma hospitalisation.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 03/03/2021 00:04

No good for me in Wales 🙄. Fed up with everything being different. Pretty sure i'd be shielding at this point if I were in England - T1 diabetic, BMI 43, high blood pressure, hospitalisation 3 years ago with complications, yet have been going out to work throughout for the past year, perpetually terrified about catching it.

GP surgery have made it very clear on their website not to contact them about vaccination or get short shrift from the receptionists, and haven't heard a peep from either the surgery or a mass vacc centre about an appointment.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 03/03/2021 00:29

Sorry - don't mean to whinge about it - not the time or place - just so frustrated.

Beeeees · 03/03/2021 07:23

Same here HS but neurological condition. It's a rarer one and my GP surgery isn't great. I've sent a message to ask them about it to try and stop me worrying.

NellePorter · 03/03/2021 07:36

Hope you get it soon @DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel

DinosaurDiana · 03/03/2021 08:12

A friend of mine couldn’t book her DS who has asthma, perhaps it’s certain GP surgeries that are further ahead of others, that have ‘released’ more patients.

RoobyMyrtle · 03/03/2021 08:50

I managed to book at my central hub for in three weeks time yesterday (after trying unsuccessfully a few times). Then this morning I got a text from my gp inviting me to book for tomorrow at the closest centre. Have cancelled the other one 😊 I'm so relieved

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 03/03/2021 11:03

Thanks @NellePorter!

Lemons1571 · 03/03/2021 12:06

I am suddenly able to book online on the central nhs site today (group 6)

Woodandsky · 03/03/2021 12:11

Still not working for me even though the asthma nurse said I was flagged on the system. The big hub is actually slightly closer to me than the gp hub (which is not at my usual surgery).

Same passive aggressive message on the gp system saying do not contact us but I wish they would put up an update on there or something giving an idea about how they are getting on.

Beeeees · 03/03/2021 12:17

We got a passive aggressive text wood

They'd save loads of time by putting an update. My big hub is close too.

Blush I'm actually on my second message because I emailed reception a couple of weeks ago and when I re-read their response it was so vague it was actually meaningless.

Oaktree55 · 03/03/2021 12:45

I posted because I’m slightly annoyed at GP Surgery. On their Facebook page they often have people asking when they’d be contacted (groups eligible to book through national booking system and attend a mass hub)

Instead of saying people have this option they reply they’ll get to them, they never point people towards National System. The mass centres have capacity and the whole rollout is slowed by GP Surgeries trying to keep all patients to themselves it seems.

I’m not being too cynical my pharmacist confirmed it. Seems crazy when speed is of the essence.

Thanks so much for posting this as I have now booked!

Akire · 03/03/2021 13:34

I’m still getting not NHS so go away message. Will keep trying just case it changes.

vickibee · 03/03/2021 14:16

I believe GPs are withholding carer codes so they get paid for administering the vaccine at a GP Practice
Fine if they have stocks of the vaccine but pointless when there is spare capacity at the Hubs

Our GP's website message does at least point people towards the national system for 65-69 and says they won't be done by the surgery hub (we are a large town and have our own national hub so no travel issues there).

It hasn't been updated for weeks though so doesn't include over 60s now nor does it give any indication as to where they are in terms of getting to people. My asthma nurse said she thought they were going alphabetically which is bonkers if its true.

Beeeees · 03/03/2021 15:23

My GP just rang and said they aren't on group 6 yet and had no idea if I was in it or not. 🤣😭

VivaLeBeaver · 03/03/2021 15:50

I posted the link on our village FB group and have had loads of comments from people thanking me and saying they're now booked after getting no info from the GP practice.

Bet the GPs are cursing me if they wanted the money for doing it! Though my friend who works at a different surgery says the amount barely covers everything they have to do.

Either way it seems stupid not to be signposting people.

Woodandsky · 03/03/2021 16:19

Ok am officially going to stop moaning now (huge sighs of relief from my family I'm sure).

I just got a text from my surgery and have booked in at the surgery hub tomorrow!!

Interestingly I still can't book on the central system though (not that I need to obviously).

Good luck everyone I really hope it's not too much longer, it's the not knowing what's happening that's the worst.

cabbageking · 03/03/2021 16:29

Group 7 NHS letters have gone out.
If you can't use the NHS website phone 119 free of charge 7am to 11pm 7 days a week. Someone will book it for you

Serendipity79 · 03/03/2021 16:29

Im glad I saw this thread as I thought I was group 6 but the GP wont answer any calls re Covid so I couldn't check. Last week I couldn't book, today I put in my NHS number and DOB and its let me book straight away so I assume they ticked the Group 6 box somewhere on my NHS record!
