Anyone have AZ and has been side-effect free?

Or very minimal?

Reading the threads and thinking I picked a very bad day for the jab. At a chemist’s, bound to be AZ, I think?

My parents, 63 and 66 had the Oxford vaccine and zero side effects.

0blio · 26/02/2021 10:31

@MrsFezziwig

Just minimal side effects for 2 people. Another felt poorly the day after but was fine the following day.

Tbh these threads are completely pointless, which is why I tend to question the motivation behind them. How do my side effects relate to your potential side effects? Information about the side effects are in the public domain, read up on them and if they include anything which would prevent you doing something important then change your appointment.

Exactly.

I know some people have had side effects, my family members among them, but I've just noticed quite a few negative posts about the AZ vaccine which seems unfair and I'd hate anyone to be put off having it.

DazedandConcerned · 26/02/2021 10:33

I had no side effects with AZ. Not even arm pain. A small bruise came up 5 days after the jab.

ShowOfHands · 26/02/2021 10:34

I had the AZ. 7 colleagues have had it. BIL has had it. SIL has had it. My Mum and Grandma have had it.

None of us had a side effect. Maybe the odd sore arm but otherwise, nothing.

HerculePoirotsGreyCells · 26/02/2021 10:36

My mum and I had the AZ jab. She had a headache for a few hours, I didn't have any symptoms.

DH and DS had the Pfizer and neither had any symptoms apart from a sore arm for a day or two.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 26/02/2021 10:39

DH, my uncle and his partner and my aunt all had AZ with no side effects.

When I'm eligible for mine I'm hoping to book it for early in the week in case I have any side effects. I'll go sick rather than ruin my weekend!

DGRossetti · 26/02/2021 10:40

DW & I both had the AZ jab last Thursday and had zero effects apart from a slight feeling in the arm that we had a jab - if you stopped to think about it.

anappleadaykeeps · 26/02/2021 10:41

I had it yesterday morning. My arm is a bit sore but otherwise I feel fine (24 hours later).

Branleuse · 26/02/2021 10:41

I had mine yesterday and only side effects were I woke up at 4am feeling achy, so took paracetamol and went back to sleep. Seem ok today.

DenisetheMenace · 26/02/2021 10:43

Mum, 81 and stepdad, 74, no side effects. Mum said her arm didn’t even ache as it does with flu jab.
DH having his next week, can’t wait!

ArchwayRoad · 26/02/2021 10:43

I had my first jab 24 hours ago and apart from a slightly sore upper arm I've had no side effects at all so far. I'm 42.

2old4thissite · 26/02/2021 10:47

My completely unscientific sample is a bit disappointing, so pleased to hear many 'no effects' on here.
I know 5 people who've had the az so far and all (myself included) had bad flu temp, tiredness etc (2 felt nauseous too) except for 1 person who had more mild symptoms (but he is immune suppressed so not 'normal')
Still got sore arm 1 week later. Will try to get 2nd dose mid-week as it ruined my weekend Smile

2old4thissite · 26/02/2021 11:02

Didn't want to seem negative as it's way better than getting covid- there's no contest really.
It's just a shock having had flu jabs with no effects at all. It would be interesting to see over the course of time, whether this does turn out to have an unusually high level of side effects.
Shame to see take up abroad very low due to propaganda and political posturing
They are shooting themselves in the foot. News about side effects won't help that.

Smileyoriley · 26/02/2021 13:15

I had no side effects from AZ. I felt a little tired next day but that could have been coincidental. My DH had Pfizer and felt worse- headache and sore arm. In fact all my friends, colleagues and family have only had very mild after affects from either vaccine- sore arm, headaches etc.

lorisparkle · 26/02/2021 13:27

In my work loads of my colleagues have had the AZ jab - the majority have had minor side effects. Quite a few have had coronavirus too and on the whole the effects of them at has been far worse.

JanewaysBun · 26/02/2021 13:29

MIL didn't have any

WithMyOldCockLinnet · 26/02/2021 14:18

Mrs Fezziwig and Oblio -
but I've just noticed quite a few negative posts about the AZ vaccine which seems unfair and I'd hate anyone to be put off having it

That's why I was asking about people who have had NO after effects. Because all I have seen have talked about feeling ill etc. So not sure MrsF would question my motivation in asking. Hmm .

Thanks everyone who has balanced out the picture!

I would have had the vaccine either way, but wanted to know if most people feel ill. No more unusual than looking at the weather report and seeing a % chance of rain, and working out your chances of getting wet.

The leaflet they give you is very clear actually, on 'very common' (more than 1 in 10 people), 'common' (up to 1 in 10) and uncommon (up to 1 in 100) effects. But they don't give you that until 1m before the jab.

In case anyone else is interested:
Very Common =
tenderness
generally feeling unwell
Tiredness
Chills
headache
nausea
muscle ache

(all mild to moderate)

Common =
Lump at jab site
Fever
vomiting
Flu-like symptoms

had mine yesterday, could not sleep last night and my
Arthritis in my knees was very painful and a headache and sore arm

starting to feel better but been sleeping most of the day

FuzzyPuffling · 26/02/2021 19:07

My point (on page 1 somewhere) was no so much that I had lots of side effects and felt quite ill, but that I have an autoimmune condition which made these side effects much more likely and much more severe.

So unless you've got my immune system you're likelihood of getting the same response is nil.

Oh yes, that applies to every answer here.

Fuckadoodledoooo · 26/02/2021 19:10

pIL and my dad. Absolutely nothing.

sonnysunshine · 26/02/2021 19:13

Because of mine and DH's job we know lots of people who have been vaccinated

The main issue with reaction tends to be down to whether or not you have had covid.
Yes = more symptoms and no less

sonnysunshine · 26/02/2021 19:15

And to add to that. Far, far less ssues than the nastiness that was covid

SpeckledyHen · 26/02/2021 19:21

No after effects whatsoever. Not even a sore arm . I hope it works! I’m 65 with no health problems.

Cloudyrainsham · 26/02/2021 19:32

Yes. Had it yesterday. Slight tender arm, slight headache for an hour this morning.

FishWithoutABike · 26/02/2021 19:33

Achy arm aside yep symptom free.
