Anyone in their 50s (no health issues) getting theirs yet?

I know 3 people in their mid 50s who have been given appointments (next week or so) for their first jab. No health issues or partners/family in risk groups.

Are they that far down the list already?

This is all really good news! The group that seems the slowest is Group 6. I expect my 18 year old DD with a learning disability falls into that category, as may I as her carer but I don’t want to hassle our GP surgery to find out, especially as they are only doing a vaccination clinic every 10 days at the moment! It will probably be quicker to wait for our age group.

Love that there are aged 50+ mumsnetters sitting there oh so smugly thinking that the reason they haven't been called yet is because their BMI is low. Oh yes, only the poor fatties getting vaccinated [HmmGrin

Liquorishtoffee · 01/03/2021 08:54

I rarely go to the doctor - so I doubt they know my BMI.

StarcourtMall Every ten days? That doesn't sound very productive! Is there a bigger centre in a neighbouring town your DD could get yours at?

StarcourtMall · 01/03/2021 09:16

There is a big centre nearby but I think group 6 have to wait to be called by your GP. Ours is really slow unfortunately and when I called to see if I was registered as a carer they were really rude and said I had to be in receipt of carers allowance which is not true (don’t qualify as I work full time) so I don’t want to call again.

ETgo · 01/03/2021 09:49

Mine definitely wasn’t because of a high bmi as its 24. Another local surgery are contacting the over 40’s from today

Interesting my DH is 68 and still waiting

WombatChocolate · 01/03/2021 09:55

All the good, he doesn’t have to wait. You can book on the online system unless he is group 6, but by age will be group 5.

What is he waiting for?

For those not agreeing with the BMI point. Many friends who are gps. People are ringing up and asking why they on the list. They are not aware of their BMI
