Yeah I was thinking of people just refusing vaccines when they are there as it's the "wrong" one or whatever! But yes hopefully they will all be pretty much the same.

Yeah, second doses are ramping up now.

A lot of nhs trusts have stated 2nd doses.

Yay, I’ve just managed to book online for my vaccine next week 😀

Just booked DH's vaccine. He's 56 and no underlying conditions so it looks like the booking site is working for the 55-59s.

@KikoMiko - yes, I’m also 56 and no underlying conditions. A few of my friends the same age have also booked. It’s not letting under 55’s book though - I thought the over 50’s were all in the same group but clearly not.

In that case it should be just under a fortnight till the 50-54s can book - I think there are about 4.5 million 55-9s and some of them will have been done already.

Am in the system and can now book DH's vaccine. We will be taking DS for his first morning at school and then I will be dropping DH off for the vaccine.

Thank goodness rates have dipped. Fingers crossed for the next few weeks.

It doesn't seem to let everyone though. A friend is only a few months younger than DH and in the same town but it wouldn't let him book. Maybe they've only partially opened it up for that age group?

Hospitals freeing up at fastest rate so far this week

55+ is group 8,
50+ is group 9,
and then it goes to 10 years for the 40s and 30s, then 18-29.

Zoe app has new daily infections to 7561. Seems like a long time since I saw that figure there.

The DC and I had a celebratory end of remote learning McDonalds for lunch 😊 It’s been so nice to hear their teachers talking to them telling them how much they are looking forward to seeing them back in the classroom next week - I really think they are being genuine too. Remote teaching must be v difficult.

All sounds delicious - we are having afternoon tea delivered tomorrow. Supporting local business and cake - win win.

Picked DS up today after school and had a chat with his absolutely lovely teacher who literally had a tear in her eye saying how much she has missed the rest of her class and is looking forward to having them all back in school.
