Hope no-one minds me starting this. Apologies if another has started too. Please can someone add the pretty pictures.

NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

@OrangeBananaFish
oh that sounds like a pretty good afternoon!

FourTeaFallOut · 27/02/2021 16:09

7434 cases and 290 deaths. That's all going in the right direction.

Level75 · 27/02/2021 16:12

And over half a million (first) vaccinations!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 27/02/2021 16:24

I make that a 35% fall in deaths and 29% in cases.

TheChineseChicken · 27/02/2021 16:25

Drop in deaths is really accelerating

FourTeaFallOut · 27/02/2021 16:25

Good to see cases dropping like that again.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 27/02/2021 16:28

By way of comparison on Saturday 30 January cases were 23,275 and deaths were 1,200

Numbers really tumbling now

carolinesbaby · 27/02/2021 16:35

I have also booked a trip to Wales in May with our caravan. Can't wait!

Frazzled2207 · 27/02/2021 16:36

If you look at seven days up to and including today which is more accurate IMO Cases are down 17.5% Deaths down 32% Admissions down 22%
FourTeaFallOut · 27/02/2021 16:50

It is but the momentum in the fall is cases rates began to lose speed. 17.5% reduction is a good increase on a WoW basis.

starfish88 · 27/02/2021 16:52

It seemed like the fall in cases lost a bit of momentum in the last week or so but in the last few days has picked up again. Hospitalizations and deaths seem to be falling as well as ever.

Frazzled2207 · 27/02/2021 17:06

@starfish88
indeed it looked like things were flattening a week or so again but now it appears they are going properly down again. If can keep the decrease WoW at 15%+ I think that's promising but just hope it's broadly across the board. In Greater Manchester things have been worryingly flat but numbers today are heading down again.

tobee · 27/02/2021 18:22

Amused about your Frankenstein pizzas @FourTeaFallOut! Grin

Pomegranatespompom · 27/02/2021 18:39

20 million is fantastic - brilliant effort.

FourTeaFallOut · 27/02/2021 19:00

You'll be unsurprised to learn that amalgamating the remnants of the fridge and dumping them on top of an impoverished pizza base was not a culinery eureka moment but it filled a gap and now, courtesy of the Tesco van, we are awash with food and so the rapid decline from bounty to vegetable remnants begins again.

Pomegranatespompom · 27/02/2021 19:04

I’d love some cake and I’ve not even completed 2 weeks of Lent. Are we in extenuating circumstances??

FourTeaFallOut · 27/02/2021 19:17

I should probably add, we just actually do a terrible job of organising the food and then defending it for the meal it was originally intended in a house with three boys with hollow legs and free and easy access to the kitchen - rather than an issue with the volume of food. It's easy to assume that everyone is in the same boat as you are and that this is just funny and forget that food is an actual problem that other people have to manage. Sorry Blush

louisejxxx · 27/02/2021 19:19

Sorry for the radio silence from me - trying to home school, work from home and recover from covid has somewhat kicked my ass the last couple of days. Thursday was a good day and then yesterday felt like I’d been hit like a bus, today somewhere in the middle. I guess it’ll be like that for a couple of weeks.

Came on to comment on today’s amazing case figures - today was the first day in a while I haven’t been hitting refresh at 4pm to find out the data...I’m taking that as a good sign that I’m less obsessed because everything is heading so much in the right direction.

Ha! This is our week too - Sunday DH goes to the supermarket and buys loads of lovely stuff. By Thursday we’re eating scraps

Sounds like a tough week. Hope your lingering covid symptoms get better quickly
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 27/02/2021 19:47

My local daily figures are getting pretty amazing. All of February we have had drops of 40% or more a week for cases and deaths. Hospital admissions has been dropping at 30% or more.

This week our covid hospital admissions are now into single figures each day. That is the figures for a large London health trust made up of 5 hospitals.

Smile

Yes this just about sums up food in the tobee household for the last year. 😏

tobee · 27/02/2021 20:13

Omg cake!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 27/02/2021 21:21

Heloooooo! I lost you all.

Had a great walk today, quite a long one and door to door.

I’m in for the picnic of joy. But I put cream on first. scone rhymes with gone.

Fuzzy how are you and tell me how George is too.

tobee · 27/02/2021 22:14

Is the way scone pronounced regional? I think I rhyme with cone but sometimes with gone! Grin
