I’ve had enough!!!!!!! I’m sick to death of walking around my boring area, sick of the muddy fucking park and having to feed my baby in the cold because we’re not allowed indoors.

I hate the fact we’ve gone into mass fucking hysteria over a virus where 1/3 of people who get it don’t even realize and the vast majority of others get mild flu symptoms AT MOST.

I thought the vaccine was going to be our way out of this shit but no - suddenly there are new variants, it’s not good enough for the whole of the UK to be vaccinated - the WHOLE WORLD has to be vaccinated before we’re truly safe, and we’re now aiming for zero fucking Covid which was NEVER the original aim.

I just want family and friends to come round my house, indoors. I want to go to shops and sit in a cafe and not have to stand in a bloody queue to get in. I want someone to take my baby off me for one bloody afternoon so I can have a bit of peace and quiet.

I thought I’d feel better now the warmer weather’s here but I don’t at all. DP and I had a row earlier because he said it’s hard for him too and it’s not all about me. I never said it was, but surely I’m allowed to have a rant about how shit this is to my own partner?!!

I want the madness to end, now.

I am normally mentally very strong, I’ve coped with a lot in my life but these lockdowns have broken me. I’m just dead inside now, no joy in me at all. I’m scared to look forward and feel any excitement or interest in anything because at any moment it’s whisked away again. I stopped coping a while ago, I’ve cried, shouted and now just flat. I don’t trust the government anymore they u turn with a moments notice and any hope you have is gone again. I doubt Boris will be doing anything that’s going to make any difference to me in his speech.. and to be honest I’m past caring

I’m hopeful that Boris will give us a clear route out of lockdown. We need to get back to normal life as soon as the most vulnerable have been vaccinated, end of.

Sorry to hear that @Tara336. I feel similar x

They'll keep it up until we all have Stockholm syndrome and are so grateful to be allowed back out again that we voluntarily are blind to seeing reality, which is that this crony government have lied to us, robbed us blind and created economic Armageddon.

struggling8888 · 22/02/2021 07:02

I have no idea, but I hope you get to see your parents soon @stopgap x

When we’re let back out, thousands of people will die of the flu this coming winter and as usual, no one will give a damn.

I hear you op.
Once again the people being shafted are new mums, studenrs, the young, the working age population.
However don't worry - you will be able to play golf or tennis.
I've said all along this is politically motivated. Appease the blue rinse voters.

Get ready for the infection rate to hit the roof once education is fully open. Not one of my school staff friends had been vaccinated.

I will be watching the Bell End tonight. Wonder who he has got left to it on the stand. Matt Hancock and his undisclosed financial situation can't go on the podium anymore.

You think they did it on purpose?

It’s interesting that apparently California and Florida have had different ways of combatting this. California has locked down, Florida has stayed open. Similar infection rates, similar mortality rates. It’s like lock down doesn’t make a difference. 🤷‍♀️

BrideofBideford · 22/02/2021 07:10

Tara336 Same here

Even IF we get freedom back (which I doubt, as freedom is now dependent on the nhs coping, meaning lockdown/restrictions every winter for covid & flu) I feel I cannot believe it won’t be whisked away again

struggling8888 · 22/02/2021 07:12

I think the elderly and vulnerable should be protected. But as soon as that’s done, I’m done. There’s no further reason to stay locked up after that.

@struggling8888 thank you, let's hope today brings us some relief from all of this. I'm supposed to be marrying in Scotland in April, I'm terrified of looking forward to it in case that too is cancelled. Its not a grand affair, just a beautiful venue with us and two witnesses but the venue has said I might now be allowed a photographer as only 5 people allowed and one of those has to be the minister! So I'm waiting to see what's said tomorrow for Scotland. Ignore the trolls on here calling people c__t shows no class and reflects on them not you 🙂

struggling8888 · 22/02/2021 07:15

Thanks @Tara336 and really hope you can get married! X

@BrideofBideford of have no trust in Boris and his cronies anymore. When they announced we could have a family Christmas I thought it made no sense but I could see why people were happy to have that (and deserved too) but changing the rules at the last minute was an awful thing to do, if he had just said keep things simple stay on your households/bubbles for Christmas this year he would have more credibility. I'd just been going with the flow until then but that was the final straw for me I lost all confidence in anything he says or promises.

Onlinedilema · 22/02/2021 07:23

Vaccinating a 90 year old in a care home does not stop the spread of covid. It will hopefully stop the 90 year from dying if they catch covid.
You need to vaccinate those who are in contact with lots of people in order to stop it spreading, or rely on herd immunity.
The infection rate will not go down once schools are re opened. I'm not disagreeing with the 're opening of schools, but I'm seeing my family once my mum and dad are vaccinated.

tenredthings · 22/02/2021 07:34

@Graciebobcat I don't think it's deliberate but I'm sure suits their disaster capitalist agenda.

Hope you're feeling OK this morning OP Flowers

Dowser · 22/02/2021 10:18

@TiddyTid

I think it will be the last one OP because of the vaccines. However, if it turns out not the case I honestly can't see people abiding by another lockdown. There's only so much people can take, only so many billions to prop up the economy and only so long before businesses go completely down the pan. I honestly don't think another lockdown is feasible.
Was in Durham yesterday. It was definitely a case of lockdown? What lockdown? It was heaving. It was a balmy 12 degrees. Loads of students on the streets, doing what students do, enjoying being young and free. The takeaways were doing a roaring trade. We sat in the square with excellent coffee and cake. None of that horrible yellow and black biohazard tape. Benches were in use and not taped off. Lovely buzz in the air. Next to no one wearing masks. Only needed a busker to entertain us and it would’ve been like a normal Sunday afternoon in the 60s and 70s when shops didn’t open.

It gave me such a lift I spelt better than I have in ages.

Going back next week.
Life is still out there folks. Let’s grab it with both hands.

I wouldn’t rely on that. As we age our immune systems become less efficient at working with a vax

Seems there are still cases, but zero lockdown.

Good article about it here :

I read india dealt with the infection by distributing these kits . Obviously not infallible but something worked

Given Indian people in the U.K. haven’t fared so well why oh why oh why oh WHY isn’t the UK government looking at BASIC nutrition and nutrients such as vitamin D and zinc?

Can anyone tell me before I walk to Downing Street and thrust some basic D and zinc in the letterbox?!

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 22/02/2021 11:16

As someone living in Scotland it upsets me to see so many posts saying ‘you can have a support bubble with a baby under 1’. Great for you lot in England, in Scotland new mums have fuck all support. I have two children, the youngest just 8 months. I’m fucking done. A support bubble would be that one glimmer of hope but Sturgeon doesn’t feel we deserve it. Done.

Thewordgame · 22/02/2021 11:17

Ayurvedic medicine and natural remedies are widely used in India, with excellent results, so examples are Ajwain seeds, ginger, turmeric and many more- I’m not an expert. I used these when I had covid and they worked. Alternative medicine has never been popular in the UK, must be profit related.
