This is a continuation of the previous thread, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4155962-10-million-people-vaccinated-already-brilliant

This thread is intended as a positive place to discuss our remarkable vaccine rollout as it progresses and to celebrate the ever increasing numbers as we go.

Polite notice: conspiracy theorists, doommongers and those looking for endless debate over vaccine efficacy, leave vs remain or anything else along those lines - this is probably not the thread for you.

So, to pick up from where we left off... a mind-blowing 16,875,536 people in the UK have now received their first dose of the vaccine - that’s 32% (or 1 in every 3.1) of all UK adults.

Every day, hundreds of thousands more people are gaining excellent levels of protection against this sodding virus. So, let’s keep jab jab jabbing our way onwards, upwards and out of this. Covid, we’re coming for ya!!!

The prediction on the Covidvax.live site says over 19 million by the end of yesterday. Just sayin’

Next priority group announced as 40-49 with no job related criteria. That’s DH (45) but I’ll have to wait a bit longer (39)!

It's a bit frustrating because while I have had my first jab, my husband (fifteen years younger) won't be getting one yet-awhile.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 26/02/2021 13:13

Yay🥳 Fabulous jab numbers

So 20 million announced on Sunday?

Frazzled2207 · 26/02/2021 17:13

if it's not announced on sunday then it will surely happen on sunday.

And love the Scottish chart. I want one of those for the UK.

CaveMum · 26/02/2021 17:55

Good news on efficacy for NHS staff www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-56211755

PuzzledObserver · 26/02/2021 18:00

Hancock quoted an ONS survey showing that 94% of UK adults said they had either had or would have the vaccine. Stupendous! 94% of 53 million is a tad under 50 million.

So.... 31 million people to go, and about 80 million jabs (as total jabs including second doses is almost 20 million). Or less if we start using the Janssen single dose one.

buttery81 · 26/02/2021 18:02

19,177,555 people have now received their 1st dose of vaccine up to and including 25th Feb.

WOW!

Plus 736,037 people have now had both doses.

Truly tremendous numbers today! Grin

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 26/02/2021 18:03

I am hopeful that that 94% will get even bigger as time goes on.

buttery81 · 26/02/2021 18:09

Excellent stats from your local area too @CaveMum, thanks!

NHS Coventry and Warwickshire got a shout out too - 95% of over 65’s jabbed. I’m in the neighbouring area, and over 60’s are being done here.
