Hi,

I have a leaky heart valve and recess free flu jab each year. Pretty sure I’m in JCVI group 6 and so wondering if others in this group have been called up yet?

OP posts:
MerlinsSaggyLeftTit · 18/02/2021 12:04

MIL is Group 6 and got the call from her GP yesterday, she is having it done on Monday. I am so thrilled!

RandomMess · 19/02/2021 17:45

Still waiting 😭 feel like the only group 6 person in the area still waiting for an invite!

Lau7 · 19/02/2021 19:09

RandomMess I am still waiting too. My doc confirmed that i’m group 6 but said they’re still working their way through group 5 at the mo. Hoping it won’t be long!

RandomMess · 19/02/2021 19:10

@Lau7 ours are part way through group 6, group 5 finished!

Silverstar2 · 19/02/2021 20:11

I am very clearly group 6, and work in education, but my gp has 'no idea' when my group will be called.....

Great. I'll just keep washing my hands and hoping for the best in school shall I?

RandomMess · 19/02/2021 21:20

@Silverstar2 🤬

Itsjustricemichael · 19/02/2021 21:29

I got called for vaccine tommorow but then got called back as I can't be given the Pfizer one.... so I'm waiting on when they get stock of Oxford or Moderna.....

CrayonInThreeBits · 19/02/2021 21:40

Managed to get my newly-shielding self on to the vaccine booking site! For some reason wasn't offered the nearby centre my CEV partner had the jab at, but have an appointment in a nearby city in a week 😀

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 19/02/2021 21:41

Group 6 carer here with group 6 disabled son - it's taken 3 weeks, 8 phone calls and 10 emails to get us both coded correctly on the system. It's been incredibly frustrating and they've no idea when we'll be called.

I really was hoping to be done 2 weeks before school starts back, but that doesn't look likely and I'm really worried.

I think it was a very poor decision to get gps to be the gatekeepers here, as demonstrated by the various experiences of everyone on this thread.

Anyone receiving carer's allowance should be able to book on the nhs website.

Microwavingramen · 19/02/2021 21:41

Yes, I've had mine for heart valve.

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 19/02/2021 22:42

Just realised I'm on the wrong thread - sorry!

Fallulah · 22/02/2021 13:25

Still no response from GP here. I’m finding it very hard when friends on Facebook are posting they’ve had theirs, not to demand WHY when I know they don’t have medical conditions. Can see this becoming quite devisive (if that’s spelled right).

CrayonInThreeBits · 22/02/2021 13:35

Divisive — same as divide or division. The "di-" part originally comes from Latin "dis-", meaning "apart". Same as dissect comes from Latin "dis", meaning "apart", and "secare", meaning "cut". If that makes it more memorable at all.

It's hard not to be frustrated when you're vulnerable and can see so many other people being vaccinated. I hope it's soon for you.

allsayingthesamething · 22/02/2021 14:02

You don't know that anyone else doesn't have a condition!! I tell no one.

OverTheRubicon · 22/02/2021 14:09

I'm still waiting and my GP surgery says they are not taking questions about vaccination, so I don't know how on earth I'm meant to check if I'm properly coded - have impaired kidney function so my specialist said I should be in group 6, but he's not contactable either so who knows...

Our gp has a stern message telling everyone not to contact them under any circumstances about the covid vaccine. It’s on their website, answerphone, everything! Does that really mean that if you’re missed or you think you’re in the wrong group, you should keep quiet?? Stupid system. Probably frightens vulnerable people who have genuinely been overlooked, to keep quiet.
needadvice54321 · 22/02/2021 14:33

I'm still waiting, high BMI and asthmatic- was told I'm in group 6 a week ago. I wouldn't mind so much but I work in early years and feel quite vulnerable Sad

uncomfortablydumb53 · 22/02/2021 15:08

I'm group 6 and received my text this morning, booked for Wednesday at GP's
I think you'll get your invitation within the next week or two

uncomfortablydumb53 · 22/02/2021 15:09

I'm in Wiltshire

Fallulah · 27/02/2021 16:47

Had the text yesterday and am booked for next week. Grin

RandomMess · 27/02/2021 17:31

Still waiting for the invite 😭

NK346f2849X127d8bca260 · 27/02/2021 18:20

I am group 6 beause of a CHD, nearer to the upper age and got mine yesterday. My 17 year old dd is also group 6, with a CHD and is yet to be called, GP confirmed she is on list , wonder if they work down through list based on age.

RandomMess · 27/02/2021 18:32

My GP said those in group 6 plus obese (based on the weight recorded at the Drs) tended to be highest on the list.

Floralnomad · 27/02/2021 18:38

My daughter is group 6 and got hers today at the GP , she’s 21 , looked like all ages going in when I waited in the car park . Our Gp has been very efficient throughout though , dh and I had ours at the start of Feb courtesy of the standby list ( I’m group 6 and he is group 7) .

unmumsymummy21 · 27/02/2021 18:51

I received my text three weeks ago. Group 6. Mid 30s.
