hello fellow positive people! Glad to see so many are getting their jabs. My DH is 50 with no other issues and I think even he'll not be waiting too long now.

On the holiday side of things, I remain cautious and quietly optimistic. I certainly don't think that things will not be very different in a few months time, despite what Doom Hoovers may like to claim, and it looks as if other parts of the world are starting to vaccinate / make plans to open up too.

carolinesbaby · 13/02/2021 13:12

@DareIask

DH been called today. 59 and no underlying reasons.

Midlands

That's amazing! My DH turns 55 in a couple of weeks and has some mild underlying conditions, but works in places that have had many large scale outbreaks so I'm anxious for him to get jabbed ASAP.

How can I find out where in the process my county are up to? I don't really know anybody between DH's age and over 75, so I'm struggling to see where they're up to. The over 75's have all been done now.

sometimesamazinggrace · 13/02/2021 13:42

Got the best birthday present today - my parents (68 and 65) are booked in for their first jab on Wednesday! My dad had a heart attack a few years ago so we've been worried about him since the start. Hopefully this means they have a good degree of immunity by the time my son's back at school (we're bubbled with them).

TJ17 · 13/02/2021 14:19

@Reachersloveinterest obviously might not be the case for you but we have a Facebook page regarding our local GPs and they put a lot of information including where they are up to on there. Could try that?

Frazzled2207 · 13/02/2021 14:26

@Reachersloveinterest was going to suggest the same. I don't think it's. case of counties being up to a certain group I think it's mostly down to gp hubs. Some started much later than others, some have far less people in certain categories on their books etc there is certainly a lot of variation round here.

Inastatus · 13/02/2021 14:54

@Shehz21 - I just shed a few tears reading the article you posted. Hoping and wishing it all plays out, especially the bit about schools returning 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Frazzled2207 · 13/02/2021 15:38

There is a clip of Boris doing the social media rounds, taken earlier today. He is in optimistic mood and says words to the effect of really keen to get kids back in school March 8th 🤞🤞🤞

Frazzled2207 · 13/02/2021 15:42

Also worth following John Roberts on Twitter he is doing daily graphs showing how the proportion of people dying with covid who are age 80+ (And thus probably vaccinated a few weeks ago) is falling. Up until Christmas it was a fairly reliable 56% then went up a bit but is now definitely coming down and looks like it’s picking up pace

Frazzled2207 · 13/02/2021 15:43

Apols here is the chart I was referring to @

@FourTeaFallOut

What do people think chances are of a uk caravan holiday in the Easter holidays?

I think if you are the kind of cat to brave the roulette of British weather at Easter then your risk taking behaviour is definitely in line with chancing the easing of restrictions.

😂😂😂😂

Also if you are looking at the list of deaths on the government dashboard the rate is reducing extremely quickly. Far more quickly than in last April. In terms of cases we're on a black run down but for deaths it's too dangerous to ski down it.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 13/02/2021 16:17

Another set of excellent figures today.

Cases 13308 from 18262 last week

Deaths 621 from 828 last week

1741 hospitalisations, don’t know where to find last week but at least it’s now comfortably below 2000

Vaccinations over 500k for the first time on a Saturday.

These daily figures are making me want to cry with relief lately. Definitely seeing some rapidly faster drops as a sign of those jabs working.

Really lockdown for two months I never noticed that. Thanks for mentioning it❤

Terribly surprised to hear that the figures could be affected by us opening up. So kind of you to point that out❤

As for new variants I had no idea. Where can I read up on such a frightening new thing. None of the normal news outlets have said thing about new variants. You are obviously way more informed than my simple self. So again ta for that❤

Wherediditgo · 13/02/2021 16:49

Treat these numbers with absolute caution. We have been in lockdown effectively almost 2 months now. They should be at this point if not better to be fair

The true test will be in reopening and seeing how fast they go up again due to the new variants now in circulation. Yes they’re good numbers but we’ve been here before

Read the room Hmm

Brunt0n · 13/02/2021 16:50

@Thewiseoneincognito shouldn’t you be away stealing sweeties from kids or something? You absolute doom goblin
