I think it is important that people are aware of the possible side effects so they can prepare for child care, time off work etc...
DH had the AZ one the other day. He had an allergic reaction which resolved with antihistamines, fever, headache, body aches, fatigue and diarrhoea which have all now resolved. He does have lots of allergies though so it wasn't unexpected.
He was hospitalised with Covid, was very unwell and has had ongoing complications due to Covid.
On balance having the vaccine a better experience for him than the viral infection.
I was due to have mine at the same time, but I am glad I delayed so that someone was well enough to look after the children.
I will likely be having mine this week. My Covid symptoms were not as severe as DH (I was not hospitalised), but I also have ongoing complications due to the viral infection. I would rather not have Covid again. I normally have the flu vaccine each year with no issues.
My dad had the Pfizer one and had no side effects. His female friend had theirs two days before and was unwell with fever, aches etc.. for 5 days
Everyone's immune system is different so the reactions will vary.
