Vaccine side effects anyone?

wetasstenalady · 14/01/2021 19:08

Had my vaccine yesterday all fine
Then at about 9pm my arm was killing all the way into my wrist bone and fingers
Woke up about 3am really shivering and had to put extra duvet then an hour later red hot.
Today I've had on and off temp and feel really fluey to the point I've had to lie in bed. Now can feel the temp coming back up
Anyone else effected like this? For information I tested positive in December

I’ve had Covid, I am young, had the Pfizer jab, no side effects whatsoever.

wellyjellymelly · 14/01/2021 20:17

@h0rsewithn0name

Someone I know is a medical professional. She has been told that the side effects are worse if you are younger and you have had covid.
Is this for both vaccines do you know?
EloraaDanan · 14/01/2021 20:27

Had mine today. No side effects and I didn’t even feel the needle. Which was lovely as this seasons flu jab stung like a mother.

frumpety · 14/01/2021 20:28

Did anyone else get told they were part of a trial when having their vaccine ?

Tanfastic · 14/01/2021 20:40

I feel a bit better since this morning, I had a temperature which has now gone down. I didn't feel well enough to go to work today but hopefully will tomorrow. I also felt very sick which passed by about mid morning but I have just generally felt unwell. First day I've had off work sick for over three years. Some of my colleagues have felt similar but without the temperature.

Tanfastic · 14/01/2021 20:43

Sorry posted this on the wrong thread so for clarity I had my vaccine yesterday, woke up last night with chills, body ache and nausea. Had a temperature today as well, just generally unwell.

yikesanotherbooboo · 14/01/2021 21:41

Btw my 94 yr old DM has had both doses of Pfizer; slightly sore arm for a day or two; nil else.
For whosoever mentioned the needle; it is tiny and nothing to worry about.

It was the Astra zenica vaccine.

ScrapThatThen · 15/01/2021 07:36

I had Pfizer yesterday and had no side effects.

Skiptotheloo1 · 15/01/2021 07:43

I had Pfizer yesterday. I have a sore arm where the injection went in. I felt exhausted last night and went to be before 8 and slept all night. Feel better this morning.

Magissa · 15/01/2021 07:52

@BailOutChapsGingersGornSquiffy "have you tested positive in the last four weeks "
I wonder how this would impact on people who haven't tested but may have had COVID with no symptoms.

TheOriginalNutty · 15/01/2021 07:54

I had mine on a Saturday, felt fine all day. Sunday I started to feel a bit off and on the Monday I felt crap, high temp, chills, nausea, swollen armpit, very tired, all the same symptoms as I had with Covid, except for the swollen armpit.

I ended up being sent home because of my temp and wasn't allowed back until I'd had a negative covid swab.

I've booked 3 days off for after my second jab.

TheOriginalNutty · 15/01/2021 07:55

Mine was the Pfizer jab

Sounds pretty similar to me tbh. I had a temp yesterday so awaiting my covid results today hopefully. I'm not allowed back in until I get a negative result which I'm fully expecting I will. Wfh today as I feel a lot better although still not 💯 per cent to be honest. Not sure I'm looking forward to my second dose.

DeathMetalMum · 15/01/2021 08:47

Had mine Wednesday, I had a light headache yesterday. My arm is still a little bit sore around the injection site but that's it. Initially didn't notice anything until in the evening after the injection around 7 hours afterwards. I had mine just before my lunch break at work and then was fine to finish my shift (pharmacy).

DeathMetalMum · 15/01/2021 08:50

My arm only started aching in the evening. Didn't make that clear.

I had the Pfizer injection.

Bythemillpond · 15/01/2021 09:06

I am not having it as I have already had Covid.
I also react really badly to the flu vaccine and I can’t afford to be laid up for a month and have to fight the doctors for antibiotics

bumblingbovine49 · 15/01/2021 09:16

When I had a typhoid vaccine years and years ago as a young adult , I was unable to stop shaking and was in bed with a temperature for about 24 hours. Hopefully this is something similar

covetingthepreciousthings · 15/01/2021 09:38

What was the trial?

covetingthepreciousthings · 15/01/2021 09:39

Can I ask, those that have had it, what is a the procedure like? Do you have to fill out forms beforehand? And how do they monitor you afterwards? Or do you just sit somewhere for 15 mins before you're allowed to leave?

wetasstenalady · 15/01/2021 09:51

Temperature seems to have gone now but feel really really sick and my glands are up
But hey it's better than being really poorly with covid

I had a very sore arm for 2 days, the night of the vaccine I felt really rough and very very tired too. Again, the Pfizer one. I haven't had Covid so can't compare it to that!

I am NHS worker so done through/at work. We had lots of forms, and a very long queue. Then another, slightly shorter queue. The injection was superquick, then had to sit for 15 mins to check no side effects and then on my way, Luckily the tiredness took a few hours to hit as I had a 30 min drive back home but I was fine for the couple of hours after the jab, it was after that the side effects came on,

JS87 · 15/01/2021 10:08

Pfizer first dose on Wednesday. Arm was really sore that night so I hardly slept (worse than for any other vaccine). Felt ok yesterday (apart from the lack of sleep) but have a headache across my forehead and nose today and feel a bit nauseous. Arm almost normal again.

EloraaDanan · 15/01/2021 14:34

To be honest @wetasstenalady it’s sounds like you may caught another virus. There’s lots of fluey type things buzzing about at the moment.

WhydoesItAlwaysRainMe · 15/01/2021 17:53

I had Pfizer last week. Arm aching and then the day after felt really achy and tired (a bit like when I had covid). After 24 hours felt fine
