[NB - Lighthearted . . .]

Is it just me, or did anyone else find this visual on the BBC website a bit weird?

It may be that with the urgency to get everyone vaccinated they will trying to process people as quickly as possible and they don't want to risk jabbing someone in a bare leg?

safariboot · 08/01/2021 12:22

No social distancing in that queue either!

bravoy · 08/01/2021 12:23

everyone is wearing joggers these days

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 08/01/2021 12:25

Also some of those 50-54 year olds look at death's door!

OnlyTeaForMe · 08/01/2021 12:25

They all look incredibly able-bodied!

I think some people have snuck into the queue twice too Grin

Id also be concerned it's only for people with similar leg positions to

No wheelchair users allowed. No red heads either.

If you are a redheaded wheelchair user wearing a skirt, you're doomed!!!

TheSultanofPingu · 08/01/2021 12:26

Maybe the artist isn't very good at drawing legs.

ThePlantsitter · 08/01/2021 12:27

Also surely some of the CEV people need to be in wheelchairs or clinically obese? There's obviously nothing wrong with 'em!

Cornettoninja · 08/01/2021 12:28

Aw, now I’m picturing the designer reading this thread looking Sad

It’s okay anonymous bbc dude, you tried.

ThePlantsitter · 08/01/2021 12:29

Yes but any professional designer is well used to having people nitpicking their designs. s/he's probably thinking we've got a point!

LemonBreeland · 08/01/2021 12:29

The BBC graphic the other day had over 70s pictured with the old person leaning on a stick like in the road sign. I'm sure the 70 year olds I know would be most annoyed at that.

MabelChiltern1 · 08/01/2021 12:30

Not having the best day and this made me laugh. Thank you!

OnlyTeaForMe · 08/01/2021 12:31

On a serious note, the lack of cultural diversity in clothing is a bit of an issue - especially for certain groups which be more at risk already.

They're all pedestrian crossing green man models ...

QuantumJump · 08/01/2021 12:33

But to be fair there are turbans and hijabs.

That'll be because COVID's a scam and they're actors. Wink

Did you notice that they don't show you the queue of people leaving? Because THE ONES WHO LEAVE AREN'T PEOPLE ANY MORE 😱

MarinPrime · 08/01/2021 12:36

Yes, I saw that and was gobsmacked at the ageism. I don't know anyone in their 70s who walks bent over like that with a stick.

VinterKvinna · 08/01/2021 12:41

i know you put light hearted... but really? Hmm

Poppyolive90 · 08/01/2021 12:43

This thread has cheered me up thank you Grin

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 08/01/2021 12:44

@OnlyTeaForMe. No didn't find it weird. I didn't even notice, let alone care.

As for diversity. There are people with hijabs. There are various skin & hair colours. Given the limited colours they've used, I think they've done well.

Not much in the way of disability inclusion, but maybe they all have hidden disabilities.

There's not one that represents me, but I wouldn't have noticed, much less care.

Just stick jabs in quickly!!

Carysmatthews · 08/01/2021 12:44

I thought this was going to say you have to wear trousers to be taken seriously 🤓

Peachered · 08/01/2021 12:46

This made me laugh.

I would also rather graphic design budgets were spent wisely, graphics produced quickly and easily and money diverted elsewhere.

At least I now know how to stand when I go for my vaccine though :D

Changeythenamey · 08/01/2021 12:47

‘Who is drawing the graphics?’
‘Dave’
‘But you know Dave can’t draw anything but 90s trousers’
‘Bugger it. We’ve got a deadline! Trousers it is!’

Kittytheteapot · 08/01/2021 12:50

The obese need not bother queuing, they clearly won't be offered the vaccine.
